Hi, I would like to know what is, or the best or profitable suggestion Ninche for: Custom Tshirts and apparel? This is an issue I see with people not just being forward and sharing resources. After 1-2 years in this particular business is it possible to pinpoint and direct new startups the the right direction in choosing so we don't find ouselves in the wrong audience? 🙂
Michelle, I watched this for a couple reasons.. FIRST-- I wanted more info on starting a print on demand business as I'm 65 retired, can't work outside any more- and need desparately to build up income to replace my less than half social security check-- and I'm checking out different videos to see who'e telling me the truth and who's "selling" me something. I am pleased to day YOU have an EXCELLENT video- all INFO- no fluff or hype... THANK YOU FOR THAT- and you speak so clearly- and at the perfect speed I can learn from you-- some of the folks in the other vids have good info- but they talked so fast got me confused.. (I'm OLDER remember). Second- I watched it because you are an absolutely GORGEOUS young lady-- so elegant and I HAD to see what you had to say-- and am so very glad I did. I got more VALUABLE info from this than all the others.. includeing a course. I'm hoping I've typed this correctly- as I have had eye surgery and the small print on here is HARD for me to see-- everything else is fine. AGAIN thank you for the EXCELLENT video..
Hi Michelle, thank you for being so poignant and specific with your information, I learned a lot. I have created a business called threads of knowledge. I will be printing badges of philosophers who have added value to society. I'm having trouble building my site because it's very time consuming but my idea is good and once I get it going I will be able to reach out to multiple niche markets. Thanks specifically for your tips about shipping and mock-up generators. Cheers.
I run 75 designs all together with Print on Demand on Shopify's platform, Google is our try to lean on Shopping campaign is our core of the business, when Facebook ads is rather too complicated to bring all designs to create campaigns, so, I am holding for a while and considering Google ads is our way out. Hope to get our first sale the soonest. Thank you.

Thanks for a quick, cut to the chase basics without endless waffling. My take away from this…. Get a niche and as a start , I will to the printing myself, since I have a sublimation printer and plotter. Besides, I enjoy the making /creating process, so as a side hustle for the moment, it should work. We will be relocating to another country soon, which will also redefine a good selling product. Thanks again! 💐
I just want to ask you one question, i can do the printing my self too but i was looking for guide to how to actually add option for customize printing on my shopify page. Can you help me with that?
This was so informative and clear, thank you so much. I'm only 14, but I want to know what's possible and viable. Thanks again for your clear communication.
But how do you know that your items are selling? If the website company(where I'm posting my items) doesn't disclose how many items have really been sold, then how do I get the commission? The site may show zero sales , when actually my items may have sold?!!?
Great question. In this instance, the print-on-demand app would be connected to your Shopify store. In your Shopify store you have complete access to your checkout, orders, inventory, etc. to see exactly when orders are placed on your store. - Dirk
Wanting to print my poetry on shirts, mugs, keychains, etc and market to lit people (like literature, ha). I'm starting from ground zero here and this was a great and thorough video on how to get started thank you!
You can take a smaller picture- and convert it to an SVG file and it will print beautifully at any size increase-- but that way yo ucan increase it first.. then change it back to jpb or pgn.
I am just trying to learn about this. My question is, why don't the customer buy straight from the print on demand company that is fulfilling their order? Wouldn't' it be cheaper for them to buy it straight from the P.O.D company? What is the value that the seller is providing by using a third party service to fulfil and ship the order while selling for an increased price?
First, Michelle... you are adorable. I could watch you all day. This will be my first dive into the world of POD. I'm a naturally born artist/designer, so I feel like this will be a wonderful vehicle in helping me finally run my own business from home. It has been a loooong time coming. My current research on POD companies lead me to the shopify website, then I came here for the insights. Until now, I always thought that Shopify was simply a web hosting service with shopping features. I didn't realize that it is such a great source of online business information and a preferred resource for POD integration. Because of my vast design versatility and experience and variety of artistic interests, I'm looking to create 3 POD lines of products --- Home decor | Apparel & accessories | Electronic device enhancements. So my question to you, Michelle --- Wouldn't it be best for me to have 3 separate websites or perhaps one website with different categories, but 3 different Etsy accounts for the shopify website to integrate with? Is that even possible through your platform?
Hi, Shonté. That's a great question, and congratulations on diving into the ecommerce space! Creating three separate stores would depend on your products. While they are different categories are they still cohesive to a specific style? If so, you can definitely create one Etsy, and one Shopify. If the products you design are vastly different designs from one and another you may consider creating seperate businesses.

Hi Michelle! Thank you so much for the interesting video. I am curious to know more about how to launch a startup fashion business. and what do you recommend me to do if I have specific designs that I want to make? is there any website or tailor services that can create for me the pieces?
Hello. Does anyone here know if I can have multiple POD suppliers connected to my Shopify store? For example Printify and Printful together? When processing an order, does the system know which supplier it should give information to in order to ship the order? Or I can only have one POD supplier connected to one e-shop.
Hi there! Yes, you can sell products from multiple fulfillment services from the same Shopify store. When you import products from the likes of Printful and Printify, they will be linked to the relevant fulfillment services within your admin and when an order is placed you can fulfill the order with the correct service.
@@learnwithshopify Thank you for keeping in touch. But I do not know how. I think it's clear. You wrote to me that I can have multiple POD suppliers/applications connected to one e-shop. How the system processes an order in which the customer chooses one product from POD for example Printful and second product from POD for example from Printify. Does this mean he will receive two packages from two different suppliers at different times and pay for 2 different shipping? Even if he made one order at the e-shop?
The customer will receive multiple packages if they've ordered products that ship from different suppliers. The shipping they pay at checkout depends on your shipping settings. Many print on demand stores will offer flat rate shipping, so the customer wouldn't be paying multiple shipping rates at checkout.
I recently learned about shopify and the gelato app and I'd like to start a business to help provide for myself (I'm a student and don't have income), but I don't really know how it works administratively speaking, I mean, I know if I start a business I need to declare it and probably pay taxes but I don't know exactly how it works and if I end up paying more taxes than what I earn there's no point
Hi there, Lucas. Taxes are a very important aspect of any business, and it's really important to know your tax obligations when starting a business. Depending on where you are located, your obligations will differ, so we recommend reaching out to a local tax expert for information around what your obligations will look like. I have a clothing store on Shopify, I have my own inventory in a wharehouse and we directly ship to customers. Now, am I able to add to our current Shopify a print on demand option, Id like to see t-shirts with designs we do but on a print on demand platform. ??? Thanks for this video.
Everybody says that you "don't pay until someone buys a product"-- but that's not true. some "front" the product and I have to pay them FIRST- theh the actual contracted printer charges ME for the product later!... Hi there T! Your payouts for orders on your store are usually deposited within 2-5 business days, depending on the payment gateway you are using. Payment to the supplier will vary depending on the supplier and how they are setup. For example, if you are using a Print on Demand supplier that integrates directly into your store, then the customer will place the order, the payment will then go to you and then the supplier will charge you for the order fulfillment. -Shay
Under normal conditions, will the supplier charge me BEFORE or AFTER my payout has been deposited? Of course, depending on the payment gateway I am using. Thank you once again for a response.
Your payment to the supplier will usually come out before the payout is fully processed, but some suppliers may be able to offer flexibility on that. -Shay

i am still confuse on POD set up, does the set up give my customers room to ccreate their designs on my shopify site or i have to create my designs and jusyt sell to my clients
Hi, I am interested in print on demand for my starting business. But I do not have budget. I am afraid to have financial problems with print on demand. For example, when a product gets sold, I will need to pay it in advance. So when a lot of products are sold, I will need a big budget to bridge the moment that I need to pay in advance, and the moment that I receive the money of the selling. Correct or not? I find it difficult that I need to pay these products in advance, the moment something is sold.
Hi there, An. It is important to have some liquid available to pay for your first orders as they come in. Most shops don't experience a massive influx of orders within the first bit of time while operating, so you will have time to build up a budget to allow for larger amounts of orders. You're also freely available to let your customers know that production has been stopped for a time if you ever do encounter a moment while operating when you don't have enough funds to produce future orders. All print on demand services are different, and may operate a bit differently than what you've described above. It's a great idea to connect with potential printing partners directly to ask them about this process. In most situations, however, once you have received your first payout from your first few orders, that should provide you with enough capital to continue making slightly larger orders, and the cycle will continue. You won't need a massive budget to get started with this - the print on demand model is built around helping folks with little liquid cash to start a business - but you will want to have some liquid to make sure you're set up to process orders as they come in. We have more information on Print on Demand businesses in our blog here: bit.ly/3LwCWDW. We're happy to chat with you more about this! Just let us know if you have any additional questions!
Hi! You certainly could! You could have the logo printed on merchandise, for example. Have you signed up for an account to try the Shopify platform out for yourself? You can sign up right here: bit.ly/2vCA0Dl!
Hey, Steven! There's a few Print on demand companies that creates bags, you can take a look at a few of them on our Shopify app store here: bit.ly/3LQOO3T. A couple of popular ones that we recommend however are Printful: bit.ly/3sU9XDp, Printify: bit.ly/38Exa5Q, and Contrado: bit.ly/3PAWXfL.
Hi there, Kara! Thanks for reaching out. Shopify allows you to build an online store, add your products to it, and receive payments from your customers. You can decide where you want to sell-it could just be to your own country, or you could decide to ship worldwide. How you get paid depends on which payment options you decide to offer to customers. For example, if you enable PayPal on your store, customers can pay with their PayPal accounts and PayPal will process the funds and pay out the money to you. I'd recommend checking out our FAQ page for more information on how Shopify works: bit.ly/37ALrNG. Do you know yet what you might like to sell?
okay so i know im late but i would like to know one thing, if someone were to buy does the third party have the location of the buyer or do i have to get it?
Hey, great question! When a customer places an order in your store, they will enter their shipment details at checkout. These details will then be visible to the fulfillment company in order for them to ship out the products on your behalf. You can read more about this business model right here: bit.ly/35r7p3p. Hope this helps!

I can't stop watching this video
Im really intrested dont know how it work. I have registered but dont know waht to do.
Everybody says that you "don't pay until someone buys a product"-- but that's not true. some "front" the product and I have to pay them FIRST- theh the actual contracted printer charges ME for the product later!... It's NOT FREE--- KINDA- but not really--- I don't have lots of cash to back up orders for the "funding lag" created by contracted printers doing their own charging.
ANY SUGGESTIONS???
I want to start a small personalized shirt business, and I need more ideas to come up with.

Does shopify give us emails and contact info of customers for retragetting??
Good video. Question: When a product gets sold, when and how do I and the supplier get paid? Thank you for your prompt response.
-Shay

Can there be a general store with print on demand?
Great content, thank you!
We're happy to chat with you more about this! Just let us know if you have any additional questions!

Do I have to subscribe for multiple Shopify accounts for multiple niches ?!....
Which company is good for creating bags with pictures?
Hey, Steven! There's a few Print on demand companies that creates bags, you can take a look at a few of them on our Shopify app store here: bit.ly/3LQOO3T. A couple of popular ones that we recommend however are Printful: bit.ly/3sU9XDp, Printify: bit.ly/38Exa5Q, and Contrado: bit.ly/3PAWXfL.
I need help with the store. Like how do i put my merch up for sell? Wherr do i sell it? And how do i get paid?
