  • Marty Jannetty on Jimmy Jack Funk Incident
    WWE Legend and one half of the legendary "Rockers" Tag Team Marty Jannetty talks about a behind the scenes incident at a bar in Buffalo NY involving former WWE star Jimmy Jack Funk that led to "The Rockers" being fired from WWE after their first television tapings in 1988 due to Funk exaggerating the incident because of Marty hooking up with a girl Jack had been with.

    I heard Marty talk about this at an event that he was featured in...What's interesting is that in his interviews is that not only does he stick to his own version of the story, he's human enough to admit his own faults when it's applicable. For me, Shawn's versions of what happened are losing credibility because a lot of wrestlers--not just Marty--have said the same, if not similar things about Shawn: that he was known to start up problems with his peers and then going crying to Vince that he was the victim. Just recently, Shawn said that he was "forced" to wrestle at Crown Jewel--at the "sweet chin music" tune of $2-3 million...it seems like for him, this habit just hasn't changed.

    • @glamgal7106
      @glamgal7106 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Funny you mention that...a friend of mine said that Marty looked like David Cassidy. Shortly after the Rockers' break-up, she'd have some of her friends sing, "C'mon get happy"(from the Partridge Family); I don't know if Marty noticed. I thought Marty looked like Wayne Campbell from "Wayne's World;" if you put the baseball cap on him, you'd think they were separated at birth. I got a bit of a surprise when I first met Marty and heard him speak out of character...let's say I wasn't aware that he had that heavy Southern drawl that we're hearing in this interview. I'd said, "Hi Marty, great match, can I take a picture with you?" He put his arm around me and said, *Southern drawl* "C'mawn hunny, gimme luvs."(apparently a Southern term). I'd thought, "Wow, this is like Huckleberry Hound meets 'Wayne's World'" Now Marty sometimes wears reading glasses and he looks like Austin Powers...I'm not kidding! LMAO!

    • @jjbopbo

      I feel he really was talented and was Jim Neidhart but, when both Tag teams as well as many others split they didn't know what to do with their character and had to think pretty damn fast. But, he made his mark for sure.

    You can definitely tell that he's done A LOT of drugs!! All those drugs he did, it scarred his brain up pretty fucking bad!! I'm not talking trash about him, he'll I've done my share of drugs, and then some!!!! I'm just saying, in my opinion, he looks like he did way too many drugs!! I'm really not judging the man, I'm glad he's still here to talk about it, because there's A LOT of other guys in the sport that are Six Feet Under, and will never get to tell their story!! So yeah, God bless him, I'm glad he's still here to tell his story!!👍👊
