i think we're more like the software than the screen - just my opinion ;)
The software is all illusory. It all changes and disappears. There's Ātman, and that's it. So, his analogy is good!
In a dream you are watching in. Then the dream ends but you are watching still. The watcher is the screen and all the appearances are the illusions😮
I thought you had to attain the Ego first then shatter it. How can you give up something you don't have ?
The egoic mind is only as real as the thoughts you have. Do you own your thoughts, either!? You can easily give up things that you think are yours, but they really are not.
Second person perspective is just an illusion. First person is differ being himself as the second and third person.
How do you know there can only be one screen in all of reality?
Practice, sincerity, introspection, attentiveness. Cracks start to show up and then suddenly poof...
If consciousness is real and is capable of all this, why did it start with cave men and make everybody suffer all these years why all the illness and the wars why would it want to suffer like this why does it want to localize its self to know its self if that intelligent it should know and done a better job.

Not only the Screen, but the Film, and the Speakers. Nevertheless, these create an Experience. We are not the Experience. Consciousness is an emergent property of a complex brain. All mammals are conscious. Consciousness requires billions of neurons and synapses. The Universe has neither. Peace.
Strange how the universe ressembles the brain's synapses ? - maybe think a bit deeper, or in a less "atomistic" way. Peace.
