Uline is horrible... 95% of you are getting product from China just have your supplier get the shipping boxes for you as well as customize packaging. Hell of a lot cheaper.

I did all the shipping for a long time myself but you are totally right about switching to a fulfillment center. When I started I was fulfilling all the orders myself and everything was fine but when I got some traction it really got unmanageable. Looking for a decently priced fulfillment company was tedious to say the least. I ended up using a company called Powerhouse Pro Fulfillment Center and they really helped out a lot. The other prices I received from a lot of these companies was insane and took me a while to find someone reasonable to where I can still make money.

I have a couple of questions: if a customer orders several products that maybe individually would be packed in a small box or envelope and then at the time of ordering I find myself having to put everything in a larger box (which will have a greater weight and cost) how do I anticipate this situation and decide the right price for shipping?
And then I would like to ask you if you could better explain the part in which we can pay both me and the customer for shipping, in this case how is I communicated the part that I will pay or in general how it works?

I understand what you mean with regards to the shipping multiple products being more expensive. Have you already implemented weight related conditions on your shipping rates? bit.ly/3zmZEu9.
You could also consider using Carrier Calculated Shipping on your store to dynamically calculate the shipping cost in checkout. Shopify Shipping is a free offering that lets you use Shopify's carrier accounts - bit.ly/3oPQPUA.
For your last question I believe you were asking about the 2:54 part of the video that discusses how to charge for shipping. If you want both you and the customer to pay for shipping, then you would simply increase your product prices to cover a portion of the shipping cost. You would then offer free shipping, which essentially means you cover the remainder of the shipping cost out of your own profits bit.ly/3P7pvfz.

What about packing labels for warehouse staff? Does shopify allow you to print these without prices?

Hi, Suze. Thank you for posting this question. We'd definitely recommend getting a PO Box, especially if you feel that it makes your business look more professional. On that note, some merchants do feel more comfortable not using their home addresses as well, so that's another great reason to get a PO Box as long as you don't mind the extra cost. Cheers!

Hi Steve! We don't have a direct link to a supplier for that kind of packaging. I recommend checking in with your local office supply stores or post office/shipping providers to see what they have available.

Hi there! The boxes in this video were chosen based on appearance and what we had on hand for the video. I don't have any specific information on where the box came from or it's size. That being said, any given carrier or business supply company would be able to offer a box size suitable for your products. Hi! Within the admin, there isn't a way to add shipping as a separate cost to a product, so this would simply be calculated by you and added to the product price. Otherwise, shipping costs are only added at checkout once the customer has input their shipping details.

when you make those packages, meaning you bought the product in bulk, does that make you a retailer and no longer dropshiper?
Hey there! Great question. The dropshipping model typically allows you to sell products to your buyers without ever actually stocking the items yourself. You would essentially work with a third party company to handle the inventory and fulfillment. Depending on your supplier, you can have more of a say of what goes into packaging and shipping. Are you thinking about starting an online store?
@@learnwithshopify i am studying the business model concepts + taxes + licences. As far as i understood, dropship is being a "middle man", between retailer and consumer. If you are packing your own stuff, that is no longer dropship, but retail. I wonder if there are taxes consequences and different licences that are needed.

Since taxes and licenses vary depending on location, it's always best to check with a local tax authority or a tax accountant to make sure that you charge your customers the correct sales tax rates, and to make sure you file and remit the taxes correctly. You say you use a broker to get cheaper shipping rates but how does information get into the cart one's customer is looking at? It sounds like this is something you do after the customer makes the order? How do they do that if the shipping rates is not there yet?
Hi there! The shipping rates populate at the checkout once the customer enters their shipping address. From there they are provided the final price and can finish their checkout.

You can choose to use shipping rates provided by Shopify (if eligible), provide your own rates, or connect to a third party shipping provider through an app or supported account. Yes, some shipping services will offer that. Others will have a drop-off point somewhere for you to go.

The question I would like to ask is if one person ordered from 3 different suppliers (like a t-shirt from Printify and a Hat from SPOD and a hoodie from Printful to send to the same address) how do you kept all the shipping + policies and returns all straight they all use their own rules right, how do you deal with that! Do you make Your Own shipping + policies and combine them?
That's a great question! Many businesses will limit the number of suppliers they use for this very reason - keeping things simple for both you and your customers. You're exactly right: if you are going to be working with multiple suppliers, you will want to refer to each supplier's policies to craft your own, so you can set clear expectations with your customers around shipping times and the possibility of items shipping separately. It would be up to you as the merchant to decide if you wish to supply products yourself or to drop ship them from suppliers.
How do I get my money if I ship
Hi there, great question! How payouts are received will depend on the payment gateway being used. If using Shopify Payments, you will then receive payouts directly through the admin. Hi Alex! You'll still need to purchase a stamp or a shipping label in order to ship an envelope or package. Where are you shipping your products from? What sort of products are you shipping?

Great, thank you. You can use a regular desktop printer if you don't have a dedicated label printer supported by Shopify: bit.ly/3AHsmYw. As long as the label is affixed to the package and can be scanned and read by the courier, it should be fine to use.
