Worked magically for me, I tried to install dual-boot systems Ubuntu and win10 on my dell latitude 5510, switched to AHCI mode to install Ubuntu, and later fixed the windows boot issue following this tutorial. Thx so much!
Hi, I have a really old pc, with legacy bios I used your instructions and worked like a charm. At first after I restarted my pc it would not boot, since I'm on windows 10 it went into repair mode and after that I could log into windows. As mentioned I changed IDE to AHCI, I looked in device management and there AHCI was enabled. I have an ssd and finally I can feel the speed. Thank you so much.
I have not AHCI option too, then I could do it ? I am running Windows 10 in a SSD without AHCI I believe I am going to see the configuration of win 10 in my PC..I am in Win 7 now.. Uhmmm interesting.....

Is there any difference in performance if AHCI is enabled before installing windows or if AHCI is enabled after installing windows (and applying the fix) ? Is there any other reason for recommending to install windows after enabling AHCI, beside the Blue Screen if otherwise ?

The error message you're encountering, "reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key," typically indicates that your computer is having trouble locating a bootable device. This could be due to various reasons, such as a disconnected or faulty hard drive, incorrect boot order settings, or a corrupt operating system. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue: Check Boot Order: Access your computer's BIOS/UEFI settings. You can usually do this by pressing a specific key during the initial boot process, such as Esc, Del, F2, or F10. The key to access the BIOS/UEFI varies depending on your computer's manufacturer. Once in the BIOS/UEFI, navigate to the "Boot" or "Boot Order" section. Ensure that your hard drive (where your operating system is installed) is set as the first boot device. Check Hard Drive Connections: Open your computer case (if it's a desktop) or check the bottom/side panels (if it's a laptop) to ensure that the hard drive cables are properly connected. If you have a laptop, you may want to contact the manufacturer for assistance, especially if it's still under warranty. Test the Hard Drive: If possible, connect the hard drive to another computer to check if it's recognized. You can also use diagnostic tools, such as the manufacturer's disk diagnostic utility or third-party tools, to test the health of the hard drive. Check for External Media: Ensure there are no external devices (USB drives, DVDs, etc.) connected to your computer. Sometimes, the system might be trying to boot from an external source. Windows Repair/Recovery: If you have a Windows installation or recovery disk, you can use it to access repair options. Boot from the installation or recovery disk and select repair options like "Startup Repair" or "System Restore." Reinstall or Repair Windows: If all else fails, you may need to consider reinstalling or repairing your Windows operating system. This process will vary depending on your version of Windows. Seek Professional Help: If you are not comfortable performing these tasks or if the issue persists, it may be best to seek help from a professional technician or your computer's manufacturer. Remember to back up important data before attempting any major changes to your system. If the issue persists or if you are unsure about any of the steps, it's advisable to consult with a professional technician for assistance.

Hi there. I am using Intel core 2 duo processor which is 64 bit and supports ahci with sata 2 connection. What I have noticed is in regedit setting instead of iAstoreav for my pc it is showing as "iastoreavc" is displayed but content 0 is available. What can I do here? What is the major deference? I couldn't find the AHCI option in the BIOS of my 10 year old HP Pavillion DC5800. Anyone know where that option is? I've just bought a new SSD and it is sitting unused inside my PC . How do you do you install AHCI in to a PC? This is where a PC can be annoying. An SSD is just another storage disk which my PC should recognise without making me have to work. Any tips anyone?
Can the second method be used if my sata controller is set to RST instead of IDE? I have a Lenovo 256 SSD, the BIOS Sata controller setting is set to RST. When I tried to switch to AHCI, it said that doing so will erase all current data. Is there a way to change to AHCI and keep all my current data?
I have separate settings in my Asus Rampage III Extreme BIOS for SATA 3G and SATA 6G ports. Both have AHCI and IDE options. My OS is installed on a SSD connected to a SATA 6G port and I have other HDDs connected to the SATA 3G ports. I used the "change registry" option and then went to BIOS and changed both SATA 3G and SATA 6G to AHCI. When I reboot, I get the inaccessible boot device BSOD because if I don't restart in safe mode as you well advise, only the SATA 2G will be changed to AHCI. So I rebooted in safe mode and all worked but... I went back to Regedit and noticed that iaStorAV\StartOverride\0 is set back to "3"... But the iaStorV\Start is still "0", while the storahci\StartOverride folder is now gone and replaced by storahci\Enum. Is this normal? May this be related to my SATA 6G having a Marvell driver? I also noticed that I now have two MArvell drivers installed: 91.xx and 92.xx... Is this also normal?
Hello, thanks for the video I did the 2nd method, and everything was ok, but after 2nd reboot it says that my windows is not activated and I need to activate it (Windows 10 pro, it was activated before, but I don't have serial key now). Is there any solution to that problem?

I cant start my windows bro, when i start screen this "reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key"... My bios is default and default set ahci...
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
Check Boot Order:
Access your computer's BIOS/UEFI settings.
Check Hard Drive Connections:
Open your computer case (if it's a desktop) or check the bottom/side panels (if it's a laptop) to ensure that the hard drive cables are properly connected.
If you have a laptop, you may want to contact the manufacturer for assistance, especially if it's still under warranty.
Test the Hard Drive:
If possible, connect the hard drive to another computer to check if it's recognized.
You can also use diagnostic tools, such as the manufacturer's disk diagnostic utility or third-party tools, to test the health of the hard drive.
Check for External Media:
Ensure there are no external devices (USB drives, DVDs, etc.) connected to your computer. Sometimes, the system might be trying to boot from an external source.
Windows Repair/Recovery:
If you have a Windows installation or recovery disk, you can use it to access repair options.
Boot from the installation or recovery disk and select repair options like "Startup Repair" or "System Restore."
Reinstall or Repair Windows:
If all else fails, you may need to consider reinstalling or repairing your Windows operating system. This process will vary depending on your version of Windows.
Seek Professional Help:
If you are not comfortable performing these tasks or if the issue persists, it may be best to seek help from a professional technician or your computer's manufacturer.
Remember to back up important data before attempting any major changes to your system. If the issue persists or if you are unsure about any of the steps, it's advisable to consult with a professional technician for assistance.

It's working and don't touch
i have no iaStorAV folder.
u saved me ^^ thx

Administrator rights
Did you ever have your issue figured out? I ran into the same problem.
Second method worked for me
thx so much!
Hello, thanks for the video

Good afternoon, have you solved your problem?
@@HetmanRecovery Yes sir, Already solved it, unplugin the SATA cable from my HDD :D, btw thankss for the video, it worked!
So does our pc get formatted or something after this & do we have reinstall windows after changing bios and also does it solve my slow ssd problem.
Please help me anyone
No it does not need formatting. Your ssd might need replacement if it's underperforming, check its health if its low then you need to replace it.
