I have made these many times before. Same recipe except a bit of sugar. My girls loved them when they were for supper, cut in half, pizza sauce spread on them, then mozzerela cheese and pepperoni. A few minutes in the the oven and tah-dah! Mini pizzas. So good!
I made your recipe for English muffins last Sunday, and they came out totally amazing. Never had a homemade English muffin before and they are wonderful. Am going to make another batch today!!!! Love all your recipes. Thank you for sharing with us.
I used to make them with a cookie cutter and bake them in an electric skillet. Same thing different method. Love that you aren't someone just looking for views and shock value. Thanks
I quit buying bread nearly three years ago, well, with the exception of English Muffins and tortillas. I’ve discovered the nutritional benefits of milling my own flour and love baking bread, but have had a mental block about English Muffins. I’m ready to give it a whirl now. Thanks bunches!
@@pheobs I mill all our flour, too. It’s a real game changer, both in taste and health. I have a NutriMill classic, which is an impact mill and a NutriMill Harvest, which is a Stonemill. love them both. I never buy flower anymore.
After finding this video last night I was so excited to try this recipe this morning. I used the KitchenAid mixer to knead on low for 4 minutes adding an additional tbsp of flour. I have achy wrists today so was pleased when the dough worked great, rising was perfect. I am making these this morning - just shaped the muffins and am waiting on the final rise before going into the pan! Homemade ingredients versus the store bought - oh my goodness. Thank you for showing how easy making these are and so much better without all the artificial ingredients and who knows what else is in the store bought. Looking forward to having sausage egg and cheese on one of these when ready!
I don’t think I’ve ever bought any and never made them. They look really good. I may have to try them one day when my grands are here. Don’t have anyone here now to cook for except myself. That would be a good breakfast. Thanks for sharing!
Hi there ,thank you for your excellent videos .no silly funny stuff , just good advice and videos I love your videos ,Greetings from Southern Scotland .
WOW Guess what I will be making tomorrow here in Brisbane Australia as I have some amazing Mango & Papaya jam that I made- OH my mouth watered the whole time you were cooking them. Thank You so much for this amazing video. Cheers Your friend Denise- Australia
Hello Denise, it is always wonderful to hear from you all the way from Australia. Now my mouth is watering thinking about your delicious homemade jam. Best wishes, Colleen
I’ve heard and seen people write about how easy these are to make but I’ve never given it a go. Now I’ve actually seen how you have made these I realise how easy they actually are. It’s strange how I don’t listen when someone says it’s easy but when I see it being done I can then go ahead and make them. I’ll be making these on a regular basis I think cos I love these. I love having one at lunch time sometimes with egg and bacon. They are great for that and I love them with Nutella on and I love them with Vegemite on them. I just love them in general. I’m sure home made ones are going to be so much nicer than bought ones. Can’t wait to give them a go. Thank you Colleen.
I'm so thankful for this recipe. I love English muffins but with rising costs I just don't spend the money on them. Now I'll be making my own. Thank you for your video. I enjoy them so much.😊❤
Hi Colleen. Here in Seminole, FL english muffins are almost $6. for 6! I also started and stopped making my own bread but had to stop because I ate too much! Thanks for your video!!!
The freezer is my friend. Keeps me from eating a whole pan of brownies, loaf of bread… You get the idea. I put single or double servings in sandwich bags then place those into a gallon freezer bag. I’ve been really enjoying more variety and don’t make myself sick.
OK I have watched several videos on Ytube and I have to admit yours is my favorite I do think I can do the I am 72 and have never made or had these. Thank you
Your English Muffins look great, cannot wait to try making them too. Do you have one for Crumpets also? I enjoy your videos and your quiet and thorough instructions.
So glad I found your videos! I appreciate your easy to follow recipes and looking forward to trying this one as well as the ones on using my “stored away “ bread machine. I always new I had kept it for a reason! Thank you!
We noticed that english muffins do not cost much to buy, but after watching your video we learned the difference between homemade and store bought , theres a long list of ingredients in store bought vs your homemade , thank you so much for making this video, we started following you today , looking forward to watching more of your videos :)
This is the first time I have seen English muffins made. I love them. Eggs Benedict is my favorite breakfast. You said some thing about needing to add more flour, maybe that’s because it is raining and there’s a lot of moisture in the air. Thank you for sharing.
@vickiheath6133 I feel like if you follow the recipe exactly using regular all-purpose flour and quick rise yeast, it should turn out great for you. Thanks for watching!
I am going to use your recipe to make my very first English muffins. We eat a lot of them, so homemade ones will be a real delight. I'll let you know how they come out. Thank you for the much needed encouragement ❤
Good afternoon Colleen. I just made your English muffin recipe. I have arthritis in my hands so it’s hard for me to knead dough. After looking at another recipe that was made in the bread machine i decided to try your recipe and use the dough cycle. I doubled the recipe and they turned out delish!! Thanks for another great recipe. I love watching your videos. You are so easy to follow and keep things simple, which I love. I do a lot of sourdough baking….wish you had some recipes.
I really enjoy English muffins, but I’ve never made them for myself. Some reason I got the idea they were really difficult to do. That you just showed me right now that that’s not the truth. And fresh bread of any kind homemade is always better than anything else. I actually threw away about a half a package of English muffins because I didn’t like them and I was surprised. So I’m going to try it again and one of the things I’m not gonna use is the cornmeal. So I hope mine turn out like yours. Thank you so much. Linda from Kansas, USA.
We used to make these when we lived in the Philippines and couldn't buy them in the stores. They were so easy. I do think it would have been easier for you if you had the cornmeal because you probably wouldn't have had to use the extra flour. I think I'll try these again soon.
Thank you that was amazing! Every video I looked at for English muffins was so complicated! That I gave up! But your recipe with your explanations IA awesome. I will definitely now try this and boy, can't wait to try it with jam, thank you and greetings from New Zealand
Once you have made them you will see for yourself just how easy they are and once you taste them you will find that you don't want to buy them every again. Thanks for watching. Colleen
Did you find the recipe on Living Traditions Homestead? It looks like the way Kevin made them. I want to have pre-made breakfast sandwiches on hand for quick heat & go breakfasts. I get a lot of satisfaction knowing all the components are homemade.
Your English muffins look wonderful! Yes, I did make these many many years ago, so long ago that I don’t recall if they were successful or not. Lol but I will give your recipe a try because it just looks wonderful. Thanks so much.
Thank you for showing me how to make these. I have even made pita bread, but never tried English muffins. Definitely going to try them. I bet they would be wonderful with raisins in them too or craisins.😊.
I used to make English muffins years ago using my electric griddle, so they weren’t covered. I don’t know if I still have the recipe and I don’t remember what made the holes. I think it may have had a bit of baking soda in it to create those lovely holes for collecting the butter. Yours are lovely.
I have t made these yet but will be tonight or tomorrow. My hens are starting to lay again and I am so looking forward to putting some fresh eggs on these English muffins. I just found your channel last night and just love your relaxed content. Thank you!
