No. The proper Russian word for a Porsche 6 cyl NA motor noise is вой. “Howl” in English. I love listening to the вой of the motor in my 2011 997.2 GT3RS for sure!
Thanks for sharing Matt. Nice driving. People underestimate how difficult it is to drive and speak intelligently like you do so effortlessly. This is "The" car for me. I think the key is to get one soon and hold onto it forever. That's my goal.
Dear Matt, nice comment on the other Matt's driving and speaking skills. This video is just so nice to watch. Go out there and find yourself "The One". I'm doing the same right now here in Europe. Good luck. Udo
No offense to Matt - cause he certainly can handle a car - but the talent of the instructor in the lead is evident. He’s pulling away at will. Just goes to show the multiple levels of talent out there.
Although I agree, he has a GT3 Touring and said recently that he doesn't miss the 4.0. Had to find it back: 3:49 mark th-cam.com/video/e2zWdIlIX4Y/w-d-xo.html
@@Spare84 he's probably not being completely honest. If I remember right, he made some disparaging comments about Ferrari and his journalism career was in jeopardy. I think he sold the Porsche so he'd have the money to buy a Ferrari, just so he could do a video with it and say nice things.
This is definitely the one 911, out of all of them that have been made, which I would take. I remember falling in love with it in Need For Speed: The Run back in the day. Would love to experience it in real life. Great vid as always Matt 🤘🏻
For the last several years I've watched so many 991 and 992 gen 911 videos that I'd forgotten the subtle bark, the throaty timbre of the Mezger engine, heard here in its finest iteration. It is absolutely sublime.
The 997 platform is my favorite too, my manual 997.2 Turbo is my favorite "regular driver" and it won't be leaving my garage until after I'm dead. There is nothing that Porsche makes now that matches it in terms of driver engagement and feel. Current 911s feel like fluffy crossovers with numb steering in comparison.
What a phenomenal experience. I just did the Porsche driving experience in Atlanta and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend for the true enthusiats. Great video Matt.
I consider myself a pretty good driver. But driving a gt3 rs 4.0 at 8/10 on a track that has no room for error takes balls. And then you do it while reviewing a car at the same time. Kudos Matt, it really shows your skills.
Fantastic car, I would have to have it in white or gray with the red wheels though. Also the Aeropress is the best thing ever, use my almost everyday. 👍
Hey Matt, always loved your canyon drive videos. But it gets better with track driving like this, especially in Porsche GT models back to back. Really helped me get a better insight on how each car behaves. Looking forward for the upcoming videos in the set, and keep it up, mate. Cheers from Malaysia.
You're sponsored by AeroPress?! Hell yeah!! I love my AeroPress; it's the only thing I've used to make coffee for the past ~5 years. Best $30 I've ever spent. Get a metal perforated filter instead of the paper ones! What a dream of a 911. I loved my 997.1 Carrera S; can only imagine what the GT3RS 4.0 must be like!
Hi, Matt. Thanks for all your videos. You always have quality content but you really outdid yourself here. The videos you are doing here of all these Porshes are just amazing. It's incredible that it is even possible! Someone could make a video like this using cars in a game - but in real life? What an incredible opportunity it is to get to watch such a lineup.
I've driven this handling circuit a bunch of times-it's very short and with no real opportunity to hit "oh shit" speeds. It's more or less something that's meant to be fun and accessible for novice drivers.
@@thejackamo There's isn't a whole bunch of open space left in SoCal, surprised they could even find this area, it would be worth so many millions just in commercial RE prices.
I ripped a 2016 gt3 around a track. Loved that car. Felt like you were always in control. Can only imagine what that one can do compared to what I drove
I wish I never sold my 97 Integra GTR completely factory. Great video, it felt intense and immersive, and the beautiful craftsmanship of those Porsche's, it's almost like their genius design, alone, guides them down the road like Porsche's invisible hand.
Lucky dog - that’s one of my all-time favs 👌! I actually saw 2 (a black and a white one) in a dealership back in the day in Toronto, just before Christmas. The sales guy told me that both owners which had placed their deposits on them, changed their minds before delivery 😳!
I think I drove this very car back when it came out (I think 2011) as a PRESS CAR in Germany. I put like 1000 miles on it. Videos are still on my channel haha. Crazy. Now I live in LA and the car was once again very close to me.
Im gonna imagine that one sounds the the best in the car its also hands down the prettiest te new rs does get it to a slightly crazier noise in that last 1000 rpm tho
Love this Porsche GT3 series Matt. This would be a dream car to own and you are one lucky/fortunate Dude! I hate knowing that Chris Harris, who is a Porsche fan and true driving enthusiast, sold his prematurely. I am sure he gets salt rubbed into that wound quite often and you didn't help ;^) Thanks for the content Matt, great stuff as usual!
Porsche makes the best sounding, and performing, N/A 6 cylinder engine by far. There is no question by anyone to that conclusion. For it to have a manual transmission...... Is a 5lb cherry, to top off an already 15lb Ice Cream Sundae. 🤯😎

I was expecting/wanting at least a short comparison between this and the sharkwerks 4.1 and which is better. Been awhile since that 4.1 video but it was a good one.
Matt, once you get into that 400k-500k world would you buy the GT3 RS 4.0 or a Singer? Even if the Singer is a bit more. One you are at that level what's another 100k or 200k.
I love the engine sound, it's like a metallic and drawn-out hum. In Russia we call it гул.
What other cars make a sound in which you would describe as sounding ryn?
You guys have a word for it? That’s fantastic! Such a magnificent engine.
Not the engine sound, 😂It can be any deep and long hum

Great job Matt.

"If you have this car, do not sell"
I can see Chris Harris thinking about his.
Exactly what I thought as soon as he said that 😂
Ore salomondrin
Circumstances dictated he sold it.
Also that's not the biggest offender, he once owned a 993 GT2, which is now worth millions..
He recently said in an interview that the 991.2 gt3 with a stick wipes the floor with the 4.0 and he really doesn’t miss it
Poor Chris man. Loses his ass on so many cars. The 996 GT2 as well i believe

matt is having the time of his life at adult disneyland, sounds amazing so much better than the 996
Favorite generation of the modern 911's for me as well.Perfect size and a 500hp 4.0L flat six paired to manual gearbox=car heaven.
Who else wants a breakdown of the 4.0 vs the sharkwerks 4.1? Matt with Spike and some booze would be an amazing podcast topic.
I have a sw 4.1 gt3 and would be interested in hearing the differences
This has been my favorite Porsche for years......very underrated. Probably the purest , rawest track toy I can think of that is tameable
A 4.0 as an investment, a regular GT3 RS with Manthey upgrades to enjoy. The best of both worlds.
