- Come with me to sell/ trade in my old clothes at Buffalo Exchange and Crossroads here in San Francisco. I started out with 3 big kitchen trash bags full of clothes and hit up the Crossroads on Irving Street, and then we headed to Haight Street to the Buffalo Exchange and Crossroads there to sell the rest. Do you think pricing has anything to do with your mindset while thrifting? I know for me, at my regular super cheapo thrift store (especially on sale days -- and I mostly only go on sale days), everything looks cute and I throw it all into my cart and go home with about 80% of it. But at places like Savers or Crossroads/Buffalo Exchange I'm a little more thoughtful about what I pull off the rack/try on/take home because it's all more expensive. Like that Ralph Lauren gingham shirt, to me, was ADORABLE, and if it was under $10 it would be a no brainer, but if it was more expensive I could see being more cautious about it.
Luciana Bonifazi Yes it does come to mind for sure. I didn’t pay a lot of attention to the prices since I didn’t actually pay for anything- I used my trade value to pay for it. So I felt like I got some great deals!

I loved that knit dress! Thankfully my mom is a knitter and If I get a similar picture she can probably hook me up 😂 with extra sentimental value attatched!

I love the pieces you purchased, especially the white short coat and mules.
Love everything (except the black lace-up shoe...they look like what my husband wears!) But the rest of the things you got look great and mix well with other things I remember from other vlogs.
I just loved the crochet pumps you tried on at the second store. I wear 10 to 11 in shoes so it is really rare to find cute ones at the thrift store but occasionally I get lucky.
What I love about your videos is how you always style all your finds at the end. I see you get stuff and sometimes think there is no way that could llok good and then at the end it is like you make it look awesome.

Sort of but not all the time. To be honest I got home and was like “I have no idea how to style this shirt!” And then I just tried a few things and it came together. Haha

This was fun, but I am sure a lot of work for you. How long were you guys out and about? And hopefully you guys had your rations like bottle water, fruit and other nibble items. You were looking a bit glazed at the end. I saw a few things that I thought you should of picked up. The vertical strip sweater dress, it was soo cute on you(I understand the armpits were big but you know how to make things work). You could have layered turtle neck or blouse/dress shirt. Also I really wish you would have tried on the red dress. I like that kind of back in the day styles and really would have liked to see it on. And yes you need a pair of cowboy boots. I can see you styling these with your existing wardrobe. My favorite item you picked up in this video is the Stetson hat. I don't go to these type of shops to often, because the prices can be a bit high and it adds up if you find too many things you like. lol I have overheard store owner tell someone that they only buy for the current season they are stocking up their racks with and current styles. I think like you suggested that you should just sort thru them and make sure you over everything in those bags and pack them for that season. That way when the season come around you can see if anything there you are inspired again by and take the tub to the stores and try again, lol Mmmmmm…. I could not chat you on IG because it on my computer and it does not give me the option. I was the one really interested in the fringe jacket (Daniel Boone) and you reached out to me on YT comments and asked me to contact you that way in IG (ATL2KC is me on IG). I am a basic social media user and still not accustomed to how to manipulate their functions. My daughter said she will help me, after giving me a hard time. Tee Hee How soon they forget, we taught them to walk, talk, potty train and feed themselves. So I am stopping by there (with laptop) on Saturday. since I will be that way after taking groceries and other supplies to my mom's. I don't want to miss out on a opportunity like that again. I just want to say thanks for the consideration. I did really enjoy this outing but you guys kind of lost steam toward the end (understandably so when doing a marathon). Thanks for sharing and blessing to you in the days to come.
Hey Denise! Yes we were so fried because the first store was super understaffed and there was only one lady with a ton of people. It took a really long time for her to go through my stuff while having to ring customers up etc. Poor lady! I was understanding and everything but it turned into a 2 hour affair. 😱I think our whole day was 5 hours. Pretty crazy. Haha. That hat looks amazing on you! I've been trying to find a western hat that doesn't cost a gazillion dollars for ages but still have had no luck. Also, it's so cute your husband tries to get you to buy cowboy boots. I currently own 4 pairs and I am just getting started hahaha
I know! Good hats are so expensive! Also I feel weird buying them online because I don’t know my head size. Eventually I’ll get some cowboy boots but I feel like they might be difficult to style. 🤷🏼♀️

She also styles a lot of vintage pieces and she is the only person I know who loves cowboy boots more than I do! Also, I think they would be the easiest to style around the fall time. I know there are a lot of tunes out there that are free to use or via a basic fee subscription, so I don't understand why this type is what is chosen in a good many thrifting video.
I honestly am not throwing shade, and I am not about to start comparing content creators etc, but I have to share that I sadly cannot consume this music more than one video. 😌
This is so sad when one wishes to binge watch great content otherwise. It is not that I am out of the loop with music either as feel am the opposite. Tx for letting me share.
**So great to see you get amazing finds in vintage clothing especially as, like Beth, you are so fortunate to be the ideal size for fashion from earlier days. It is not that way for many as we either personally know and as many thrifting/vintage hunting channel personalities share about.

If I could play whatever I wanted on these videos I would be playing music that I actually listen to and love like Bob Dylan, the War on Drugs, Day Wave to name a few. I’m constantly on the hunt for new music for my videos. It can be very time consuming but I do my best!

I am in the Seattle area so I think we have a Plato's closet not sure about the shops you went to! Great finds at the 1st shop!

Love the Zara jacket and the blue hat such a cute combo but my fave was the white Marine Layer chore coat, what a find! BTW is that the corduroy Everlane chore coat that you are wearing, if so how does it compare to the denim one? I really want it but I have the denim one and rationalizing both is difficult , but if I try hard enough maybe I can. 🤔😂
Veronica Lopez Oh man I love the corduroy one. I find that denim and corduroy are two totally different looks. I like that the corduroy one has a little bit more of a vintage feel and a bit more interesting than a denim chore coat- however a denim chore coat is so great because it goes with everything!

I used to sell my stuff only at Buffalo Exchange but I noticed they are so picky now. I used to make a 100 to 200 dollars every time I went. Now I am lucky if I make 40. The last time I did what you did and took the remainder of the clothes to the 2 Plato closets in my town after not being able to sell that much at BE. I made some good money but it is exhausting. Love all the looks and I am a clog girl too.
Holly A It’s definitely hit or miss sometimes. I’ve saved the clothes they didn’t buy and taken them back to the same store when another buyer was working and sold more of the items. 😝

NEW NORM TRUMP I've heard it suggested that cropped trousers can make you look taller, because it appears your legs are too long for them, if that makes sense!
I believe (hopefully ) your intelligence allows you to use words more than “cute” to express your interest in particular clothes. English is my 3rd language... and I can find other options.
