I just started playing in the last week after seeing it on my steam page occasionally for a few years but being put off by the price and reviews. Thiught id try it out in the build up to this patch after seeong it was f2p and your lgv refit video came up in my recommended. Wanted to say thanks for introducing me to such a cool game and a great community
I really do like the update, which is a massive improvement since the ones they released a few years ago, but I still have a few issues...the primary one being the sudden lack of merchant and even naval shipping in general across the OW. Another one I and many members of my clan dislike is that, while the new perks are great, the loss of the Prepared perk, while in itself not terrible, is worsened by the fact the AI starts every battle with guns loaded; with the new mechanics, that means the AI is able to get off what may be a deciding salvo right at the start without a player being able to do anything. Either getting rid of the Prepared feature altogether for both AI and players, or embedding it so everyone has it with no perk effect, would have to be the best option I believe.
I also can't understand myself why the developers always insist on taking two steps back every time they take one step forward, but I think the game is better than it was before the update.
14:30, if you have a kill mission for a specific type of ship that the NPCs no longer command currently active that mission will be automatically completed

About 14:38 when you are unsure about what the quest means, does it just mean any passenger/cargo/battle/conquest quest you took before the update auto completes and gives you the reals maybe. Either way thanks for going through the update and making sense of so many confusing things for us new players!
I have been playing on GB for a couple weeks and so far I'm loving the update. Especially the safe zones. I'm not sure why players complain about it - just go to the choke points. The Combat chat showed that there was a lot of pvp happening.
I want to see some rooms added and make it so, we can walk around the ships like in other ship sim games. Plus add some people's on the ships, they look to empty!
I tested the details on the new gunnery by taking a Victory (1765) in a 1st Rate Mission against three standard Victories and fought for the entire duration of the battle clock only sinking one and severely damaging the other two while receiving only mild damage to my own ship. I felt that this was far more realistic and, despite failing the mission, what XP I got, I felt I truly earned. Not bad thus far.
KairoS remember what I was saying about safe zones etc it’s all happening as I said it would for the most part , and the stern and bow racking is insane 1-3 shooting 2nd and 3rd rates , I haven’t done it to a 1st rate but I’m assuming it’s the same way, there’s no point in fighting it’s insane , if you can’t get someone off your tail your done for that goes for the bow , I honestly feel bad for 1shooting 3rd rates like ouch 🤕 , the health armor on the sides I love it ! But on the stern and Bow just a big OOF Don’t get me started on the safe zones They are way to big and everyone is abusing the safe zones abilities as I said people would, hunting player traders are virtually impossible now unless you can ketch one out of safe zone and you’ll be hard pressed to find that

I used to love this game but the player base just fell off to almost nothing. I hope the player base picks up because it is truly a lovely game. I just like playing in clans and I never found on in this game.

One other change: warehouse slot capacity has increased, at least for doubloons. Don't know what it is now but it is at least 50k+ per slot.
Yes, I notice you can fit a lot more doubloons in your money chest too,
Honestly I hope they add colored sails . I would love to design my ships sails

Yes, I had a quest for hunting Surprises for instance and it auto-completed.

I agree. Though I do think there are a few too many safe areas at the moment, the addition of them is fantastic.

Yeah dude the bonus damage for raking is completely broken. My cutter is one shotting 5th rates
I like the update the only problem Is the nerfed xp, it's impossible to get an higher rank I farm something like 200/300xp

Things are certainly looking more promising for the game than they have in a long time. Hopefully this will bring some people back.
