I honestly can't fathom why people think they have any right to tell you what to do in your own hobby and project. People don't like it? I was surprised to hear about your negative experience. As a fellow TH-camr and creator, I too have had to deal with the occasional negative comment, but not to the scale you have described. I am very sad to hear you had to go through this. In my experience, the LEGO community is a great space, very welcoming and positive. I recall a comment you left on one of my first videos. My video was terrible and very low quality, but you left a very positive and encouraging comment. Over the years, I have tried to emulate your positive and professional approach to videos. So for what it's worth, thank you for being an example of what the LEGO community is all about. I think real LEGO fans can all appreciate the time and effort that goes into your creations as well as the effort to pump out great videos!
I’m glad that’s been your experience, but just perusing comments anywhere that discusses Lego and isn’t heavily moderated looks a lot like Jang is describing. Tons of what’s-the-point? comments. Tons of people complaining about their personal pet peeve that isn’t even the subject of the article/video they’re commenting on. Tons of entitled people venting their spleen because TLG isn’t catering to their exact wants. And that’s without even considering what it probably feels like for any trans person who’s into Lego and sees the absolutely deafening silence among Lego fans about TLG’s Harry Potter license.

Jang, you are a legend. I can totally empathise with that deluge of negativity building up and affecting you over such a long time. All us creators get it, but since you're the biggest, and longest serving, it must be even more tiring. Stick your fingers in your ears and build for yourself and those that appreciate you will come along for the ride!

5 years ago, when I went through a hard time in my life ( depression, girlfriend left because of this "weakness", other health issues ) , I dug out my old Lego-stuff and ended my "dark ages" and YOU were one of THE channels who helped me to get over all this ! Jang, you brought me out of my dark age twice. Without you I would have not got back into it and would have not made it through what I did. I have been here for a long time. I lost your channel for a time when TH-cam unsubscribed me from several channels. But I came back. When my daughter past away your channel was there. When I fell off a horse and broke my leg your channel was there. When my son was on the verge of death right after being born you were there. I watched and re watched all of your videos. And grew my love for Lego because I saw you passion for it and that inspired me to o build witch greatly helped my mental health. I am so thankful for your channel. My wife and kids also watch your channel and love your videos. It would be a dark day in my life if anything ever happened to you. I pray nothing ever does. Just remember you changed a life for the better and continue to do so.

Jang, my favorite part of these videos isn’t what you build, it’s getting to see another human being have the same hobby, and love it so much at the same time. Never quit, even though there are terrible people in your comment sections that blatantly and completely intentionally try to make you unhappy about doing what you love to do, there are still so many others who love what you do and would support your journey in this hobby without a second thought.

I've been a silent viewer since 2015, and going back to the LEGO hobby. So sorry you've been trough this. It's always a blessing to me when you put out a new video of your custom creations. The joy it brings you is visible, and it makes the viewing experience all the more enjoyable. You've always been outspoken about building your city to your liking, and it needs to be respected.
Couldn't of said it better, a generation raised on the internet thinks its their playground, all I can say is that its down right disgusting to behave to people that way ESPCEIALLY to people as special as Jang. I’m an old viewer, I’ve been watching since 2010, some might say I’ve grown up with your channel Jang. I haven’t kept up as much in recent years, especially as I grew less interested in the reviews, and mostly focused in on Bionicle and action figure mocs in my own life. Regardless of that, I’ve always had respect for you Jang. Your LEGO city is awesome, and I’m sorry that you went through all of that disrespect. Keep on building man!
As someone that only recently joined the hobby and stumbled upon this channel, I think you display a lot of courage and intelligence by tackling this hard a subject in this manner. Everyone has different ideas and preferences for what to build in a city, but this is your project and you decide what to put in it and what to build and change. I think it is okay if people point out something that has happened like a minifig that dropped flat, but I guess it is extremely tiring if you already know about it and a hundred people comment that same thing. Try to focus on the positive if you can and your own enjoyment, see this channel as a bonus where you can show it to people that also love it. I for one enjoyed some of your set reviews (I have only seen a few so far) and I really think some of your buildings (the ones you sometimes do not like) are great. Also, the elevated train /metro is extremely hard to pull off and is awesome. Sure, I can compare your city to some others that have spend 10 or 20 times the amount of money and time in it, but this is a great project, more importantly it is YOUR project. Be proud of it, stay proud of it and keep working on it as long as you enjoy it.

But when you started sharing your custom Lego things, especially your city builds, I was so excited to see what you came up with & how you did it. I for one love your city Jang. It's one of the few cities I've seen with separate districts, a metro and industrial rail networks, areas of heavy industry, and a general city centre complete with skyscrapers and all forms of architecture. You've certainly inspired me.

As an illustrator I understand that creativity is so much more than a hobby, it's a lifestyle and primary source of joy, and for someone to attack such a core trait can shake you to your very foundation. This absolutely breaks my heart. I’ve been a long time viewer of your videos and content and have always looked forward to seeing what set you review next or what update you have to share. You are, in my humble opinion, one of the many nicest AFOL users on this platform. When I heard that people want you to take away the trains for a parking lot gutted me. From one train enjoyer to another, trains are easily miles better than parking lots. They bring movement to the city and your Mocs of them are incredible! Yours was probably the first channel I came across and subscribed to when I got back into Lego during lockdown (at the ripe old age of 47, lol). I can't believe that some people, sitting behind the safety of a screen have the temerity to demand. Shows the level of emotional intelligence, and honestly, pure cowardice and selfishness. I've loved your videos for years, and you have helped me expand and enjoy this hobby more and more with each review, and each video. I also build Gundams as well, so I loved seeing those on your shelves a while back ...have you thought about doing Gundam reviews? I've built about 50 or so, but always love it as a hobby , similar to building Lego and brick sets. But please keep doing what you do, you be you, and your fans will continue to support you!

Jang despite what all these haters say, you had a very big impact on my childhood. Because of your channel and city videos, my brother and I built a Lego city in our home together as kids. It really brought him and I together. Now as a 22 year old adult who is in the military stationed overseas, my brother and I still watch your videos together regularly to reminisce on our childhood despite being far apart. Keep on doing you man, your channel is still just as awesome as it was when we found it years ago as kids!

I am someone who has no interest in buying lego, is not part of any lego community, does not subscribe to any other lego channels, and has not built lego since I was a child in the 90s. I am very glad that the youtube algorithm randomly decided to pick one of your reviews for me last year, because I very much enjoy your content. What makes that content great is you. You seem like a very easy going, level headed person who is at the same time very entertaining and fun to watch. I don't understand why anyone would want you to stop being you and enjoying what you do. So strange. I'm glad you are continuing and doing things your way, and I hope you don't them get you down.

My video was terrible and very low quality, but you left a very positive and encouraging comment. Over the years, I have tried to emulate your positive and professional approach to videos. So for what it's worth, thank you for being an example of what the LEGO community is all about. I think real LEGO fans can all appreciate the time and effort that goes into your creations as well as the effort to pump out great videos!
I’m glad that’s been your experience, but just perusing comments anywhere that discusses Lego and isn’t heavily moderated looks a lot like Jang is describing. Tons of what’s-the-point? comments. Tons of people complaining about their personal pet peeve that isn’t even the subject of the article/video they’re commenting on. Tons of entitled people venting their spleen because TLG isn’t catering to their exact wants.
And that’s without even considering what it probably feels like for any trans person who’s into Lego and sees the absolutely deafening silence among Lego fans about TLG’s Harry Potter license.

I lost your channel for a time when TH-cam unsubscribed me from several channels. But I came back. When my daughter past away your channel was there. When I fell off a horse and broke my leg your channel was there. When my son was on the verge of death right after being born you were there. I watched and re watched all of your videos. And grew my love for Lego because I saw you passion for it and that inspired me to o build witch greatly helped my mental health. I am so thankful for your channel. My wife and kids also watch your channel and love your videos. It would be a dark day in my life if anything ever happened to you. I pray nothing ever does. I've been a silent viewer since 2015, and going back to the LEGO hobby. So sorry you've been trough this. It's always a blessing to me when you put out a new video of your custom creations. The joy it brings you is visible, and it makes the viewing experience all the more enjoyable. You've always been outspoken about building your city to your liking, and it needs to be respected.
Couldn't of said it better, a generation raised on the internet thinks its their playground, all I can say is that its down right disgusting to behave to people that way ESPCEIALLY to people as special as Jang. From a wee lad to a grown adult I always appreciated the sympathy and peacefulness Jang brought right to my sub box, your composure (as always) to these people is inspiring to me.

I’m an old viewer, I’ve been watching since 2010, some might say I’ve grown up with your channel Jang. I haven’t kept up as much in recent years, especially as I grew less interested in the reviews, and mostly focused in on Bionicle and action figure mocs in my own life.
Regardless of that, I’ve always had respect for you Jang. Your LEGO city is awesome, and I’m sorry that you went through all of that disrespect. Keep on building man!
As someone that only recently joined the hobby and stumbled upon this channel, I think you display a lot of courage and intelligence by tackling this hard a subject in this manner.
Everyone has different ideas and preferences for what to build in a city, but this is your project and you decide what to put in it and what to build and change. I think it is okay if people point out something that has happened like a minifig that dropped flat, but I guess it is extremely tiring if you already know about it and a hundred people comment that same thing.
Try to focus on the positive if you can and your own enjoyment, see this channel as a bonus where you can show it to people that also love it. I for one enjoyed some of your set reviews (I have only seen a few so far) and I really think some of your buildings (the ones you sometimes do not like) are great.
Also, the elevated train /metro is extremely hard to pull off and is awesome. Sure, I can compare your city to some others that have spend 10 or 20 times the amount of money and time in it, but this is a great project, more importantly it is YOUR project. Be proud of it, stay proud of it and keep working on it as long as you enjoy it.

I for one love your city Jang. It's one of the few cities I've seen with separate districts, a metro and industrial rail networks, areas of heavy industry, and a general city centre complete with skyscrapers and all forms of architecture.

As an illustrator I understand that creativity is so much more than a hobby, it's a lifestyle and primary source of joy, and for someone to attack such a core trait can shake you to your very foundation. This absolutely breaks my heart. I’ve been a long time viewer of your videos and content and have always looked forward to seeing what set you review next or what update you have to share. You are, in my humble opinion, one of the many nicest AFOL users on this platform. When I heard that people want you to take away the trains for a parking lot gutted me. From one train enjoyer to another, trains are easily miles better than parking lots. They bring movement to the city and your Mocs of them are incredible! I've loved your videos for years, and you have helped me expand and enjoy this hobby more and more with each review, and each video. I also build Gundams as well, so I loved seeing those on your shelves a while back ...have you thought about doing Gundam reviews? I've built about 50 or so, but always love it as a hobby , similar to building Lego and brick sets.

Jang despite what all these haters say, you had a very big impact on my childhood. Because of your channel and city videos, my brother and I built a Lego city in our home together as kids. It really brought him and I together. Now as a 22 year old adult who is in the military stationed overseas, my brother and I still watch your videos together regularly to reminisce on our childhood despite being far apart. Keep on doing you man, your channel is still just as awesome as it was when we found it years ago as kids!

I am someone who has no interest in buying lego, is not part of any lego community, does not subscribe to any other lego channels, and has not built lego since I was a child in the 90s. I am very glad that the youtube algorithm randomly decided to pick one of your reviews for me last year, because I very much enjoy your content. What makes that content great is you. You seem like a very easy going, level headed person who is at the same time very entertaining and fun to watch.

I literally find myself decompressing, relaxing, enjoying, while listening to ANY of your videos -- and I pretty much listen to them all. It is the greatest escape to hear your thoughtfulness, intelligence and knowledge -- shared with us. The haters can go away. You are a gem and so much appreciated. BTW, I am of your generation and grew up on the Galaxy Explorer and Yellow Castle. But I love the new stuff too and look forward every day to what you might show us!
