I forgot to mention in the tutorial that service medals will apparently be compensated after the Caribbean server wipes, so the time you invest grinding for medals will hopefully not go to waste.
I bought a ship dlc will that go when the server goes and thanks for your very helpful videos.
@@johnnyd3387 The individual ship will disappear I imagine, but you can simply reclaim a new one after the server wipes. You can claim a dlc ship once every 24 hours as long as you don't already have it in your fleet.

@@kairos468 I am having issues with the 2 ship fleets of 1st rates in the Tumabo patrol zones.
Same for the Bahamas as well, I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong.
They're the only ones in Tumbado so clearly they're what we're supposed to attack but how? I mean my ships aren't new but they aren't that out of date.

Great video, I stopped playing around 6 months ago and keep watching your channel in case there is changes. This seems exhausting, you would have to dedicate so many hours to make the smallest gains.
Are players finding reels really hard to come by? They broke the economy when they stopped reel payments for battles.

Well I'm actually enjoying the game as it stands now, though I can understand the frustration some must have felt with such huge changes. I hear the wipes will happen every six months instead of three, and service medals will be compensated on the next wipe. This was definitely the right choice in my opinion.
As for reals, I can only say I've actually found it easier to make money than ever before. I think because crafting woods and resources drop at random ports so often now, so I'm pretty content.

A question. You said to invest service medals into shipbuilding first. 10:09 But, i won’t be able to build a ship until I have some materials production right? These bonuses are for ships that I build, I presume. Do these ‘shipbuilding bonuses’ also apply to ships im sailing now that I bought from the port? Why not invest in putting iron or coal into my ‘home port’ so I have materials to build with? In other words, don’t I need to invest in materials production first? Thx for the vid.
The reason I advise getting port bonuses going first is that resources drop in bulk at ports now, so if you look around, you can find everything you'll need without investing. However, iron and coal can be hard to find, so there's no harm in investing in these early, and you can always sell resources to other players. Your bonuses will only apply to ships you build yourself, not ships you buy or capture.
@@kairos468 OK. So why invest in port bonuses first, when I won’t be able to benefit from them until sometime in the future when I build a ship? Oh, because you’re saying I should buy the materials I need, Start making ships now, get the bonuses, then build the economy. Ok. I think I follow now. I do like to setup my own production if possible. That’s the fun part for me. I appreciate your vids and comments. 👍
I also had not played the game in a long time and saw they reverted the combat changes so I came back. Perhaps it's time for another rags to riches series?
I've moved away from the series model recently, but I should probably add a few episodes to rags to riches to cover things I missed, we shall see.
Really helpful video. New player to Naval Action, I need to soak up any information I can receive because the game doesn't tell you much jumping in. Sorry to say that I am on Espana though.
There is a lot to learn and you're right that the tutorials in game aren't really very good.

Are kill missions still a thing? I can only find search and destroy/hunt which take ages and only count as 1!

@millsy25084606 this game keeps changing so often. I was also wondering about the kill missions. This vid was only 3 months ago and it's out of date already and there's not enough creators explaining the game and the devs do a shite job of giving anything close to a tutorial

Your service medals should stay, I think. I haven't played in a while though, so not 100% sure. I'd ask around the community before you commit.
Im a new player and can only play on the Caribbean server and ive heard the wipe is coming up next month in june.
Im spending the rest of the season just emjoying some battles, but do you think youll be able to make a video on how to be efficient when grinding when the next season hits?

It will be mostly viable, but they have added things since then.
