Oh that first coat you got at The Salvation Army is a dream! Definitely MY sort of coat :)… but speechless when you got the orangy one! And the button situation.... perfect! Buy the ones you like, a lot of times I tend to change them and the coats end up looking so much more unique and expensive! OMG, great finds. Well done Erica.
@@TinyAcorn I'm afraid the best way, for me, it's a trip to the haberdashery. I can try the buttons on the coat and see if they're going to fit through the holes, and if the colours will work together, if the style goes, etc. Also check other jackets or coats you already own, the buttons might be already there! If still no luck and you can wait, wait for 'The Ones', or buy anything in the same or similar colour so they go unnoticeable until you find what you're looking for. I do hope this helps Erica. Here in the UK we mostly thrift at charity shops and some have gone up on price lately (in my opinion) but at least if something is a bit overpriced you know the money goes to a good cause. That actually helps me to decide quicker if I really want something or not, but it still needs to worth the high price though. Thank you for taking us around Erica

Community Thrift is really hit or miss. Sometimes you go there and walk out with the most AMAZING haul and other times you're lucky to find a belt in your size.
My favourite thing Abby bought was the vintage shirt she tried on with your jeans - so good on her! My favourite thing Erica bought was the denim frilled shirt but it was hard to pick! Loved watching this, love both your different styles ❤
I live in SF and have been to all of these except the last one. The Geary St. S.A. prices are def all over the place, I've never found much there. I rarely go to Haight St because the prices are high, but Held Over tends to be a bit more affordable, it's similar to L St in NYC. Community Thrift, you're totally right, it's not something to seek out but just if you happen to be walking by type of place, prices aren't bad but it's pretty sparse and not a ton of merch inside. I tend to frequent the smaller Goodwills like Hunters Point 3rd St and Daly City Mission St. There's also a Goodwill "Boutique" in West Portal that is small, well-organized, and tends to have nicer brands, so the prices are higher but the stuff is better quality. There's a nice upscale vintage in Hayes Valley called Ver Unica, it's small and more expensive but verryyy nice items. I'd also recommend trying some of the smaller thrift stores in the Mission, they come and go over the years but there are good items to be found at the more boutique-y places on Valencia and Mission St. Overall SF is not my fav city to thrift in, if you're really looking for a haul East Bay and South Bay are better. "Hella Jam" on youtube does great east bay hauls!
Aw thanks! Yes I do curl it with a 3/4 inch curling iron away from my face. Then pull the curl down so it’s more of a wave and not so bouncy. Hope that helps!

I’m from Chicago and I’ve been thrift thing for many many years I feel over here the best are the Salvation Army the Goodwill’s the prices are too high over here people are not that into vintage clothing wear so I really get to pick a lot of stuff for myself that other people overlook my gain I’ve always been into vintage wear thank you for sharing
Wow there's a great selection of secondhand shops in San Francisco. I am guessing it's because it is a city. Wish there were a few around my area. Btw I love the clothes you got especially the coats :)
Upside of thrifting in big cities is that there are unique pieces and more vintage. Downside is the prices are much higher and thrift culture in downtowns can also make places picked over earlier and overly cutated. I like suburbs of big cities.
We don't have a SA here- our only thrift store is Goodwill, nor do we have any of the big consignment stores. I will check SA in Seattle when I go there.
I am lucky to live between the Salvation Army and Community Thrift. I go to both regularly, especially the Salvation Army. You guys have good eyes for fashion!

TOTALLY! I felt like the Goodwill on Haight was more like a cheaper vintage store. It was not thrift prices in my opinion.
