That's such an anime moment lmao having your ace monster get the final attack off while it has just enough ATK to do the job is the perfect dramatic finish
Ok that last round was actually beautiful. The way Sam’s eyes glowed with hope when he saw he’d live with 100, and then when they faded when he saw he was about to lose was truly a sight to be seen.
@@TheNaturalGamer1 Konami updated Master Duel to celebrate the 1st year anniversary of the game and part of that update is that when Dark Magician/DM Girl finish off an opponent, an animation of the move Dark Magic Attack plays. Its pretty epic and its only for DM and DM Girl
@Onyx Guardian kind of dissapointing they only gave it to those cards. I understand dm and dmg are kind of the mascots but those decks kind of suck, so nobody's even going to get those animations.

Super late reply, but I totally agree. I love the back and forth! I still enjoy playing modern yugioh today, hell, I’m climbing ladder with chimeras (nightmare apprentice please arrive soon!!), but the barrier of entry for modern yugioh is so hard for new players now. I feel like a more even back and forth like this is much easier for newer players to digest and enjoy. Since my closest friends don’t live close to me anymore, I’ve been trying to get them into yugioh through Master Duel. Nothing is more demoralizing than trying to get my friends into the game, only for them to be put off from turn 1 end boards with Baronne, I:P, and some archetype boss monster with a negate + little knight for follow up. For someone who’s been playing the game for a long time, I think boards like that create an interesting state where I have to use my resources to break through all of my opponents interactions, but for my friends, it’s a snooze fest and ends up leading to them not wanting to continue the game after getting negated and disallowed to play on their own turn. Sorry for the yap session. All I mean to say is, I love yugioh, and wish that the barrier to entry was easier. There’s absolutely space for the more complex, modern yugioh, but I do wish the game was more digestible for newer players aside from forcing them to play GOAT or Edison, both of which don’t have dedicated duel rooms for in Master Duel.

I feel like yugioh's most glaring problem is how boards can end up being unbreakable unless you have the right cards in your hand. In a game like yugioh RNG should be a factor but when these nigh unbreakable boards are set up if you dont have 3 hand traps and a 1 or 2 card combo, your force to surrender. It makes the game playable but frustrating to un-enjoyable to play. I do enjoy playing the game but only with friends and i only ever play E-hero/vision hero cards (i roleplay in my head and sometimes out loud as jaden lol). But to me eheros are peak yugioh they are easy to stop but powerful if not.

I've been watching waaaaay too much TGS Anime dual analysis videos because I've been analyzing this duel since the start. For example: Waiting for Flute of Summoning dragon while valid is still not really worth all the life points you lost, given that Dimension reflector is what made you lose first match. Its likely that the deck has more than 1 Lord of Dragons so keeping the Flute for awhile could have paid off later in exchange for keeping your life points. Lemon Magician Girl and Marshmacaron cant get over Lord of Dragons, the destruction of Dark Magician was going to happen no matter what to try and get over Blue Eyes, and you would have been able to use it in a tribute summon on your next turn. With Lord of D on the field you can use it for a tribute summon of Krystal Dragon, which would have protected you at least. I dont know what other face down cards they had but you still would have saved points, kept Counter Gate for a little while longer, and stayed in the duel longer for it. I maaaay need help. Because this was a year ago XD

Remember when Kaiba used his dimension device at the end of DSOD, to travel to Ancient Egypt to duel King Pharaoh Atem one final time? What kind of duel would that be like? I want to see some of that action.
duel one sam should have summoned out krystal dragon instead of blue eyes, krystal adds search ability to thin the deck out to get into more support cards as well as opening up blue eyes alternative dragon, and most of yugis deck in DSOD cant swing over krystal without crashing, not without the help of gandora and metamorphortress

Yugi Moto is really good at deck building his really good at utilitizing broken loops he is just to kind so this is what happens when a skilled Duelist use his Deck 😁
keep in mind that in the duel between yugi and kaiba in DSOD kaiba still had cards in play when yugis attack landed and we dont know the real outcome of the duel since kaibas life points never hit zero and he had a smirk on his face before diva came back and interrupted the duel
Technically, Kaiba didn't lose as the duel got interupted, but it has been proven that, that facedown (which i believe was a poly if you retrace the duel) wouldn't have helped, so Yugi would've won

I always wondered in that duel when kaiba smiled, if he had drawn alternative blue eyes that turn and he already had blue eyes in his hand and poly on the field. He would of won that duel but it got interrupted. But that's like my wish hahaha.

In my humble opinion I think the new dark magician support should pack more potent quick play spells.
