    They actually are targeted to people who AREN'T frequent fliers, because 100% of the flight benefits are offered by status. True FF's should go after the better AA cards (higher annual fee).

    • @dannyshep

      It does mention that the miles are subject to expiration and forfeiture policies. So it is conceivable that they could run out if the card is not actively used.

    So if you want to take a $600 flight it's 60,000 points right, so if you spent only in the 2x miles category on the card you'd need to spend $30K to get enough points to book a main cabin flight? Then if you want to buy miles buying 150K miles is $3,600, but a first class ticket is $2500 = 250K points, so buying points is actually more expensive? I don't understand the appeal of the card if you need to spend $30K to get a free roundtrip ticket in main cabin. Am I missing something?

      @@HayleyPuzoMusic Sorry about that, I meant to say, If you get the Mastercard AAdvantage Aviator Red Card you will get a companion certificate after spending $20k within a calendar year, and this can be worth quite a bit of money
      But I do agree that just by relying on earning miles through spending is not that rewarding.
      I guess if you are happy to pay a bit more for a card like the Chase Sapphire Reserve card you will be able to get a whole lot more benefits and earn a lot more points from your spending.

    • @dannyshep
      @dannyshep  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HayleyPuzoMusic Hi Hayley, the companion certificate is available with a few different credit cards and basically it is available with this card after you spend $20k in a calendar year. After you have met this spend requirement you will need to wait until the following year and keep the card active, then you will be able to book a return domestic flight on American Arlines within the US (the only thing you will have to pay for is any taxes and fees that are associated with the flight, which is limited to $99).
      As for the Sapphire Proffered card, that is a fantastic card, to earn as many points as possible try to book any travel through Chase Ultimate rewards as you will earn 5x points.
      I hope this helps!

    • @dannyshep

      It should be automatically free for the first checked bag (for you and up to 4 guests).
