Hi lovelies, do you sometimes feel like life is always set on hard mode? In this video I dive into an idea that has stuck with me for the past few days, using Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs of map out the stress levels in life from more severe to less severe. A little bit unusual but I do hope you find this helpful.
Love, Poppy xx

Poverty trauma is real. It rarely is just poverty, abuse and other things are frequently associated. Some people who have only known survival mode and have been hammered by life have a tendency to either be really hard or really soft emotionally. Thank you for the reminder that we need to heal.
Literally what I tell people. Living in poverty and around violence effects your nervous system so much. After years of illnesses I’m just now discovering it all stemmed my nervous system being overactive, and now I’ve been healing so much. Also healing my root and sacral chakras
I have been in a state of survival all my life even though I am from a middle class background, I have always felt unsafe emotionally, financially & physically. But now I am changing all that, MOVING TO THRIVE MODE.
perfectionism leads to depresion unfortunately
I've learned done is better than perfect :)
Yes
omg this !!!!

I'm on the right track! I wanted to have a better life and I decided to start off small. Meeting my basic needs like learning to cook healthy and tasty foods, maintaining a clean living space and having good morning and sleep routines. I'm just starting but it feel reassuring to see others agree.
Good on you and I bet you feel sooo much better too right? It's incredible how small changes can have such a huge impact!
@@reinventingpoppy Ohh yeah most definitely. And all these small changes are also very empowering! It just feels like I can have some control again if that makes any sense...
Can you help me with where to go to learn healthy meals? Its my biggest challenge
Same track❣️ Started my new online full time job and having side hustles while learning to prioritise my basic needs and health at the same time 😅😊
💯 that's the foundation for a good life
I don't let social pressure tell me what to believe and how to think.
nothing pulls me out of a funk more than yoga or a nice little walk. My car recently broke down and I can’t afford to fix it yet so I got a used bike to ride to work and the grocery store and it’s been such a blessing in disguise as well :)
Glad I saw this video before I went to bed. Especially since the last 3 days for me has been really rough. Been dealing with a health issue the last few months (eye floater), and it's led to some pretty bad anxiety, and it just spiraled out of control recently which even brought about some dark thoughts. Made some life changes like exercising every day, eating better, meditation, seeing a therapist, but it's been a struggle to not fall into a pit of mental anguish leading to feelings of despair, and hopelessness. Then the structure I've tried to build for myself takes a it. I'll try to keep your words in mind, because you made some good points. Cheers, and much love.
Sorry to hear that, I can imagine how that would have an impact to your well-being in general. Hope the doctors will be able to do something about it ❤
I heard putting castor oil on your eyelids before going to sleep every night can help with eye floaters, I’ve never tried it myself and I’m not sure if it will help or not but it’s something you might want to look into. I hope you can find healing soon
@@cookieLaLa94 Yeah I heard about that. Might give it a go in the future. For now I've turned to hypnotherapy, nutrition, and consistent exercise just to try to bring the anxiety down. Also found staying busy with a few goals helps me break even mentally. Having a quality support system of friends, and family has really assisted me too more than I thought it would. Anyway thanks for the comment. Hopefully I ultimately figure this out :)
So sorry, health problems and anxiety are literally the worst. Feels like such a loss of control. Wishing you comfort and good health
I avoid negative folks. I am always being myself, if others can't let me be me, I drop them.
That helped me realize how much I’ve been putting weight and hardship through my journey. Thank you for helping me realize the key points to slow down and just focus on one thing at a time.
This is something that I know logically but having it spoken to me is waking me up to it. I’m moving from my in laws who are selling the house in an area far from my college and the school I want my child in. I am moving in with a good family friend I’ve been with before and going back to a safe neighborhood. The only time I’ve done well in life was living in that city with her. When I live in a safe place, my life does splendid, when a setback brings me back into poverty it’s years of fighting to just get back. I’ve had to move every six months to a year for a very long time and it feels like I’m always trying to learn my new schedule, the new shops and prices, the routes, if I can get new furniture, if I’ll be able to keep it. I sometimes compare myself to others I went to school with and have to remember they lived in one place for twenty years with two parents.
recognize what is relevant and ignore the rest. that is how I am successful in my work, mental health, and financial prosperity.
i was feeling really low and this video made me feel hopeful :)
Really well done. I like how you used Maslow to connect the dots between your talking points. Love your calm approach too. 😊 Thank you. 🙏🏼
Seriously! I’ve been burn out and lost, trying to fully redirect my whole life. And it’s difficult to figure out what to prioritize. Maslow hierarchy is a guiding light. 🙏🏽
Great video! I love the way you laid it out in a way that makes it easy to apply to my life. I enjoy step by step videos like this with graphics. I'm grateful for your advice & information!
thank you poppy for your message !! as someone who often gets stressed worrying about future acceptance and gratitude are what i need to practice :-)
An informative and motivating video. The "to sum everything up"-board at the end is a great idea. Every video should have that. Thanx and greetings from germany.
You are, I recently learned to accept things I can’t control and I’m at peace
Insightful video on the connection between Maslow's hierarchy of needs and daily stress management. It's a powerful reminder that fulfilling our foundational needs not only stabilizes our lives but also empowers us to pursue higher aspirations with greater effectiveness and less stress. 🌟
5:09 This is the most honest video I ever seen today 💕 and it's true what you said about shelter and relationships and their opinions who we consider close.
I love your videos sm, titles and topics are so original and you have really calming and confident voice !
Thank you so much!!
Oh my goodness... sharing a similar story of feeling lonely in the UK with parents thousands of miles away...
I have couple of friends here but we're also struggling, but I found my new folks I live with
I moved to a different state with no family or friends and had a hard time at first not feeling lonely . I still have some sad moments but I keep busy with hobbies and making friends. Sending you a virtual hug. You’re not alone 😊
@@eclecticd9953 thank you 🤗
Its amazing how these situations bring you to a place of great wisdom, i was going to do a video regarding these topics but you've got this.

Great video as always ❤
Thank you!
Nice one. Really well done.
This is a big help, so thank you. But you might want to check New Age videos before continuing to do yoga. I stopped once I knew what it really is for.
Brilliant video 🤍
Thank you for this video.
Well said!
great video! what glasses do you wear at 0:17?
I am watching your videos but I would like to tell you the first impression that I have about all video watched by me: you are beautiful and you have a beautiful profile. You have beautiful skin and hair and seems that you take care of your looking so not only your mental health. ❤
Hey Poppy, really nice video ! I was wondering if I could help you with Best Quality Editing in your videos better than your Editor with good pricing and also make a highly engaging Thumbnail which will help your videos to reach to a wider audience ? Pls let me know what do you think ?
this video was spot on, im wondering what the song was at the end??? ❤❤
Sooo amazing 🎉
I recommend the Egoscue Method - similar to yoga, but more targeted
thanks! talk more about being in the present, please
Some glitch or weird image around 6:37
Yeah, then I found out I'm autistic and ADHD. Now it makes sense and there is literally no way for me to make life easier. I now cannot even function anymore because of constant burnout and chronic health issues because of it.
thanks for this video
Thank you❤
I feel like your me but ahead in time. Whilst I’m still trying to make a transition in life.
I'm glad TH-cam brought us to get to know each other ❤
Thank you
Interesting. Thank you
Yo why is the book upside down in the thumbnail?
that's a sweet pupper
🙏
You forgot to mention the basic need for sex. Maslow definitely mentioned that as part of his hierarchy.
ive never wondered why life is hard, i wonder why people choose to make it hard for others.
👍

Jus wanted to let you know that reaching the top of the pyramid will NOT fulfill you
_|_ psychology, we have to be a monster
When your poor it’s stressful 😅
Brianna's Wiest's The Mountain is You is a great read for this
I just have ADHD 😢
you look like a young Gemma Chan holy moly what a smoke show
❤miss u
Life doesn't have to be hard if you are a hot girl
Her accent 😅
Maslow's pyramid is just a personal opinion, not science or dialectical thinking. My advice is don't count on it. Sorry but I don't appriciate this video.
I only focus on what I can control. I ignore the rest.
why you leave UK? why you go to USA?
Nice vid
