I have this very watch!... got the bracelet, too! Yep, the strap is fine, but the bracelet makes the watch. This thing is great! (resizing the bracelet is a sort of pain in the patoot, with the pin-and-collar system, but if you spend the time it comes together nicely)
I was looking for a Quartz or Solar dive watch with a sapphire crystal and Scurfa was definitely one of the final choices. In the end I went for the Horloscaphe NC001. The story for that watch is similar to Scurfa - watchmaker in Paris that dives as a hobby decides to make a watch. Why I chose Horloscaphe over Scurfa is because the dimensions are a little smaller, I liked the more tool-watch aesthetics of the Horloscaphe a little more and the Horloscaphe has a lithium-ion battery, meaning 10 year battery changes. But Scurfa? I think you can't go wrong with one of these.
Another great review Rob! So glad you finally got in front of the camera with Bruce. I had almost convinced myself that your real name was Raymond and Patricia Heaton would pop out any moment to ruin your vids lol! Get out front more,
Rob, great vid. Scurfa looks great and bracelet really takes that watch up a couple levels. Yellow hands are great!Side note, Just unboxed red glycine combat sub and wouldn’t you know it, got my Borealis Adraga blue no date too. I’m into a little watch nirvana. Thanks for putting me on to that Borealis!
If they manage to do a 40 mil auto with a 9015 movement and nice color choices, it would be very interresting. Keeping an eye open, thanks for your review :)
I also tried to email the owner (twice in fact) about the availability of a replacement bezel insert should I ever damage mine. Like you, I also received zero response. It's not as if he is short on time either as he is active on social media. It makes me worry about what would happen should I ever needed to email him regarding repairs. In summation, the Scurfa customer service 'team' needs to up their game.
This makes me hesitant to order. On the other hand, can you believe that Tisell replied to my email within 3 days and gave me spec data on the gaskets should when it needs servicing?
It’s a husband and wife team running the company. Paul does just about everything himself. When he’s saturation diving, he’s often away for 2-3 weeks and doesn’t always have access to the internet to reply to inquiries. That’s probably why his responses can be slow (week or two delay).
Nice review and very nice looking watch. Btw, where are they manufactured and assembled? I looked up their website but couldn't find any "made in" information. They wrote down the country for the storage boxes but nothing for the actual watch. Kind of awkward.. I wonder if they didn't mark it because it's made in China.
@@RandomRobReviews Yea, I also heard luxury brands are doing the same thing with their leather goods. However I think informing the customers will be more appropriate rather than saying nothing. It's illegal not to in some countries.
I've heard about it too for a while but had been hesitant , so few reviews and the yellow hands kinda turned me off. But I may give it another look. Solid review.
Rob. Won't it mess with the water resistant when take the back off???. Please let me know. Great time piece. I'm going to get one in my collection. Great video's sir.
You just have to be careful that everything is clean, seated, and lubed. No harm done. Most watches will leak at the crown (90%) as those gaskets are more stressed (whenever you unscrew and rotate/wind crown = much more stress than opening caseback once or so).
I am very accepting of quartz watches, but not so much in divers. Battery changes are a major pain if the watch h will actually be used as a dive tool. Pressure testing with every battery change is not cool. When I want quartz accuracy in a diver, I look to solar power.
I bought an eco drive recently and swore I would not go back to non solar quartz, but this may change my mind, is it easy to change the battery in this movement?
It's a nice PPK, I am sure this 9mm having a mag containing 6 rounds and 1 in the chamber. Although you did not mention clearly about the sights. But finally a nice and clean table to make the review. Looks like you are listening to the Good Fella Nicky Pintero.
Samuel Ball I mean it’s 3x the cash. It doesn’t bring 3x the benefits to me. Especially for a non solar quartz diver. It’s not even a thermocompensated movement. It’s just a cheap Rhonda. It’s a phoibos with a different name printed on the dial. And different colors. At least the phoibos has a readable flat sapphire.
Hi Samuel, I can guarantee it’s definitely not the same watch, you will not find another watch like this with another logo on, you must be mistaken, regards paul
Love my Scurfa ( Custom Toxic Nato Edition).
Scurfa makes an amazing quality, true tool watch.
100% agree. Would like to try more later too

Oh yeah I remember now. Yeah the pin and collar is really nice though.

How is the Horloscaphe so far?
@@AILDdrums Sold it after 1 month. Nothing wrong with it, just didn't warm to it.
Only major complaint for me is the distortion in the sapphire. Solid looking, simple and vibrant. Thanks Rob
It has been getting much wrist time.
It has a helium escape valve for sat chamber dives too. Great watch, they just released a polished version with no yellow on the hands
Loooove the yellow hands. Good looker right there.
Because of the complexity of enduring 500m, it is very interesting. That would have to better withstand moisture. A hug !!!
I got the M.S. 19 release of the Diver One this summer and I love it. Great brand, solidly built.
I have an MS17 on a bracelet - it’s great. It’s a really legible no nonsense dive watch. Thanks for sharing.
I own 2 watches by Paul Scurfield, they are fantastic.
Excellent watch, my Diver One is superb.
Need to do a review of the new Scurfa Treasure Seeker.
Another great review Rob! So glad you finally got in front of the camera with Bruce. I had almost convinced myself that your real name was Raymond and Patricia Heaton would pop out any moment to ruin your vids lol! Get out front more,
Thanks. Monday live with guest will be on camera.

Really great watch. Thanks for showing it.
This watch has a Vintage Tudor Submariner look.
Definitely the blue on the bezel, scurfa nailed it

You're making me want to order a Bell Diver lol.
I've always liked these
4th ! ha ha so what right? Like this color scheme.
Really nice shade of blue. I like it.
A cost of mid 200 on rubber strap given all the watch presents is a good deal in my opinion!

I would love that watch if you ever get tired of it let me know Rob

It’s pretty safe to assume all watches are made in China. Even the “Swiss made” have many or most parts from China.

so cool
Hey Rob maybe on the funday sale?
Scurfa? No it’s mine and holding on to it.
Rob. Won't it mess with the water resistant when take the back off???. Please let me know. Great time piece. I'm going to get one in my collection. Great video's sir.
It could, but it will be fine. Clean gaskets and little gasket lube. Not a big deal.

Go get yourself a citizen tough. No more leaky case back.
I dig it! Thanks for sharing.

heheh we just talked about that video :) great vid rob ! as always ....
Just don’t see any need for a 500m diver for me. Looks nice though.
where can i find this watch?
I bought an eco drive recently and swore I would not go back to non solar quartz, but this may change my mind, is it easy to change the battery in this movement?
Rob, is there plenty of room in the bracelet? I need around 8”.
love this watch ! they are out of stock on that bracelet though :(
Yeah I noticed that, more will be in stock soon I am sure.
i joined your group

And why not engrave the 'Sea Dweller' meters on this electronic ?
A bit much for a quartzie
$230 is expensive?
Idk, it’s hard for me to consider anything like that when phoibos is knocking it out of the park all the time.
This piece looks far superior to anything from Phoibos. Much better construction by the looks of it.
Samuel Ball
You crazy. It’s the same watch. With different colors.
@@oldfashionedsportsmanchave4590 certainly not crazy. We'll agree to disagree 😉
Needless to say I'd buy 1 of these everytime over a Phoibos watch.

Squarts peh! Me need mechanical!
Why? Eeeerm
Surely accuracy is essential for a diver!! Hmmm
This watch needs a proper mechanical movement. It's a stunning piece imo.
Even now its a waste of time due to them never having any stock! 6months later and they still have no watches for sale! Pointless adventure...
