I flew to Korea to find my personal colour (my whole life has been a lie)

  • I got my personal analysis done in Korea and the results were shocking lol. I have always noticed that when I wear certain colours, I look more lively and get more compliments, so I wanted to figure out which tones suit me best! Please note that when we speak about "pale" and "dark" we are not talking about skin colour, rather the skin tone and luminosity. Correct application of colour theory can help you make your skin tone look more "bright" and "awake", rather than "dull" or "washed-out".

    • @kilipaki87oritahiti
      @kilipaki87oritahiti ปีที่แล้ว +86

      Actually cool toned is just the opposite of warm/golden. Red is kinda misleading as cool is more blue/silver. I’m neutral, so I can wear bith gold and silver, and any color. While yellow/orange makes me sick, red or pink is fine.

      I’m a natural redhead (not my current color in my YT profile - obviously 😂) with blue eyes. Not a stylist in the land can figure out my undertone. It is certainly a reddish undertone - not yellow. I’m going to pretend she solved this for me…or just continue buying black, green and blue for the rest of my life. At least I KNOW I look terrible in soft colors.

    • @LuminetheoneandHOLY
      @LuminetheoneandHOLY ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Since yellow and orange suit her, perhaps a strawberry blonde or a goldblonde will look better?
      I am likely a summer but I'm olive skintone so I can wear some spring tones to (got compliments for warm orange for exsample) But I've also been blobde for years and realized it washes me out :(
      And I need some haircolor that isn't pale or but adds contrast, so ginger was my best haircolor :) And more vibrant golden blonde allways looked better then ashy.
      Now I grew out my brown hair over a year ago and embrace it, I love it, but I also miss having blonde/ginger hair

    The lipsticks she chose help reduce the magenta in your skin tone by contrasting with it rather than matching it. It’s a very normal hue but if you get too much of it your skin will look more mottled and sickly. Kindof like what happens with green or yellow for a lot of people.
    That being said, it’s _super_ dependent on the light you’re in.

    I would consider her imput but still go with what you feel comfortable with!
    Also the tones of light make a huge difference and bring out different undertones in your skin. So the colours may look completely different in a warmly lit room, outside on a cloudy day, in the sun or with club lights on.
    Skin is not always the same and also changes with your cycle. No reason to change everything you wear - when you like your look you'll glow naturally! 😊

    I find this stuff so fascinating. You are beautiful. I do find myself wondering tho, if analysts are influenced by the beauty standards of their cultures. I thought some of the darker colors looked very nice on u (obviously allowing for variation in my phone and ur phone cameras). I think it ultimately comes down to what YOU like to wear and feel comfortable in. That first lipstick looked really nice on u. But if YOU don’t like it, it doesn’t matter if it looks good, imo. At the end of the day, I LOVE this process and think it’s great u got to do it. The analyst was very good too. I hope to see how u apply this experience to ur personal style 💖

I'm really surprised you're supposed to fit a color type for each season though. I had an analysis done a couple months ago and I'm cool summer and might fit a couple tones from its neighboring types but def not one type each season? Anyway I love color analysis. I loved this video! It was super interesting and makes me want to do this.
    You’re very pretty! And you have very bright eyes as well.

    Oh my gosh, I´m so so glad I watched this video! XD I´m a Light Spring, too, and heavily into 12 tone colour analysis. But I´m from Germany and of course I´m much lighter with light blue-green eyes and darkblonde hair, even within my seasonal FB group the palest. We´ve got a handful from Australia there. I always look out for other light springs from everywhere online, never met another one in personal and I even knew some bright springs. LOL The light ones must be so rare that they don´t even sell our colours here!! Big shock for me, but it kept me completely attached to the topic.
    I´ll totally have to watch out for the colours you´re wearing! And I actually loved the lighter lipstick on you...
    Best wishes and much fun with that bunch of helpful tools from the analysis 🧡💛💚💙💜🤎❤

      there is no way this girl is a LIght Spring. The colours in the Light Spring palette are very light. Light Springs are typically blue eyed golden blondes and the lighter redheads. More likely she is a Bright Winter.

    I've seen different kinds of these. They're always so interesting.
    It always reminds me how I can't wear make ups with any blues in it (green, purple, blue) bc they make the veins really evident in my face. Otherwise I've always landed in a more neutral (not too warm or too cool) color.

    Plus if you look at the color schemes your analyst chose, it’s reminiscent of Tang dynasty paintings and fashions, which I thought would go nicely with the Spring palette.

    Here is something to ponder when it comes to color analysis. You might think all the colors you've loved does not look good on you. But don't take it to heart and omit those colors you love entirely. The whole point of color analysis is to find balance. Say you want to insist on purple-ish lipstick colors, ensure every other part is balanced to your skin tone. You can afford one or two colors to stray from the normal, but keep the rest following your recommended color analysis results. OR layer the favorite color over the recommended color. Another thing to keep in mind is how much % of your whole image is covered in those colors. Clothing and hair would take up more percentage than lips or eyeshadow, but eyeshadow and lipstick may be what others focus and look at since facial recognition is so important when meeting people. So you can try to find some balance in your color choices if you still like to stick to your fave colors that might not fall in your recommended color analysis results.

    I got one done yesterday. There is an element of trying to squash your biases of not liking a colour. Just because one may not like a colour doesn’t mean it doesn’t suit or look good on you

    Although you should wear any color that makes you feel good, this was interesting. I wear bold crazy makeup and colors and always will. But I'd like to try this because I might be missing out on colors that might be more flattering. I do think the colors she chose look really nice on you. I would love to see you try outfits based on her recommendations. :)

    You have more yellow than I do but it’s close enough that I could totally see why she choose those colors. I am True summer since I am more blue than yellow but our light overtone definitely doesn’t do well with the dark tones.
