@@JacoBadenhorst no problem, thanks a lot and I will keep on following you. Any car that you work on you can just keep on uploading them for us please.
Should be yes. one cylinder at a time. Feed a piece of rope into the cylinder through the spark plug hole. Hand crank to compress the rope in the cylinder. This will prevent the valve from dropping into the cylinder when you take out the valve spring.
How did you know that the head blew? My bantam is overheating after replacing the water pump, radiator. And themestate as well. And what must i replace whe. i do the head
Got excessive pressure in the coolant reservoir. Plus sputtering and uneven idle. Did you replace the temp sensor? the aftermarket ones are different from OEM. You can take the head to any reputable engineering shop that specializes in it.
If you only do the head, you can strip it in a morning. The machine shop (Centurion Motor Engineering) took 3 days to recon the head, and It took half a day to put the head back. I decided to replace the oil pump and timing chain as well, which is a whole new drama on its own. I'm making the video of it now. So it took much longer than anticipated and the rain has not helped as I do not have a covered workshop.
Good day Jaco i have a question concerning the bantam 1.3i rocam engine it is spitting oil to the air box in that way loosing oil, have replaced the PCV as that was stuffed,...any advise would be appreciated
This could be a number of things. 1. Bad PVC valve 2. Clogging in the oil passage 3. Leaky valve seals 4. Faulty piston rings 5. Worn out camshafts 6. Dirty air filters 7. Malfunctioning fuel injectors It is impossible to diagnose over the internet. best have it checked out by a service centre.
Last time when my mechanic did mine, he told me that every time when you do the engine that had overheated you need to replace the big ends and small ends bearings; is it really necessary?
If your engine blew a gasket AND overheated I would suggest it. My bantam never overheated. I cought it in time. The problem is that you do not know what got how hot, and what ran either without oil, or with oil water mixture.
Good evening sir just wanted to ask on the sylinder head bantam rocam engine 2007 the two 8mm bolts. Is it a must to put them back. As I am struggling to get them.
Yes definitely. They seal the front end of the head to the block. They are critical. Your local parts supplier should be able to source a full set of head bolts for you. They are pre-stretched, so you don't have to re-torque them later.
It could be a number of things. It will be difficult to say or comment here. Worn valve stem seal, head gasket, if it's on the outside it may be valve cover gasket. Worn piston rings. Clogged crank case ventilator.
The engine is either flooding with fuel or youhave oil or coolant leaking into the combustion chamber. Did you have the head done by the engineering works when you replaced the head gasket?
As far as I know, there is only the standard head gasket for the Rocam engines. Only the Diesels have head gasket sizes and the are identified with notches on the side of the head gasket.
@@CliffordCollison-bz3nn if you are referring to the con-rod and iets bearing cap. The marks should definitely match. They get machined with the marks lined up to be true round where the bearing sits.
Two oil changes. When you have the Engine and gearbox split, take off the oil pan and Wash inside of crank case with diesel. After putting the engine together fill with oil as per normal. For this you can use a cheaper brand of oil. Drive for 50 -100km then change oil and oil filter. Any water should be stuck in the filter. after changing the oil filter fill up with premium oil and drive as normal.
Thank you really helpful info you giving us
Thanx for the comment. Hold on for part 3. You are in for a shocker on the timing chain.
thanx for your helpful and informative videos, what i need to know is whether a bad water pump can contribute to oil mixing with water?
Bad water pump will lead to overheating that will lead to a blown head gasket.
@@JacoBadenhorst Thanx man for that clarity🙏. Is there a video where you are setting a timing chain maybe?
Good day it's relevant to videos can I ask if u change computer box then need to be programed or its automatically thanks ford bantam rocam 1.6
Thanks a lot, please make more videos
Unfortunately I sold the bantam, but I will definitely not stop making videos.

Heelo Jaco, is it possible to replace valve stem seals on the rocam without removing the top?
Should be yes. one cylinder at a time. Feed a piece of rope into the cylinder through the spark plug hole. Hand crank to compress the rope in the cylinder. This will prevent the valve from dropping into the cylinder when you take out the valve spring.
Hello, Is the head tightening 11nm+90©?
I'll have to check and make sure.
Hi Jaco,
Great work on the videos, really helps alot.
What could be the cause for gearbox oil leak through the breather, Thanks.
Probably overfill. There should not be pressure in the gearbox. and there is no way any oil can leak into it.
Cos I try to make the gearbox for seeing after that I put in where the problem start
Please help with how to remove Welsh plug.

Great video sir! I want to replace the iac valve do i need take the intake manifold off to access it?
If I remember correctly, you will probably have to yes.

How much engineering cost to do the Top?
Round about R2900-00 if you strip it out and take it there.
Do you perhaps have video of ball joint replacement?

Was your cylinder head line bored. R2900 quite abit for a 8v head
Please help me I need mechanic Of bantam rocam
Apologies.,but I only work on my own vehicles. I am not a mechanic by trade.
The torque setting for head is 40Nm...for 1.3 Ford bantam rocam
Is that for all the bolts or the 11mm only?
