@thegivenright2654 Lots of great deer in these hills! Been after managmemt bucks for a couple seasons now letting a couple bucks grow, hoping next year is the year for sporky!
I would typically never post a negative comment like this, but this one "called" to me. I've been bowhunting whitetails in KS for almost 30 years now, and admittedly I've made lots of rookie mistakes (disclaimer), but I never had a TH-cam channel with thousands of subs called "The Given Right" either. First of all, God Given Gift is more accurate, and just because we have a right, doesn't mean we leave responsibility behind. The first deer was shot at 50+ yards based on the post shot interview. 1st shot was WAY off and hit the dirt below the deer at least 2 feet low. It was clear that, a) the deer was never ranged, or b) the range specific sight you used was not set per what you ranged. Either way - I'd call this irresponsible to let an arrow fly without taking an ethical shot where you know to the best of your ability what the range is. I can say this with some degree of confidence, because the 2nd chance shot you can see the shooter set the range on the site, and get lucky with what was likely a 58-65 yard shot. Experienced bowhunters know the margin for error at that range is very small- based the 1st attempt and how far the shooter missed, I'd call the 2nd stab at it plain unethical. Congratulations on getting the deer - but you had no right. Next year - Stickers - you don't even edit out the audio where you admit you don't even know the range - again on a 200" deer. This time you don't even have your range finder with you. Your camera man says "...he's at least 50 yards". Really?... you learned nothing from the previous year's experience, and you let another arrow fly!!! This time you miss your mark and hit the deer low and back. That happens with unethical hunters taking shots where they are literally guessing at a deer that's 50+ yards. The fact that you even retrieved that deer was lucky, and the video shouldn't have even been published. What is your responsibility here, to show big deer get killed, regardless of how? I'll admit the first deer had me a little weary, but you sealed the deal the next year. Suggestion: If you're going to be irresponsible like this, shoot inanimate objects. Deer (esp of this caliber) deserve the "Given Right" to a clean kill! I love the sport and I'm not "trolling" you here - if I'm the only one with this opinion I'll delete it. Pretty awesome buck in my opinion Footage is always somewhat deceiving because you may have two small snippets in the video that are actually the same clip. If you watch from 2:52-2:57 is the same clip that’s from 3:04-3:09 Probably an accident but makes it look like the buck looked at them then went head down while he was ranging him and when he went to adjust the slider he looked at him again and went head down again. Awesome buck either way though. I will never see a deer that large probably in my life
Pets?? These are wild, brilliant animals that are as elusive as they come. Just seeing a deer of this caliber in daylight is hard enough, much less getting one in bow range and making the shot. Hope your day gets better 👍
I have bow hunted for 38yrs and I have never saw a buck react like that.....ever.
Can't say we have either until this moment. Boy were we happy he did though! 😄
Legendary story of two legendary bucks!! Congratulations Mark 💪

Definitely a once in a lifetime moment that happened on the right buck!!
What did he end up scoring?

I have to agree!
I have the missing shed to stickers
Do tell us more?!
@@thegivenright2654 from 2 or 3 years ago its the left side. Bigger side which has all the trash now.
Buck was awful calm after being shot at and after he saw you, farm raised high fence deer?
You read my mind!
Incorrect. 100% free range Kansas buck, just got extremely lucky that he didn't buck and run.
I was wondering the same thing! How the heck do you make that much movement while a mature 200” deer is looking at you!
Pretty awesome buck in my opinion

@ awesome buck for sure, but camera man is saying he’s looking at us as he’s reaching down and the hunter is fumbling for his range finder lol
Looks like pen deer to me just saying
You'd be mistaken. Totally fair chase, and as elusive of animals as they come. Hope your day gets better 👍
Why shoot PETS ?????
