Imagine how happy other companies were when Apple announced they wouldn't include a charger or earphones in the box anymore. Now they can all justify selling their products at the same price but saving a buck and increasing their profit margins

LG, to its credit, is now the _ONLY_ major smartphone OEM (at least of those who produce flagships) that continues to offer not only micro-SD card support, but also 3.5mm headphone jacks (with good DACs) in its devices.
On the downside, LG's Android skin is disliked by many, OS updates are infrequent and inconsistent, and most of its phones have unlockable Bootloaders (making them hard to root for those who'd like to install a custom ROM).

@@Sharky165 Sony does all that. Look at the Experia 5 ii. 6 inch 1080p 21 by 9 aspect ratio 120hz oled display with a 240hz touch response. A headphone jack. A notification led light. No notch. No hole punch. Micro SD expansion. IP68 water resistance. Front facing stereo speakers. Paired with a super stock like OS with very minor tweaks and apps like a very professional camera app. All for 900 bucks.
Only problem is no one buys them, the camera app has a learning curve and I don't know how the modding community is like. If you can unlock the bootloader and flash roms and throw on Pixel Experience on there, you have the best phone imo. Or just throw gcam on it.
Fun fact, almost every high-end smartphone uses Sony's own cameras. It's all about the software tuning.

I think Samsung can decide on their own how to treat their customers. They do not have to follow the other company. Other company just realized how to make more money first.

The stand out thing is that the iPhone 12 has a differant new lightning cable but the s21 has a superior usb-c port Samsung listened to the "better for the environment" thing because they knew everyone has a usb-c and wasn't thirsting for more money like crapple
Not gonna lie, I have yet to use usb c widespread. Lighting has been around for so many years at this point, that most people have cables lying around. I don’t think either of them should have removed the cable entirely, but I also don’t believe Samsung removed it “any better” as for a lot of people, usb c isn’t as widespread as it may seem.

I haven't heard anyone say it yet, but my hypothesis is that by Samsung including the pen as an optional accessory, now the differences between Ultra and Note are so thin, they might be able to get rid of that Note lineup and the Ultra takes its place? The gap has been thinning over the years, and this might be one more step in that direction of the merging.
@@kylerballiet3770 I would generally agree, longer-term anyway, but that can't/won't happen until the Fold has a glass display, so that it can handle the rigors of stylus input.
In the meantime, Ben's right in that, assuming the Note 21 Ultra is Samsung's last of that line, the Galaxy S Ultras will become the company's candy-bar, S-pen-compatible flagships.

Samsung was one of the few that was left with micro sd card slot. That is no longer the case unfortunately.

I was wondering that myself... If i'm the only one who was not that excited with the s21 release (like expected something more mindblowing, not saying that the new 5nm exynos 2100 isn't nice, but...). Anyway, i'm now way more excited about the upcoming fold 3.
I'm actually more excited for next gen Exynos chip which will come with AMD RDNA gpu.

Dave's made it clear that, while he acknowledges that smartphone OEMs typically put the best cameras & other features in their largest flagships, he personally prefers smaller phones.
So yeah, chonky/chonkier are most def whimsical but appropriate descriptors of the S21 Ultra. 👍🏻🤣
Why does every company feel the need to copy Apple’s business model, they should look to offer something different and sell where Apple fails.

Sadly there is no SD Card slot anymore, I use it regularly. Hopefully they get it back on the S22, if not I stay on my S20 or have to switch to other Companies with SD Card Support :/

The Galaxy S21s all come with a charging cable, but yes you're right, no brick nor headphones or at least a dongle. Unlike Apple, Samsung has dropped all the S21 prices by $200 to offset some of the missing features.
But, those MSRPs were artificially raised last year due to Qualcomm's SD 865/x55 pricing, so I do think that Samsung's pricing games are exasperating and SHOULD be talked about more.
Samsung should've/could've dropped the S21s by $300 and they'd sell even more phones; just look at the success of the S20 FE.
Kinda disappointed with s21+. Rumours suggested s21+ having quad HD curved display with micro sd slot. But you dont get either. So only difference between s21 and s21+ is size and plastic vs glass back with a huge price difference of almost 200$😑
Seems like samsung only wants to sell its ultra model🤷🏻♂️
Finally, someone said what I've been thinking about the Note's stylus for literally 10 years. Too small to fulfill its potential.

Samsung lost it since the Galaxy s9 and seems that they are set on sucking more and more. What do guys you think about this?: a phone with expandable storage, Symmetric design, maybe thicker body, but more battery life and NO stupid camera bump, just the necessary cameras, Norma, Wide and telephoto, under-screen front camera, dual front facing speakers and headphone jack. Is it too much to ask???
I've been a Samsung user since S6 edge but this year Samsung decided to become Apple minus design minus SD card minus charger minus headphones minus price = I'm out.
I'll wait for LG Rollable if it's not up to the hype I'll go back to iPhones even though I hate IOS.

Please samsung😑 not everyone wants huge Ultra models. Most people want flagship specs in portable size without too many compromises as been done in s21 and s21+. If you are gonna copy apple in removing chargers, at least learn to copy small device sizes with flagship specs😑🙌🏻

next year no cables in the box since that other company decided that you have enough cables in your house and that it would decrease the e-waste by 30%. Because they believe every normal person throws away their working bricks and cables instead of keeping them as spare ones. If they cared they would've given the option to remove the brick from the box and get the phone for like 20$ less or some shit.
The S pen on the S21 makes no sense because, if you are purchasing it separately, why not just buy a note.
And if a person wants a bigger pen as Dave said it is, then why not just purchase Tab S7 and get the bigger screen too?
You could have said: first no jack, now no sd card, that's enough, I'm done with Samsung, end of the review.
