Holy crap. I remember being five and watching this and hoping i would be the "at home player" never realizing my parents would have to send my name it lol. This is like a time machine
Looks like that this is from early 1984 that reintroduced the original Circus setting just before Bob Bell left his Bozo role to Joey D'Auria. It was also around the time when Bozo got even more screen time to become an hosting duty to the main ''Circus Manager'' Frazier Thomas as he was still around presenting on the show just up until his passing in 1985 (with Pat Hurley taking over his role for a short period of time) which made Bozo's hosting duties becoming more common in its later years.
As a kid watching this, I used to think, wow Bozo is a little odd. 49 year old me watching this and now I realize that Bozo was 4 or 5 drinks in by this point in the show..
My wife was once an at home player and I would love to find that show somewhere. I think her mom still has the certificate that came with it so maybe that can be a clue
Bob Bell was the actor who played Bozo in this video. He was in the role from 1960, when WGN-TV had a predecessor Bozo program from Tribune Tower that primarily showed cartoons, until his retirement from the station in 1984. By then, WGN-TV's "Bozo's Circus" (later "The Bozo Show") had become a national phenomenon from its West Bradley Place studio. It was also aired nationally as WGN-TV was a superstation.
@@tfinferno8611 Fact: According to Dan Castelleneta, who is the voice of Krusty the Clown, Krusty's voice was based on Bob Bell's voice from WGN-TV's Bozo the Clown.
@@purpletomatocinema that was a Bozo in a different market, not Chicago. This Bozo show was cancelled due to low ratings and increasing competition from childrens' TV networks.
I loved the grand prize game!!!!!

This show is why I’m the beer pong champion of 2002. I always wanted to win a Bunn Coffemaker as a kid (for some inexplicable reason). 😂

Lottta friggin prizes on this show! Never thought of that.
Bob was the funniest man in Chicago at the time.
Next to Richard Daley?
Was Bozo drunk?!.lol.
He was slurring his words😹
He sounds sauced
agreed🍹🍹🍹🍹
He sounded drunk. That was Bob Bell. That Bozo seemed scary to me. I love Joey D’Aria. That was the recent Bozo.
Yea I think he was
Bob was great as Bozo...and Roy made a great sidekick.
I watch this many time as a child

Bozo had a little extra help on this one
Every once in a while a kid would miss bucket number 1 😮
Yes..that would make me so sad.
My wife was once an at home player and I would love to find that show somewhere. I think her mom still has the certificate that came with it so maybe that can be a clue
Sigh...Bob and Roy and Ned are missed....Bob should have guest starred on the Simpsons as his voice inspired Dan.
UMM Bozo sounds a little off ( YA WANNA TAKE A RIDE IN MY VAN MIKEY!!)
Bozo is Great clown 😎👍
Jim Lahey as bozo
😹😹😹😹
2:21 “so Michael , does your mom like guys with big red noses?”
And now we know how a generation came up with beer pong. Thanks Bozo.
This was sometime from 1982-84 before Joey took over
Where can I find more episodes?
I got it from the Internet Archives
I was an at home player. I still have some of the prizes I won.
I watched this all the time as a little kid. I thought it was so cool. Watching it as an adult It's creepy asf, and bozo seems a little tipsy
I thought so too even when I was a kid. But I still loved the show
Jenny was beautiful...just like the cake...Roy was also so clumsy as Cookie.
That Bozo doll the girl won was creepy looking lol it's prolly haunted
Who was the actor who played Bozo?
Good question, I believe this one aired in Chicago so the actor was probably Marshall Brodien
@@purpletomatocinema Marshall played Wizzo on the show, not Bozo.
@@mrmcclear Really, I thought he played Bozo. Idk why I thought he did.

Yes
Sounds like chris farley
6:56 cooky lol
He sounds drunk 😂
If I had to play a clown and be surrounded by annoying kids for over 30 years, I'd be boozing it up too.😂
That’s kinda rude to call them annoying bro
RIGHT there AH HA!
Is it true he got fired for cussing live
I don't know, I'll check and get back to you

Bob Bell, this Bozo, retired. The Bozo who took up after him in Chicago, Joey D'Auria continued this series until its cancellation.
Uhh

Was he drunk?
