First off I'm so sorry to hear you got a foot injury. Couldn't have been nearly as much fun to hike when everything underfoot feels the same. Super trails with a much different character, very picturesque. I did find myself looking for snakes in the less traveled area glad you didn't surprise any. Wishing you a quick and full recovery and all my best wishes.
Thx Archie! Foot is going to be okay. Yeah, the shoes were a little bit annoying 😂. And I was definitely looking for snakes the whole way and was kind of surprised I didn’t see one. Hope you are doing well!
Sometimes I think that but then there’s always some yahoo that appears out of nowhere running down the trail past me all geared up 😂😂. But I do think I was the last person on top of north dome last year before winter.
I just did this hike on Tuesday! 5-21-24 It was great, but I could hardly see Wapma falls before the footbridge. My friend didn't want to cross the water at Tueehlala, so I dropped my pack to cross the water. I didn't go all the way to the footbridge, though. We started so early and had the trail to ourselves, so that was great! I wish I was able to go to Rancheria, but I am really not that fast of a hiker. Beautiful footage, as always! I agree, I always felt like this was what led to John Muirs passing 😢
Wow, that's crazy! The water must have been higher in the morning. It's so awesome that you got to see it at its peak. Thanks for coming along with me to see Rancheria!
@@theyosemiteguyd I would like to try this one again and go all the way to the footbridge. I got a little nervous being alone and having left all my stuff behind 🙃 😅
Its sad, one of the deciding factors for the damn was that there can't be two valleys and hetch hetchy got the axe. Still a beautiful place, but saddens me knowing it could be more beautiful.
Absolutely, I feel it. Also, if we had two Yosemite valleys I can’t help but think that would help the overcrowding situation as well. Like couldn’t they build the damn a little further down?
Did you need a Yosemite reservation for this area? I believe you pay to get in but I’m just trying to find things we can do without the park reservation as they are unavailable the day we need!
i dont like the fact that you can not go below the high water mark.. bs.. not sf lake... irritating... they should tear it down.. raise the damn at don pedro.. not much capacity at hh... bs.. intitled ppl ... should not keep people out of the body of water...
sf was supposed to build a road that would connect the park to hh.. that never happened. BS.. so i feel they should not have the most prestine water only to mess it up with chlorine.... pathetic...
Loved your recitation of John Muirs words.....😢
Ty man. His journals are a really great read. It only seemed appropriate to share some of it here.
I love the poetry and tribute to John Muir. Very beautiful hike!
Thank you my love 😍
It’s on the list for my visit next year! That burrito looked gooood! Stay well my friend
It was amazing 😊 It's definitely a must-see, especially in late spring, depending on how much time you have.
Sweet !! Can’t wait to watch this one :) I’ve never been and the footage looks incredible !
The power of Wapama is real right now!! 😄

Wow, the best video I’ve watched all week. I bet you’re the first person to hike above Rancheria Falls this year.

You’re good
Hey buddy I’m a follower of your wonderful Yosemite videos. What is the name of the waterfall at the 13:08 minute of this video?
That is the lower Rancheria Falls :) thx for watching!
until when it is flowing

Yes you need reservations for this area.
I live near there and backpacked out there solo in April of a drought year. Something is angry out there. I’m not an airy fairy. I won’t go back.

they throw a bunch of chlorine so wtf does it matter????
