My jaw dropped so hard when you said "I never wanted a lego city, I wanted a model railroad." mainly because I myself have a model railroad. It's really creative to have a layout made of lego, it really opens the door to making anything with full freedom. I myself learned that you need to know what you want before you make any decisions, since I restarted my own layout. I'm just as excited to see where you go with it as I was with the city!

The core philosophy of Lego is to build over and over again. No matter what you build as long as you build. No limits, no borders, no written rules. You build what makes you happy. That is Lego. Way to go Jang. I am watching your videos not because if what you build but how you build, what thought process you have while building. I think majority of the folks here can agree with me.

Definitely understand the train vibe. The zoo was a neat idea but we can't all have an airplane hangar to fill with lego layouts. Happy for the focus on lovingly made content rather than some empty skyscrapers too. Loving it!

  • @jackiebritton458

The best bit about watching you with your city? Your joy and enthusiasm! It amazes me that there are people who think they can tell you what you should build.

The “what’s the biggest?” and skyscraper point resonates with me. Living with giant builds (especially in small apartments) is a nightmare. Building for quality is the way to go.

I have been following you and your city layout evolution sparingly almost since the beginning together with my son, since ha was 3 years old. Now he is almost 13, and we are watching this video together. Thanks for the enjoyment, fun and inspiration you have been giving us all this time. As for your last update, I think it makes perfect sense. Thinking back about it, I feel like this realization of wanting to build a train layout has always been there, and quite apparent at that. You just had to fully embrace it, which I get it: it's not easy at all, especially when you know you have to contend with an audience, and not always the most tactful at that, this being the Internet. Also, I think your train "stuff", including your cargo port, is definitely the best and most inspired part of your creations, which are always inspiring in general. Space is not infinite, although you have a lot of it, and I think this new, more focused approach is definitely a good step. Thank you again, can't wait to see what the future brings!

I'm glad you are prioritizing your own happiness with this layout. The yard will mean you can do some real shunting work! The plans for scenic breaks are also very sensible and a critical part of good model railways.

You know, the zoo was all well and good but seeing you smile and being genuinely happy is even better.

  • @Wyattporter

    YES‼️ NEW JANG CITY UPDATE‼️

  • @aliciapozzo9947

Your happiness is what is important, so happy for you. The trains being your main focus is such a great and wonderful thing.

  • @studiobrickton4702

Jang, I appreciate that you're taking the layout in a direction you will love. So many people on the internet adhere to the whims of their audience, so it's very refreshing to see you going in your own direction. Thanks for the update, and I shall look forward to the next one!

  • @NathanMaglott

So happy to hear the enthusiasm in your voice talking about the future of your layout. I can't wait to see what comes next!

Jang I've been "with you" for decade plus...I enjoy your reviews, insights, and thoughtfulness (haven't gotten onto Twitch yet to watch live building). I'm one who totally gets this is YOUR CITY (or railroad yard/tracks, etc). For me THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT -- to enjoy YOUR CONTENT and agreeing/disagreeing seems unnecessary and irrelevant. I have MY OWN projects and enjoy watching others' projects for inspiration, tips, or just a contract to mine. Keep on keeping on -- and thanks for sharing YOUR ideas and builds.

  • @KidarWolf

I'm sad the zoo is gone, but really very excited to see how your Lego model railway develops, because as a model railway fanatic and AFOL myself, this new direction is absolutely my jam! Welcome back Jang, it's so wonderful to see you excited about this again!

  • @uscgtankerwhitmore8777

Well lego is becoming a scale in the model railroad hobby. This is your creation jang! never let anyone else tell you what to change or build. Have fun with the build, enjoy your self in this hobby. We will all join you for the ride.

  • @davidcampbell2143

Wow, the fact that this got 13K views within a day shows the commitment of your fans (like me) to be waiting for you and watching your creativity in building this wonderful LEGO world. I think I can safely say that whatever you decide you want to create, we all know it will be a top notch, original and interesting.

  • @2bricks

Speaking personally, it’s always been your passion for your city and hearing your thought process about it that I’ve enjoyed far more than any actual building or section of the city itself. The happier and more passionate you are, the happier I’ll be to be watch!!

  • @themrqbz

watching this city evolving since i was 6 has been one of the best things in my life.

  • @JordanFromJersey

Use of the 2D map for explaining things is a super nice touch, Jang. ^_^

  • @Orange_Juse

This reminded me of the time where I didn't have a train in my layout to prioritize more buildings, but after years I realized that no amount of buildings could fill the train sized hole in my heart, so I reinstalled the train track and have been much happier for it. I'm glad to see you take a similar journey and realizing what makes you happy is what is most important.
