This sucks, I hope the guy gets his stuff back, It wouldn't surprise me if he moves as he'll never feel safe there again. Thanks for bringing this to are attention tony
What a gutting feeling 😑. I hope this guy gets his collection back. As watch collectors and enthusiasts, we know each one of our watches has a story and special meaning to us.
I do hope this guy recovers his collection, although i very much doubt these pieces will be for sale on the open market and will probably be stolen to order.
@@mettagirl1it means there are clients that want those exact, rare watches, and they don’t care how they were obtained. And if they never intend to sell, then nobody will ever know.
Terrible! They will def have a hard time unloading those pieces. My man you have a multi-million dollar collection without a safe? Not blaming him for what happened but that is a huge mistake. A safe may not have stopped them but it should would have slowed them down and make it very hard to find and take the watches. Your collection is in the millions - its worth 25-40k for a bank level vault that could even be hidden so its hard to break into and find!
it has become pretty common (since its been popularized by ring or simplysafe security systems) and it is simply easier to use wifi plus wifi jammers are relatively new tech the thieves have used (at least around LA), its only been widely reported maybe less than a year ago and the cops are trying to crackdown on it, they can find and detect wifi jammers too but sometimes its too late by then so there’s a chance if you havent updated your security lately, it will be vulnerable to such devices with that said, it looked like an inside job so it might not even matter if they knew their way around the house
That guy’s wife is Liberte Chan, who flaunts their wealth on her social media. His watches are very visible on some of their posts. Be careful what you show to the world.
He probably thought he had it covered with his security system, but yes watches of those values belong in a highly rated fireproof safe. He would have lost them in a fire too.
I saw this on the news…unreal! If you have a collection like that your security has to be super redundant.
Yep
This is upsetting to hear! People work hard for their things and nobody has a right to do this
I agree.
This is totally gut-wrenching, and I feel so badly for this guy. Thank goodness no one was hurt.
Yeah, a lot of irreplaceable watches gone.
Great job with the breaking news Tony! I have friends at KTLA, interesting to see the clip. I hope these losers get caught
Thanks man. I got a list of all the ref/serial numbers and sent it to several watch dealers. Hopefully it will help.
This sucks, I hope the guy gets his stuff back,

Agreed.
2:47 "A story you'll only see on 5". And, of course, Talking Timepieces with Tony! Hope the guy was insured, although probably scant consolation.
🤙🤙

Hey Tony, where do you think is safest place for watches of this magnitude? Safety deposit box at bank?
There was about 100 watches. I have the list. Pretty crazy. A safe would most likely be his best bet.
@@talkingtimepieceswithtony thanks

You are probably right about that.
@@talkingtimepieceswithtony What does stolen to order mean?

Damn some guy just offered me some pateks at 40% resell I'm gonna buy a couple to keep in my collection privately good looking out 😉

Damn, those are some nice watches. That would be so awful. I really hope these bastards get caught and this gentleman is able to get some back! 😭
I agree.
How common is it to have an alarm system that doesnt have a landline back up? Especially at this level of a house?
Don’t know.

I wonder if he has a cleaning crew. Someone knew those watches were there (duh).
🤷
His wife is Liberte Chan, and his watches are being flexed on her social media. Easy target.
Tpg Hollywood Hills home invasion came to mind straight away.
Definitely some people that knew where to look.
I’m getting sick of these dee eye see kay riders who are out here to steal peoples stuff. Nothing worse than a thief.
Yup!
So sad.Hopefully he can get the watches back.
Yeah, definitely sucks.

Haven’t seen the page.

Anyone see a safe?
🤷
Why didn’t he have his watches in a safe in the bank didn’t learn anything from Archie luxury

I would imagine he doesn’t watch that channel
@OP. I hear you, but it’s not really about that. It’s the guy’s home. He shouldn’t have to do anything extraordinary, lest he share the fault.
So fucked up
Yep
Tony!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
