  • Exploring Binary Phase Diagrams: Isomorphous Examples. In this video, Dr. Loay Al-Zube, an associate professor in biomedical engineering, explains binary and Isomorphous Binary Phase Diagrams. In this episode, Dr. Al-Zube uses the Phase Diagram of Cu-Ni as an example, which has 2 phases and 3 different phase fields.
    Phase diagrams Indicate phases as a function of Temperature, Composition, and Pressure.
    For this course:
    - binary systems: just 2 components.
    - independent variables: T and C (P = 1 atm =101325 Pa =1.01325 bar is almost always used).
    Isomorphous Binary Phase Diagram: complete solubility of one component in another.
