I've been using these Overlord pre-recordings as a crutch to keep my upload streak alive, but now we're multiple videos ahead of where we should be in Overlord so it'll be a few weeks before the next Overlord video. Season finale's a decent place to leave off though.

Another interesting fact: If you watched Overlord in sub, voice actor is the same as Okabe from Steins;Gate. Seeing Pandora's actor chuuni behavior instantly reminded of him.
Fun fact. Pandora's actor was planning to kill albedo and the Maid. Since he couldn't sense ainz until seeing him he had no way of telling if they had permission. The truly scary thing is that he probably could as he has 80% of the power of wgatever he copies. Including player characters.
@@soul6733 Probably not, Shalltear is still OP as f*ck, and she was defeated only because Ainz use a lot of different items from different "classes" and "archetype" using broken things from a cashshop, which messes with how she could deal with him. But she was designed to be able to fight entire groups and raid by herself at her floor where she also have other advantages. Touch Me is powerful, but only one enemy with a single fighting style, in 1v1 she's clearly unbeatable, and Pandora's Actor only being able to have 80% of all stats of the person he change into, it clearly wouldn't be enough.
@@cargogax eh. There are a couple who stood a chance in 1v1. Ainz and touch me are strong but ainz is only like the 3rd strongest caster. One of the members can cast spells from 2km away apparently so if they fought shaltear and in that instance I'd say they could kite her to death since she has nothing to close the distance fast enough.
@@cargogax There is to consider however that Touch Me is incredibly powerful, so much so that apparently Ainz tried fighting like 100 times each with a different strategy and all failed.
@@cargogax the main issue pandoras actor would have in this matchup would be the equipment since his transformations only copy the actual character stats but on the other side despite only having 80% of the guildmembers stats touch me does focus on stun locking his opponents to the point he would be considered untouchable therefor his name also even if albedo is an absolute tank theres also the creator of demiurge (whos name i forgot) who specializes in super high powered one shotting spells so pandoras actor can at least break albedos defenses relatively easily obviously there are several circumstances to consider but i think it would be quite an even battle (im ignoring yuri alpha in this cause pandoras actor could just one shot her)
So fun fact: Mare has a shy and cowardly personality, the kind which is a polar opposite to his sister, Aura. He often stutters when speaking and maintains a subservient demeanor during conversations. This, however, is only an outward guise and does not affect his loyalty to Ainz or his ability to carry out his duties, no matter how cold-blooded they may be. Beneath his shy and retiring facade, Mare is capable of showing hostility and determination to those who threaten the territory of the 41 Supreme Beings. A frequent oddity of Mare, seemingly only noted by entities from outside Nazarick (especially those he's about to kill), is how he seems to be pretending when he acts meek, as if he's putting on an act unlike the other former NPC's. This is because his creator created him to act a certain way, and so that's what he does, but underneath that is the same loyalty and disregard for those outside of nazarick everyone else has, and despite how kind he may seem, he does have a negative karma of about 100-150 i believe-which is neutral evil in the game. Mare's name is Italian, with "mare" meaning "sea," "Bello" meaning "beautiful," and "Fiore" meaning "flower."
Solution, the maid who ate that one guy, is actually a slime that was designed and edited so thoroughly she looks human. The name solution is a reference to her acidity.
Fun fact: The Goal of All Life is Death is a super secret skill only Ainz unlocked for going 100% into the Necromancer/Lich skill tree. Essentially when it's cast, the next one shot move used (Banshee Scream) will be delayed by 12 seconds, and anything in it's range with immunity to instant kill moves (Shalltear, grass, the air itself) is stripped of it's immunity. It has 100 hr cooldown.
So, about the one who controlled Shalltear. She was shown, it was the old lady with the robe with a dragon on it. The robe its a world item capable of taking over any single enemy into a servant. Shalltear, as soon as she was affected, used the last of her will to kill the caster. That left her in this stagnant state, frozen without a purpose. Similar to the Lich in adventure time once he was locked in the time wish room.
@@Jr837_she initially survived and they tried to keep her alive, but she did eventually die later. Shalltear used the same holy arrow ability she used on Ainz and used extra MP to guarantee it would hit her. Even though she couldn't prevent herself from being mind controlled by the Downfall of Castle and Country world item, she used all her willpower to fight back the best way she could-by killing the person using the world item.
Pandora's actor may act stupid is because as his name says, he's acting. He is just as smart as Albedo and Demiurge that isn't a lie. His job was to protect the treasury and he can transform into any of the 41 Supreme Beings, as he is a doppelganger, and to have all the weapons together with him ( as doppelgangers can't transform weapons) this makes him really powerfull, so he can kill anyone who invade the treasury. That's what he was doing when he transformed into Tabula, he sensed Albedo and Yuri and choose the best person to transform into in order to win Also the reason why Shalltear stood in place, if you replay the part where she is mind-controled she retaliated by attacking two people, one that tried shielding the other but we can see Shalltear piercing them, one of them ( the old lady) was the one that used the mind control spell and both of them died. And since they died before giving her order. She was just mind controlled waiting for any sort of interaction
Cocytus was not created by Touch Me, but Warrior Takemikazuchi. He just knows about touch me because they all worship the Supreme beings and memorize them all. Cocytus in particular as a warrior memorizes gear, armor, and strategy.
Comment chapter 11 When Ainz, disguised as Momon, hears what the Adventurer's Guild report about Shalltear, he wanted to do his best to divert attention and was about to tell them that that vampire's name was actually Carmilia, but then he remembered that This name is widely used in games or Anime for female vampires and if a player from their world heard it, they could deduce that Shalltear is someone from Ygdrassil. So, flustered and hurried, Ainz made up Honyopenyoko's name without thinking of anything specific, except that it sounded completely different from Shalltear and Carmilia. Hence the name he invented is so silly. Now let's talk about Pandora's Actor. He is a doppelganger that has the power to mimic the forms of the 41 members of the Ainz Ooal Gown guild with 90% effectiveness. When Ainz created it he really didn't have anything in mind and just combined a bunch of things that seemed cool to him, but once put together, he found the result a bit embarrassing. His uniform is inspired by that of the Nazis, but before anyone feels offended, let's not forget that Japan and Germany were Allies during the World War II, so his view of them is not as negative as the one we have in West. Furthermore, while after the war the Westerners had to suffer the consequences of the destruction and then the Cold War, the Japanese suffered the effects of the Atomic Bombs that the US dropped on them. In Japan they value strong countries a lot, that's why they are always imitating England (which almost colonized them), the USA that defeated them in 1945 and Germany, which from their point of view is a great country warriors that dared to face the rest of the world practically alone, twice, and almost won. Of course that is a thing of the past and the modern Japanese are not thinking of killing anyone, waging war or taking revenge on the allies. As I have already told you, they actually admire the US for having defeated them, as they admire all the strong. I'm just telling you that their view of the events in the World War is naturally different from ours. Also, it's fair to say that the Nazi uniforms looked pretty good. For all these reasons there are many young Japanese who admire, not Nazism itself, but the military power of Germany in World War II. Now a new level of Ygdrasill's magic is revealed to us. For level 100 players the 10th tier of magic was the maximum and they had to use it carefully because it consumed a lot of MP and also some spells could consume Experience Points, which meant losing levels. This didn't matter much in the game because a player could recover Experience Points by killing monsters or doing quests, but in the New World it's not that easy. Ainz has many powers and powerful summons that he does not dare to use for fear of not being able to recover the Experience Points that they would cost. Also, there is a kind of eleventh tier of magic, which would be Super Tier Magic, however, its characteristics are different. First it doesn't consume MP, so it's more like a skill. Then there is the problem that they take a long time to cast and then any player of the party can used again for a long time. And finally, that many of these magic consume Experience Points. In short, it would be the Special Move in a video game, that attack that takes a lot of health off the enemy if you manage to do it right, but can be easily interrupted. Wish Upon a Star is an eleventh tier magic that consumes Experience Points, but thanks to the Ring Ainz has he can use it about 3 times for free. In the game, he granted you some random wishes that many times could not be fulfilled and the administrator had to intervene. But in the New World there are almost no limits to what you can ask for. However, this time was unable to remove Shalltear's mind control because it was imposed by a World Class Item. World Class Items are the 200 rarest and most powerful items in the Ygdrassill game. Ainz Ooal Gown's guild has 11 in total and the next ranked guild only has 3. That gives you an idea of how rare it was to have just one of them. World Class Items were so powerful because they could alter even game mechanics and each one had different abilities. Now I can tell you that the World Class Item that controlled Shalltear was the dress of the old lady who was killed by the spear of light and it can basically mind control someone even if they have immunity. Among the 200 World Class Items there are 20 that are considered the most powerful, but disappear after being used once. In the novel, Ainz mentions that two of the 20 are stored in the treasury, and that one of them could remove Shalltear's brainwashing effect, but he hesitates to use it because it would lose right after. That's why they have to defeat her. The reason he went to the treasury is because the only way to be immune to the effects of a World Class Item is to hold one yourself. Ainz wants to give one to each Floor Guardian so that they are protected against them. In the next comment I will explain why Shalltaer is so powerful.
Well this moment The Goal of all life Is death is basicly Ainz ultimate move in the game most people went for min max builds but not Ainz he went for undead plus necromancer and as a reward gained access to a hidden Eclipse Class and access to TGOALID It basicly sets a 12 second timer on any instant death spell but once those 12 seconds are over the target (or in this case targets) just die ignoring instant death immunity The skill has a hundred hour Cooldown Time and in the new world was upgraded to kill everything the light novel says that after cry of the banshee everything in the area died the ground grass even the air which tasted stale
Something they don't explain in the anime, that eye that caused Shalltear to freeze up was actually Aura using her one of her skills to stun her. Ainz froze up for an instant, hesitating to kill Shalltear, Aura backed him up by using her breath weapon to stun her from a distance, stopping Shalltear from managing to attack Ainz. That's why we see Aura release a whisp right after Shalltear died and why Shalltear commented on saying goodbye to Aura.
@@ensanesane The anime doesn't explain a TON of stuff, they need to cut stuff to fit the story in a set number of episodes, and the Novel is extremely packed with info that wouldn't fit in that short time.
So, from this part we learn that: Pereroncino was the guild's resident powergamer. (Shalltear's built makes a lot of sense as Nazarick's "gatekeeper boss" - if the attackers didn't have levels and equipment to take her down quickly, it didn't matter how many allies they brought along - she was the perfect counter for that) Tabula Smaragdina was the guild's resident nerd. (the password to the treasury is the first verse of the Emerald Tablet.)

Supposedly the dub voice actress of Albedo is Ainz' dub voice actor's ex. teacher/trainer, so it's kind of funny when you imagine those two going back and forth and the teacher simping for the student.
In the Light Novel, Ainz basically comes to the conclusion that Shalltear was designed with the sole intention of countering him. She has holy magic, which he is weak to, is undead so she can't be instant killed, a warrior who can overwhelm him physically, wielding a weapon that life drains any minion he tries to summon, and even has a revival item so he can't steal a win with The Goal of All Life is Death. The only advantage Ainz has in the fight is that he knows he's at a disadvantage and can act accordingly. If she were smarter, Ainz would never have even had remote chance of winning.
Not only caught the blade with her fingers, but from behind. In the sub Albedo calls Shalltear a lamprey when they were arguing in the throne room, you can now see why.
In the game, Ainz Ooal Gown the guild reached the rank of top 9 in the game for success and power, but was also the guild with the largest number of world items ever collected with a total of 9. Shalltear is the strongest of the floor guardians with Peroroncino having perfectly minmaxed her for combat. This is why she is the guardian of all of the first 3 floors unlike the others who guard only 1 each. The design of her build for health steal means that increasing the number of combatants does not necessarily increase chances of victory, which is one of the reasons why Ainz decides to fight her alone. Finally, Ainz is at a statistical disadvantage in the fight against shalltear because his build is necromantic and instant death based, summons would heal her and instant death does not affect undead, except for the one skill he used which spawned a clock, the Goal of All Life is Death, a skill unique to Ainz even in the game which allows him to once every 80 hours to cause instant death spells to bypass all immunities and resistances. Edit: Shalltear is the bloody valkyrie, as she possesses that class.
the reason ainz couldnt detect the owner of the item and that shaltear was left without orders is that shaltear killed her with her last attack before being controlled. edit: oh i only noticed this now after so long but i missed the part where it was stated that she was injured not dead.

Her recovery rate was slowed due to Shalltear's Cursed Knight class that renders wounds hard to heal, and during a meeting of the highest authorities of the Slane Theocracy, it was mentioned that Lady Kaire had succumbed to her wounds and died. I think it was at some point in season 4.
Overlord spends a remarkable amount of time focusing on secondary characters, even if they only last for a few episodes. That's one of the things that make the story unique. It doesn't build the main characters as much from spending time with them, as it does by showing them from the eyes of so many others.

The reason why the person who brainwash Shalltear abandoned her because right before she got fully brainwashed, Shalltear killed the person using a lance.
The goal of all life is death is a skill than buffs instant death magic to bypass resistances and immunities, and it kills everything, down to and including the sand and the air itself in range of the spell used in conjunction with the skill. For instance, the sandy area the fight finished in would be unlivable for any living creature that requires air to live, as breathing it in would poison them. This is actually different from the game, as it didn't effect maps in the game, so in certain aspects Ainz is more powerful in this New World than he was in YGGDRASIL The New World Ainz was transported to actually has a few cool differences between our own that aren't ever included in the anime. For example, the oceans aren't salt water, the air resistance is near non-existent-meaning it's hard to know if there's a terminal velocity and Ainz hasn't tested it- and farmers can farm near all year due to magic being able to refresh the nutrients in soil instantly. The red headed adventurer is named Britta, and in the light novel it's explained that after Shalltear interrogated her, she was placed in with a bunch of kidnapped women the bandits had and was rescued later. Shalltear is a hybrid class. Valkyrie is a divine magic caster class which specialized in fighting power. They're very effective against undead, and the class also grants access to the Einherjar, which are golem-like constructs that take on a bleached white imitiation of their summoner, they can't copy the skills or abilities of the summoner, or their magic gear, but they have gear that takes the appearance of their gear. They also have the same stats as their summoner. And of course being golems/constructs they have many of the same immunities and resistances as undead. Yeah, the NPCs of Nazarick need someone to obey, because it's literally how they were created, to be loyal to the guild members. It's literally their greatest pleasure in life to serve. They know exactly who created them, exactly what their purpose is, and exactly what the leader of their creators want(or at least think they do) When Pandora's Actor says the sentence, "Wenn es meines Gottes Wille ist," it means "If it is my God's will." Fairly easy to guess based on context and the words themselves. Pandora's Actor's uniform resembles that of the Neo-Nazi Schutzstaffel. In the Overlord series, this uniform came to the fore during the Arcology War. Realistically, it seems that the war broke out in future Europe (around 2110s) in the World of 2138(Ainz's original world, just called that due to the year it took place) Pandora's Actor was created by Momonga himself during his chūnibyō-phase. The reason Momonga created Pandora's Actor was neither for the sake of battle nor for business. Instead, it was for the main purpose of preserving the identity of Ainz Ooal Gown, leaving behind the images of his guild members. His backstory made note of how he happens to have a liking for managing magic items as his hobby. It was Momonga's original intent to design Pandora's Actor in such a way, so he would not find it strange to be alone in the Treasury, making him believe his position as Treasurer was a heavenly job. However, for some reason, his obsession for cataloging items seemed to have reached the level of a fetish. Yeah, Earth in 2318 is not a good place to live. the destruction of the environment had continued at ever-increasing speed to the point where the surface of the Earth was hopelessly polluted; gorgeous nature existed only in video games. The sky was always hidden behind black smog, while the sun making only brief appearances every now and then. Thick, toxic fog frequently covered the cities, so almost no one went out without wearing a gas mask beforehand. With nature almost completely destroyed, it was highly implied by Ainz that people have no other choice but to also rely on artificial lungs solely created for their safety to help breath in the current, poor state of the environment. Since the plants that would have converted carbon dioxide to oxygen and absorbed nitrogen oxide had all withered due to a death of sun, the atmospheric pollution only worsened. As the number of plants decreased, the populations of birds and insects that ate their leaves and fruit dropped. Of course, the pollution extended to the water as well as all the rivers which led to it changing into horrible colors and becoming murky. The pollution was so bad that water purification systems ceased to function, so even tap water had to be passed through a filter before it could be drunk. Furthermore, during wet weather, Ainz noted the rain was considered to be acidic and foul-smelling in the era where he came from prior to getting transported in the New World. When Momonga's Party of Ainz Ooal Gown challenged the Asura during a dungeon raid in the Great Tomb of Nazarick, it made some party members vividly recalled how very bad the weather was in the World of 2138. They described such weather phenomena to be in the berserk form of a torrential acid rainstorm which filled every person’s vision upon catching sight of it happening before their eyes. The practice of traditional farming, which depended on rainwater and sunlight, declined, and all vegetables and grains were cultivated in domes. The price of food inevitably soared, and raw fruits and vegetables became luxury goods that ordinary people couldn't get their hands on. Brain was actually a little mischaracterized here, in the light novel he doesn't act like it being women is something disgraceful. He knows there are powerful women in the world and has fought with one of blue rose's members as well. He just accepts that there only being two women means they're powerful. Fallen Down: Upon casting the super-tier spell, Ainz calls upon a huge pillar of blue light from the sky that will burn so bright and hot that it will appear like the whole world has turned white. After a few seconds, it will leave behind an area burned to a cinder, devoid of life. Comment Chapter 12 This entire battle was designed keeping in mind that Shalltearr had to be killed twice because her creator, Ainz's friend Peroronchino, had given her an Instant Resurrection Item, which luckily doesn't also restore mana. That is why we see her intact at the end of the chapter. From the beginning Ainz had many disadvantages. To begin with, his game character was not designed for PVP matches but mainly for his own entertainment and ROL. In DOTA terms he would be a “Support” who can also play as a “Semi-Carry”. Instead, Shalltear is a pure “Carry” designed for combat against many players. The only one in charge of defending not one but 3 floors and the strongest of all the Guardians. As if that wasn't enough, Shalltear's creator gave her some "Skills" that precisely help her with her main weaknesses, such as the Negative Impact Shield or the Purifying Spear. These are not powers that she should naturaly have and they help her to overcome opponents who have some advantage over her. Fortunately, there is a limit to the number of these Skills that can be used per day. Much of Ainz's plan for this battle was designed to get Shalltear to spend them all before the end. Finally, Ainz felt guilty about the current situation, so he decided to punish himself by changing his divine equipment to a lower quality one, which further increased his disadvantage. So, yes, this battle was very difficult and it is a great triumph that it has reached this point. Of course, it's not that Ainz is weak either, it's just that his powers don't work well against Shalltiaer's. But still he is a pure mage who managed to win a lot of PVP at the time, although at first he always had to lose a few rounds until he learned the best method to win. Also, in Yggdrassil the limit of spells that could be learned was 300, but Ainz got a special class that allowed him to learn more than 700 spells. We saw a bit of this early on, in the buff number he put on before he started fighting. Shalltear's Einherjar is a construct-type avatar almost visually identical to Shalltear. This Avatar cannot use magic and some of the abilities of the original, but his equipment and stats are the same. This is a very difficult thing to achieve, but Ainz is one of the 13% of players who have perfectly mastered the art of synchronizing spells. So, the magic used against Shalltear is called “Cry of the Banshee” which kills everything that touches the sound within a large area of land. But the effect is enhanced by the ability "The Goal of All Life is Death" and that is why, according to the novel, literally everything died: The creatures, the Einherjar clone, Shalltear, the earth, the plants and even the air... Comment Chapter 13 And we come to the end of the season. Congrats friend! As I mentioned in the previous comment, Ainz's entire battle was based on the strategy of killing Shalltear twice, because she had a resurrection item. Furthermore, he had to make her recklessly spend all those unique “Skills” that could have saved her if she had saved them until the end. Before the climax of the battle Ainz only has enough magic left to cast 3 or maybe 4 spells and so Shalltear thought that she had already won, but they quickly changed things to something to do with the Ygddrassil game. When one created a character and then wanted to change it, he could only lose several battles and levels to rebuild the parts he wanted or directly create a new account. All of this was extremely tedious for level 100 players who had become mages and wanted to try out the warrior class for a while, but only for a short time. Therefore, instead of fear, what she feels is that there is "something dangerous" behind her and thus she is distracted long enough for Ainz to finish breaking his last Cash Item. We see a very small fragment in which Aura is exhaling a kind of purple wind, which is precisely her Fear ability, the same one that we saw Aura use against Hamsuke to provoke him in chapter 7. Resurrection magic is performed using spells or wands. In players, the penalty for reviving was losing some levels. But the NPCs are not players and can be resurrected with money, lots and lots of money. Good thing Ainz decided to save it! Well, that would be it. Also his build was made for roleplaying, however his strategies and battle IQ are extremely high. One last thing, the eye behind Shalltear was a taunt from Aura because Ainz hesitated to use the speedup item to kill Shalltear.
Not even a spoiler. We learned who they were in this set, and Ainz flat out swore to repay them a thousand fold. So not much of a stretch to assume a lot of people are going to die.

Ainz wasn't playing with Shalltear, every thing he did was necessary if he wanted to win. If he started by going warrior he wouldn't be able to go toe to toe with her, because he wouldn't have magic and she would. If he started with he goal of all things os death, he would kill her, but she would resurrect having mp and her clone, and it would be 2 on 1. He carefully used his cards on the right time to carve through her resources until he would have the upper hand in melee combat
Comment chapter 10 Hello friend, thank you for reacting to this Anime so loved by many. As always I will explain some things that may not have been clear based on the Light Novel material and extra content, always trying not to give any spoilers. First of all, I want to remind you that Overlord is not a typical "good guys" versus "bad guys" anime, but rather an Adams Family type of story, where there is a set world of rules and where the events should have unfolded in a certain direction, but then out of nowhere falls a group of dysfunctional deities that turn everything upside down. At first they show us Sebastian and the Battle Maid Solution who are traveling to carry out an infiltration mission, but on the way to their destination they are taking the opportunity to lend a hand to Shalltear who has received instructions from Ainz to capture any powerful person among the bandits of the area, because its disappearance would not attract attention. In Nazarick there are no humans (except one) so all its members are monsters or heteromorphs. Such is the case of the Pleiades Solution, the blonde woman who is actually a type of protozoan-like monster called Slime, which fights by absorbing her enemies. Shalltear responds to this in a violent and arrogant way, showing us how overconfident she is. She even seems willing to fight Sebastian to the death if he doesn't back down on her. But in the end, the butler's fears were true, because we see how Shalltear loses control when she transforms and ends up killing all the bandits that she originally came to capture. In this episode, two disastrous coincidences happen to Shalltear. But luckily, we see that Shalltear managed to kill the person who controlled her just before her spell took effect. That's why she stood still, waiting for orders that would never come. I'm not sure if you know, but theres some mini series called the Ple Ple Pleidas that add some fun little encounters and scenarios as well as showing off a bit more of the cast. Might be worth a watch.

Second season has a lot of Sebas content. My favourite arc in the anime series. Speaking of favourite characters though, I managed to decide who my favourite was in season 3 but it took me until 4 to fill the second and third spots.. and I feel like I'm doing something horrible by picking favourites.
I think OP songs now have some English is due to the fact that Anime has become more and more popular in the west and how more and more Dubbed anime is growing so I think these song writers want to add English notes to sort of show they care for the English side of Anime.

"This is a weird show, I mean, it's kind of the dudes that are speaking to me a little" That is prefectly understandable with Demiurge and Sebas, trust me, Cocytus too in a way, but not yet (you start to appreciate him later). Sebas and Demiurge are almost life inspirations (in very different ways) if I'm being honest, Sebas is the type of man I wish I could be, and Demiurge has the logical thinking and work ethic I aspire. Ainz is also an extremely compelling character that competes strongly for best of the series, though that discussion is hard because so many characters are similarly great. Though I will say, while Albedo and Shalltear also don't really catch me (Despite Shalltear being the kind of character I usually love, specially later on in the story when she starts to have more development), many of the female characters are increadible, even if I don't see any of them as really good waifu material for me. In fact, Aura and Shalltear are my favorite Guardians (followed by Demiurge) and there is one character introduced much later on that is so amazing the fandom unanimously labeled her Best Girl, to such an extent that I have never seen a single word of objection to it.

The anime doesn't explain how The Goal Of All Life Is Death works. What it does is . . . Add a 12 second delay to a death magic spell, but in return it bypasses immunities to death effects. That's why they're fighting on sand. The cry of the banshee killed everything in radius, even the soil under their feet.
The time characters take to always call out the name of their skills and spells is something I at the same time like and dislike about Overlord. On one hand, it somewhat breaks the flow of action scenes, but on the other it really shows how every fight is like a DND fight or a chess match with carefully planed out moves and strategies instead of simple quick action. Also, Ainz's massive buff routine before the fight is absolutely perfect, it's at the same time huge meme material and embodies parfectly what a video game fight is in so many games, specially an MMO like Yggdrasil. If you have all the time you want, obviously you're going to spend a full minute or two buffing with the dozens and dozens of spells you've learned in your thousand hours of playtime, I can relate a lot to that because I've done the exact same thing so many times. It's also worth noting that in most games buffs make a HUGE difference, and almost every MMO has an extremely high enphasis in equipment choice at the endgame. Ainz fully buffed with all his gear specifically chosen to counter Shalltear's build was still having a hard time against her completely buffed with default equipment. Serves to show that she is a LOT stronger than him in combat.

Overlord is a series more remarkable for being consistently very good, and not so much for having great moments, which is why it might've not impressed you that much. Everything in it is really good, but there aren't many huge moments that leave a big impression, and that's what usually ends up being more memorable most of the time. The consistency does make the story become more and more interesting very steadly though as you are shown more about the characters and the world, so most of the time the more recent a chapter of the story is, the better it'll be, because it's always building higher and higher on top of itself. For example, this season adapter volumes 1 to 3 of the LN, which are considered by most to be not as good as the arc covering 5 and 6, that is in turn not as good as the next big arc in volume 10, with volumes 12, 13 and 14 being almost unanimously better than everything before them. (I haven't read 15 yet though, so can't say about that).

shalltear is not the strongest in nazarick, there is Rubedo who is the strongest and can defeat nazarick alone even the supreme fin the 8th floor is full of strong NPCs
I like your reactions, but it's still sad that you decided to react to the dubbed version. The english dub is pretty decent, but the original japanese voice acting is superior. Stuff gets lost in translation or doesn't quite have the same feel as in the original, like how Mare is much more of a trap in the original version since his gender is more subtly handled, or the way Ains is embarrassed about Pandora's Actor ("Don't look at my dark past with such cold eyes >.
I've been using these Overlord pre-recordings as a crutch to keep my upload streak alive, but now we're multiple videos ahead of where we should be in Overlord so it'll be a few weeks before the next Overlord video. Season finale's a decent place to leave off though.

Fun fact. Pandora's actor was planning to kill albedo and the Maid. Since he couldn't sense ainz until seeing him he had no way of telling if they had permission. The truly scary thing is that he probably could as he has 80% of the power of wgatever he copies. Including player characters.

@@soul6733 Probably not, Shalltear is still OP as f*ck, and she was defeated only because Ainz use a lot of different items from different "classes" and "archetype" using broken things from a cashshop, which messes with how she could deal with him.
But she was designed to be able to fight entire groups and raid by herself at her floor where she also have other advantages.
Touch Me is powerful, but only one enemy with a single fighting style, in 1v1 she's clearly unbeatable, and Pandora's Actor only being able to have 80% of all stats of the person he change into, it clearly wouldn't be enough.
@@cargogax eh. There are a couple who stood a chance in 1v1. Ainz and touch me are strong but ainz is only like the 3rd strongest caster. One of the members can cast spells from 2km away apparently so if they fought shaltear and in that instance I'd say they could kite her to death since she has nothing to close the distance fast enough.

So fun fact: Mare has a shy and cowardly personality, the kind which is a polar opposite to his sister, Aura. He often stutters when speaking and maintains a subservient demeanor during conversations. This, however, is only an outward guise and does not affect his loyalty to Ainz or his ability to carry out his duties, no matter how cold-blooded they may be. Beneath his shy and retiring facade, Mare is capable of showing hostility and determination to those who threaten the territory of the 41 Supreme Beings. A frequent oddity of Mare, seemingly only noted by entities from outside Nazarick (especially those he's about to kill), is how he seems to be pretending when he acts meek, as if he's putting on an act unlike the other former NPC's. This is because his creator created him to act a certain way, and so that's what he does, but underneath that is the same loyalty and disregard for those outside of nazarick everyone else has, and despite how kind he may seem, he does have a negative karma of about 100-150 i believe-which is neutral evil in the game. Mare's name is Italian, with "mare" meaning "sea," "Bello" meaning "beautiful," and "Fiore" meaning "flower."
Solution, the maid who ate that one guy, is actually a slime that was designed and edited so thoroughly she looks human. The name solution is a reference to her acidity.
Fun fact: The Goal of All Life is Death is a super secret skill only Ainz unlocked for going 100% into the Necromancer/Lich skill tree. Essentially when it's cast, the next one shot move used (Banshee Scream) will be delayed by 12 seconds, and anything in it's range with immunity to instant kill moves (Shalltear, grass, the air itself) is stripped of it's immunity. It has 100 hr cooldown.
So, about the one who controlled Shalltear. She was shown, it was the old lady with the robe with a dragon on it. The robe its a world item capable of taking over any single enemy into a servant. Shalltear, as soon as she was affected, used the last of her will to kill the caster. That left her in this stagnant state, frozen without a purpose. Similar to the Lich in adventure time once he was locked in the time wish room.

Shalltear used the same holy arrow ability she used on Ainz and used extra MP to guarantee it would hit her. Even though she couldn't prevent herself from being mind controlled by the Downfall of Castle and Country world item, she used all her willpower to fight back the best way she could-by killing the person using the world item.
Pandora's actor may act stupid is because as his name says, he's acting. He is just as smart as Albedo and Demiurge that isn't a lie. His job was to protect the treasury and he can transform into any of the 41 Supreme Beings, as he is a doppelganger, and to have all the weapons together with him ( as doppelgangers can't transform weapons) this makes him really powerfull, so he can kill anyone who invade the treasury. That's what he was doing when he transformed into Tabula, he sensed Albedo and Yuri and choose the best person to transform into in order to win
Also the reason why Shalltear stood in place, if you replay the part where she is mind-controled she retaliated by attacking two people, one that tried shielding the other but we can see Shalltear piercing them, one of them ( the old lady) was the one that used the mind control spell and both of them died. And since they died before giving her order. She was just mind controlled waiting for any sort of interaction
Cocytus was not created by Touch Me, but Warrior Takemikazuchi. He just knows about touch me because they all worship the Supreme beings and memorize them all. Cocytus in particular as a warrior memorizes gear, armor, and strategy.

When Ainz, disguised as Momon, hears what the Adventurer's Guild report about Shalltear, he wanted to do his best to divert attention and was about to tell them that that vampire's name was actually Carmilia, but then he remembered that This name is widely used in games or Anime for female vampires and if a player from their world heard it, they could deduce that Shalltear is someone from Ygdrassil. So, flustered and hurried, Ainz made up Honyopenyoko's name without thinking of anything specific, except that it sounded completely different from Shalltear and Carmilia. Hence the name he invented is so silly.
Now let's talk about Pandora's Actor. He is a doppelganger that has the power to mimic the forms of the 41 members of the Ainz Ooal Gown guild with 90% effectiveness. When Ainz created it he really didn't have anything in mind and just combined a bunch of things that seemed cool to him, but once put together, he found the result a bit embarrassing. His uniform is inspired by that of the Nazis, but before anyone feels offended, let's not forget that Japan and Germany were Allies during the World War II, so his view of them is not as negative as the one we have in West. Furthermore, while after the war the Westerners had to suffer the consequences of the destruction and then the Cold War, the Japanese suffered the effects of the Atomic Bombs that the US dropped on them. In Japan they value strong countries a lot, that's why they are always imitating England (which almost colonized them), the USA that defeated them in 1945 and Germany, which from their point of view is a great country warriors that dared to face the rest of the world practically alone, twice, and almost won.
Of course that is a thing of the past and the modern Japanese are not thinking of killing anyone, waging war or taking revenge on the allies. As I have already told you, they actually admire the US for having defeated them, as they admire all the strong. I'm just telling you that their view of the events in the World War is naturally different from ours. Also, it's fair to say that the Nazi uniforms looked pretty good. For all these reasons there are many young Japanese who admire, not Nazism itself, but the military power of Germany in World War II.
Now a new level of Ygdrasill's magic is revealed to us.
For level 100 players the 10th tier of magic was the maximum and they had to use it carefully because it consumed a lot of MP and also some spells could consume Experience Points, which meant losing levels. This didn't matter much in the game because a player could recover Experience Points by killing monsters or doing quests, but in the New World it's not that easy. Ainz has many powers and powerful summons that he does not dare to use for fear of not being able to recover the Experience Points that they would cost.
Also, there is a kind of eleventh tier of magic, which would be Super Tier Magic, however, its characteristics are different. First it doesn't consume MP, so it's more like a skill. Then there is the problem that they take a long time to cast and then any player of the party can used again for a long time. And finally, that many of these magic consume Experience Points. In short, it would be the Special Move in a video game, that attack that takes a lot of health off the enemy if you manage to do it right, but can be easily interrupted.
Wish Upon a Star is an eleventh tier magic that consumes Experience Points, but thanks to the Ring Ainz has he can use it about 3 times for free. In the game, he granted you some random wishes that many times could not be fulfilled and the administrator had to intervene. But in the New World there are almost no limits to what you can ask for. However, this time was unable to remove Shalltear's mind control because it was imposed by a World Class Item.
World Class Items are the 200 rarest and most powerful items in the Ygdrassill game. Ainz Ooal Gown's guild has 11 in total and the next ranked guild only has 3. That gives you an idea of how rare it was to have just one of them. World Class Items were so powerful because they could alter even game mechanics and each one had different abilities. Now I can tell you that the World Class Item that controlled Shalltear was the dress of the old lady who was killed by the spear of light and it can basically mind control someone even if they have immunity.
Among the 200 World Class Items there are 20 that are considered the most powerful, but disappear after being used once. In the novel, Ainz mentions that two of the 20 are stored in the treasury, and that one of them could remove Shalltear's brainwashing effect, but he hesitates to use it because it would lose right after. That's why they have to defeat her.
The reason he went to the treasury is because the only way to be immune to the effects of a World Class Item is to hold one yourself. Ainz wants to give one to each Floor Guardian so that they are protected against them.
In the next comment I will explain why Shalltaer is so powerful.

It basicly sets a 12 second timer on any instant death spell but once those 12 seconds are over the target (or in this case targets) just die ignoring instant death immunity
The skill has a hundred hour Cooldown Time and in the new world was upgraded to kill everything the light novel says that after cry of the banshee everything in the area died the ground grass even the air which tasted stale
Something they don't explain in the anime, that eye that caused Shalltear to freeze up was actually Aura using her one of her skills to stun her. Ainz froze up for an instant, hesitating to kill Shalltear, Aura backed him up by using her breath weapon to stun her from a distance, stopping Shalltear from managing to attack Ainz. That's why we see Aura release a whisp right after Shalltear died and why Shalltear commented on saying goodbye to Aura.
It's the same skill Aura uses to awaken the Wise King of the Forest, she blew a soft breeze at him and caused him to puff up with fear and awaken him.

Supposedly the dub voice actress of Albedo is Ainz' dub voice actor's ex. teacher/trainer, so it's kind of funny when you imagine those two going back and forth and the teacher simping for the student.
In the Light Novel, Ainz basically comes to the conclusion that Shalltear was designed with the sole intention of countering him.
She has holy magic, which he is weak to, is undead so she can't be instant killed, a warrior who can overwhelm him physically, wielding a weapon that life drains any minion he tries to summon, and even has a revival item so he can't steal a win with The Goal of All Life is Death. The only advantage Ainz has in the fight is that he knows he's at a disadvantage and can act accordingly. If she were smarter, Ainz would never have even had remote chance of winning.

Not only caught the blade with her fingers, but from behind. In the sub Albedo calls Shalltear a lamprey when they were arguing in the throne room, you can now see why.
She calls her a lamprey in the dub as well. "Keep flapping those fangs lamprey, see where it gets you!"
In the game, Ainz Ooal Gown the guild reached the rank of top 9 in the game for success and power, but was also the guild with the largest number of world items ever collected with a total of 9. Shalltear is the strongest of the floor guardians with Peroroncino having perfectly minmaxed her for combat. This is why she is the guardian of all of the first 3 floors unlike the others who guard only 1 each. The design of her build for health steal means that increasing the number of combatants does not necessarily increase chances of victory, which is one of the reasons why Ainz decides to fight her alone. Finally, Ainz is at a statistical disadvantage in the fight against shalltear because his build is necromantic and instant death based, summons would heal her and instant death does not affect undead, except for the one skill he used which spawned a clock, the Goal of All Life is Death, a skill unique to Ainz even in the game which allows him to once every 80 hours to cause instant death spells to bypass all immunities and resistances.
Edit: Shalltear is the bloody valkyrie, as she possesses that class.
the reason ainz couldnt detect the owner of the item and that shaltear was left without orders is that shaltear killed her with her last attack before being controlled.

i think she still died from an infection or curse or something that they just couldnt heal, because shalltear is level 100 after all.

Her recovery rate was slowed due to Shalltear's Cursed Knight class that renders wounds hard to heal, and during a meeting of the highest authorities of the Slane Theocracy, it was mentioned that Lady Kaire had succumbed to her wounds and died. I think it was at some point in season 4.
Overlord spends a remarkable amount of time focusing on secondary characters, even if they only last for a few episodes. That's one of the things that make the story unique. It doesn't build the main characters as much from spending time with them, as it does by showing them from the eyes of so many others.
The eye that appeared behind Shaltear before Ainz's final attack was Aura's Ranger skill to distract her at the last minute.

The reason why the person who brainwash Shalltear abandoned her because right before she got fully brainwashed, Shalltear killed the person using a lance.
The goal of all life is death is a skill than buffs instant death magic to bypass resistances and immunities, and it kills everything, down to and including the sand and the air itself in range of the spell used in conjunction with the skill. For instance, the sandy area the fight finished in would be unlivable for any living creature that requires air to live, as breathing it in would poison them. This is actually different from the game, as it didn't effect maps in the game, so in certain aspects Ainz is more powerful in this New World than he was in YGGDRASIL
The New World Ainz was transported to actually has a few cool differences between our own that aren't ever included in the anime. For example, the oceans aren't salt water, the air resistance is near non-existent-meaning it's hard to know if there's a terminal velocity and Ainz hasn't tested it- and farmers can farm near all year due to magic being able to refresh the nutrients in soil instantly. The red headed adventurer is named Britta, and in the light novel it's explained that after Shalltear interrogated her, she was placed in with a bunch of kidnapped women the bandits had and was rescued later.
Shalltear is a hybrid class. Valkyrie is a divine magic caster class which specialized in fighting power. They're very effective against undead, and the class also grants access to the Einherjar, which are golem-like constructs that take on a bleached white imitiation of their summoner, they can't copy the skills or abilities of the summoner, or their magic gear, but they have gear that takes the appearance of their gear. They also have the same stats as their summoner. And of course being golems/constructs they have many of the same immunities and resistances as undead.
Yeah, the NPCs of Nazarick need someone to obey, because it's literally how they were created, to be loyal to the guild members. It's literally their greatest pleasure in life to serve. They know exactly who created them, exactly what their purpose is, and exactly what the leader of their creators want(or at least think they do)
When Pandora's Actor says the sentence, "Wenn es meines Gottes Wille ist," it means "If it is my God's will." Fairly easy to guess based on context and the words themselves.
Pandora's Actor's uniform resembles that of the Neo-Nazi Schutzstaffel. In the Overlord series, this uniform came to the fore during the Arcology War. Realistically, it seems that the war broke out in future Europe (around 2110s) in the World of 2138(Ainz's original world, just called that due to the year it took place) Pandora's Actor was created by Momonga himself during his chūnibyō-phase. The reason Momonga created Pandora's Actor was neither for the sake of battle nor for business. Instead, it was for the main purpose of preserving the identity of Ainz Ooal Gown, leaving behind the images of his guild members.
His backstory made note of how he happens to have a liking for managing magic items as his hobby. It was Momonga's original intent to design Pandora's Actor in such a way, so he would not find it strange to be alone in the Treasury, making him believe his position as Treasurer was a heavenly job. However, for some reason, his obsession for cataloging items seemed to have reached the level of a fetish.
Yeah, Earth in 2318 is not a good place to live. the destruction of the environment had continued at ever-increasing speed to the point where the surface of the Earth was hopelessly polluted; gorgeous nature existed only in video games. The sky was always hidden behind black smog, while the sun making only brief appearances every now and then. Thick, toxic fog frequently covered the cities, so almost no one went out without wearing a gas mask beforehand. With nature almost completely destroyed, it was highly implied by Ainz that people have no other choice but to also rely on artificial lungs solely created for their safety to help breath in the current, poor state of the environment. Since the plants that would have converted carbon dioxide to oxygen and absorbed nitrogen oxide had all withered due to a death of sun, the atmospheric pollution only worsened. As the number of plants decreased, the populations of birds and insects that ate their leaves and fruit dropped.
Of course, the pollution extended to the water as well as all the rivers which led to it changing into horrible colors and becoming murky. The pollution was so bad that water purification systems ceased to function, so even tap water had to be passed through a filter before it could be drunk.
Furthermore, during wet weather, Ainz noted the rain was considered to be acidic and foul-smelling in the era where he came from prior to getting transported in the New World. When Momonga's Party of Ainz Ooal Gown challenged the Asura during a dungeon raid in the Great Tomb of Nazarick, it made some party members vividly recalled how very bad the weather was in the World of 2138. They described such weather phenomena to be in the berserk form of a torrential acid rainstorm which filled every person’s vision upon catching sight of it happening before their eyes. The practice of traditional farming, which depended on rainwater and sunlight, declined, and all vegetables and grains were cultivated in domes. The price of food inevitably soared, and raw fruits and vegetables became luxury goods that ordinary people couldn't get their hands on.
Brain was actually a little mischaracterized here, in the light novel he doesn't act like it being women is something disgraceful. He knows there are powerful women in the world and has fought with one of blue rose's members as well. He just accepts that there only being two women means they're powerful.
Fallen Down: Upon casting the super-tier spell, Ainz calls upon a huge pillar of blue light from the sky that will burn so bright and hot that it will appear like the whole world has turned white. After a few seconds, it will leave behind an area burned to a cinder, devoid of life. This spell deals massive damage, especially to an undead-type enemy.

This entire battle was designed keeping in mind that Shalltearr had to be killed twice because her creator, Ainz's friend Peroronchino, had given her an Instant Resurrection Item, which luckily doesn't also restore mana. That is why we see her intact at the end of the chapter.
From the beginning Ainz had many disadvantages. To begin with, his game character was not designed for PVP matches but mainly for his own entertainment and ROL. In DOTA terms he would be a “Support” who can also play as a “Semi-Carry”. Instead, Shalltear is a pure “Carry” designed for combat against many players. The only one in charge of defending not one but 3 floors and the strongest of all the Guardians. Also, as a vampire, Shalltear is quite resistant to Ainz's necromancy, but she can also do holy magic that is quite effective against Liches. I clarify that in the Ygdrassil LORE that is based on Dungeons & Dragons there are good and bad gods. Shalltear gains her abilities as a priestess of a vampire god named Caniabel.
Then there is the problem that Ainz is a summoner and his best combos are with creatures he can use as a shield. But since Shalltear has that life-sucking spear, he can't risk using them because it would be like feeding her. Also, Yggdrasil's gameplay mechanics were designed in such a way that a player could never fully protect themselves from all of its weaknesses. Ainz is weak against fire and holy element, but can only protect against one.
As if that wasn't enough, Shalltear's creator gave her some "Skills" that precisely help her with her main weaknesses, such as the Negative Impact Shield or the Purifying Spear. These are not powers that she should naturaly have and they help her to overcome opponents who have some advantage over her. Fortunately, there is a limit to the number of these Skills that can be used per day. Much of Ainz's plan for this battle was designed to get Shalltear to spend them all before the end.
Finally, Ainz felt guilty about the current situation, so he decided to punish himself by changing his divine equipment to a lower quality one, which further increased his disadvantage. So, yes, this battle was very difficult and it is a great triumph that it has reached this point.
Of course, it's not that Ainz is weak either, it's just that his powers don't work well against Shalltiaer's. But still he is a pure mage who managed to win a lot of PVP at the time, although at first he always had to lose a few rounds until he learned the best method to win. Also, in Yggdrassil the limit of spells that could be learned was 300, but Ainz got a special class that allowed him to learn more than 700 spells. We saw a bit of this early on, in the buff number he put on before he started fighting.
Shalltear's Einherjar is a construct-type avatar almost visually identical to Shalltear. This Avatar cannot use magic and some of the abilities of the original, but his equipment and stats are the same.
Ainz's greatest achievement was executing his own trump card well. “The Goal of All Life is Death” is a Skill that he obtained by taking out all the trophies of his class, Liche Overlord. Any Undead like him have abilities that cause "Instant Death" on an enemy, but naturally there are many ways to defend against this magic, both with items and resistances. Someone like Shalltear naturally has immunity to these kinds of abilities, whether it be full or partial. But “The Goal of All Life is Death” allows you to overcome all those barriers, as long as the instant death effect occurs in exactly 12 seconds. This is a very difficult thing to achieve, but Ainz is one of the 13% of players who have perfectly mastered the art of synchronizing spells. So, the magic used against Shalltear is called “Cry of the Banshee” which kills everything that touches the sound within a large area of land. But the effect is enhanced by the ability "The Goal of All Life is Death" and that is why, according to the novel, literally everything died: The creatures, the Einherjar clone, Shalltear, the earth, the plants and even the air... Everything he died. And so in the end the battlefield turned into a desert.

As I mentioned in the previous comment, Ainz's entire battle was based on the strategy of killing Shalltear twice, because she had a resurrection item. Furthermore, he had to make her recklessly spend all those unique “Skills” that could have saved her if she had saved them until the end. Before the climax of the battle Ainz only has enough magic left to cast 3 or maybe 4 spells and so Shalltear thought that she had already won, but they quickly changed things to something to do with the Ygddrassil game.
When one created a character and then wanted to change it, he could only lose several battles and levels to rebuild the parts he wanted or directly create a new account. All of this was extremely tedious for level 100 players who had become mages and wanted to try out the warrior class for a while, but only for a short time. The "Perfect Warrior" spell was a solution to that problem. Allows you to convert all mage levels to the warrior class and use equipment that you would not normally be able to use. When Ainz wears it, he can use Touchme's armor without problems, although he cannot use any other magic in return.
For this battle Ainz used many Cash Items, more than ever in his entire life. Each of the sticks he broke allowed him to automatically store and equip his teammates' weapons. Especially the bow was what surprised Shalltear the most, because it is the favorite weapon of her creator.
At the end there is a strange phenomenon where Shalltear sees something like an eye on her back. To explain this I have to go back to the beginning of chapter 1, where they explain Aura Bella Fiora's abilities in the light novel. The dark elf's breath can cause various effects, most notably fear. Aura can use her breath at great distances to terrify others, especially creatures in order to tame them.
Naturally a vampire like Shalltear has resistance to these effects, but she probably doesn't have complete immunity. Therefore, instead of fear, what she feels is that there is "something dangerous" behind her and thus she is distracted long enough for Ainz to finish breaking his last Cash Item. We see a very small fragment in which Aura is exhaling a kind of purple wind, which is precisely her Fear ability, the same one that we saw Aura use against Hamsuke to provoke him in chapter 7.
Resurrection magic is performed using spells or wands. In players, the penalty for reviving was losing some levels. But the NPCs are not players and can be resurrected with money, lots and lots of money. Good thing Ainz decided to save it!

A fun fact to go along with the other fun facts: Touch Me was one of the strongest players in Yggdrasil, even Ainz couldn't defeat him in PvP even once. Ainz even back in Yggdrasil was a very strategic player, and would often challenge people to multiple rounds of PvP in order to learn how they play and would crush them in a later round. Also his build was made for roleplaying, however his strategies and battle IQ are extremely high. One last thing, the eye behind Shalltear was a taunt from Aura because Ainz hesitated to use the speedup item to kill Shalltear.

If he started by going warrior he wouldn't be able to go toe to toe with her, because he wouldn't have magic and she would. If he started with he goal of all things os death, he would kill her, but she would resurrect having mp and her clone, and it would be 2 on 1. He carefully used his cards on the right time to carve through her resources until he would have the upper hand in melee combat

Hello friend, thank you for reacting to this Anime so loved by many. As always I will explain some things that may not have been clear based on the Light Novel material and extra content, always trying not to give any spoilers.
First of all, I want to remind you that Overlord is not a typical "good guys" versus "bad guys" anime, but rather an Adams Family type of story, where there is a set world of rules and where the events should have unfolded in a certain direction, but then out of nowhere falls a group of dysfunctional deities that turn everything upside down.
At first they show us Sebastian and the Battle Maid Solution who are traveling to carry out an infiltration mission, but on the way to their destination they are taking the opportunity to lend a hand to Shalltear who has received instructions from Ainz to capture any powerful person among the bandits of the area, because its disappearance would not attract attention.
In Nazarick there are no humans (except one) so all its members are monsters or heteromorphs. Such is the case of the Pleiades Solution, the blonde woman who is actually a type of protozoan-like monster called Slime, which fights by absorbing her enemies. It is said that her body is empty inside and she can choose to protect or dissolve the things she has absorbed. She can also control the speed of digestion. The fate of the unlucky bandit named Zach will be to spend many days being tortured by the acids of this monster until finally he is digested.
During the conversation in the carriage we see again that the NPCs see the players who created them as gods and so funny misunderstandings occur. Shalltear believes that the creator of Aura is a kind of mystical being who imbues inanimate objects with souls to create life. But she is actually a Seiyu or voice actress, who plays the role of characters in Anime and Erotic games. She "brings the characters to life."
In the novel and Compilation Movie of the first season, there is an omitted fragment of conversation between the butler and Shalltear. Sebastian is worried about the “Blood Frenzy”, Shalltear's passive ability that makes her violent and irrational when she absorbs too much blood and could cause her to fail the mission. Shalltear responds to this in a violent and arrogant way, showing us how overconfident she is. She even seems willing to fight Sebastian to the death if he doesn't back down on her. But in the end, the butler's fears were true, because we see how Shalltear loses control when she transforms and ends up killing all the bandits that she originally came to capture.
In this episode, two disastrous coincidences happen to Shalltear. The first is that a group of adventurers just came to find the bandits she is hunting and when they see Shalltear, the leader starts shouting instructions emphasizing the words “she is a vampire”. This is because, for security reasons, they had left a "Ranger" hidden among the trees of the forest with the mission of escaping and reporting everything that happened to the Adventurers' Guild, but Shalltear does not realize this until it is very late because she is dominated by her "Blood Frenzy".
As Shalltear comes to her senses and runs to capture the Ranger, the next disastrous coincidence occurs: She runs into an elite group who happened to be there by chance. Shalltear doesn't know who they are, but she notices that one of them has as much strength as the Pleiades Solution, which is quite impressive for someone from the New World, because all the Battle Maids are around level 70. She tries to kill them, but it doesn't work out. Nothing good.
One of the strangers manages to perform mind control magic on Shalltear even though this should be impossible, as all Undead have a natural immunity to mind control. However, it happened. But luckily, we see that Shalltear managed to kill the person who controlled her just before her spell took effect. That's why she stood still, waiting for orders that would never come.

I'm not sure if you know, but theres some mini series called the Ple Ple Pleidas that add some fun little encounters and scenarios as well as showing off a bit more of the cast. Might be worth a watch.
Solution Epsilon a member of the battle maids the assassin of the group who is a predator slime. She thinks humans are food for her to consume with pleasure. Her entire body is acidic and malleable her skills are in Espionage stealth and quick kills

Speaking of favourite characters though, I managed to decide who my favourite was in season 3 but it took me until 4 to fill the second and third spots.. and I feel like I'm doing something horrible by picking favourites.
I think OP songs now have some English is due to the fact that Anime has become more and more popular in the west and how more and more Dubbed anime is growing so I think these song writers want to add English notes to sort of show they care for the English side of Anime.

That is prefectly understandable with Demiurge and Sebas, trust me, Cocytus too in a way, but not yet (you start to appreciate him later). Sebas and Demiurge are almost life inspirations (in very different ways) if I'm being honest, Sebas is the type of man I wish I could be, and Demiurge has the logical thinking and work ethic I aspire. Ainz is also an extremely compelling character that competes strongly for best of the series, though that discussion is hard because so many characters are similarly great.
Though I will say, while Albedo and Shalltear also don't really catch me (Despite Shalltear being the kind of character I usually love, specially later on in the story when she starts to have more development), many of the female characters are increadible, even if I don't see any of them as really good waifu material for me. In fact, Aura and Shalltear are my favorite Guardians (followed by Demiurge) and there is one character introduced much later on that is so amazing the fandom unanimously labeled her Best Girl, to such an extent that I have never seen a single word of objection to it.

The time characters take to always call out the name of their skills and spells is something I at the same time like and dislike about Overlord. On one hand, it somewhat breaks the flow of action scenes, but on the other it really shows how every fight is like a DND fight or a chess match with carefully planed out moves and strategies instead of simple quick action.
Also, Ainz's massive buff routine before the fight is absolutely perfect, it's at the same time huge meme material and embodies parfectly what a video game fight is in so many games, specially an MMO like Yggdrasil. If you have all the time you want, obviously you're going to spend a full minute or two buffing with the dozens and dozens of spells you've learned in your thousand hours of playtime, I can relate a lot to that because I've done the exact same thing so many times.
It's also worth noting that in most games buffs make a HUGE difference, and almost every MMO has an extremely high enphasis in equipment choice at the endgame. Ainz fully buffed with all his gear specifically chosen to counter Shalltear's build was still having a hard time against her completely buffed with default equipment. Serves to show that she is a LOT stronger than him in combat.

When Aniz presented the magic Crystal with a 7-teir magic to the other group leaders the magic user leader asked to verify the 7-tier magic inside the crystal which Aniz allowed him to do after that the guy went to verify the magic using all appraisal magic item and proceeded to lose his mind and started licking it hugging it (and the way the light novel described it I swear sounds like the dude straight up got hard ) and beg Aniz to not use the magic thinking it will be a waste to use a 7-tier magic spell (although he couldn't confirm what kind of spell it was)

Overlord is a series more remarkable for being consistently very good, and not so much for having great moments, which is why it might've not impressed you that much. Everything in it is really good, but there aren't many huge moments that leave a big impression, and that's what usually ends up being more memorable most of the time.
The consistency does make the story become more and more interesting very steadly though as you are shown more about the characters and the world, so most of the time the more recent a chapter of the story is, the better it'll be, because it's always building higher and higher on top of itself. For example, this season adapter volumes 1 to 3 of the LN, which are considered by most to be not as good as the arc covering 5 and 6, that is in turn not as good as the next big arc in volume 10, with volumes 12, 13 and 14 being almost unanimously better than everything before them. (I haven't read 15 yet though, so can't say about that).
just curious, have you watch all the chibis animation featuring the maid. It's a great content if you want to know more about the maid like which race they belong to and such.

shalltear is not the strongest in nazarick, there is Rubedo who is the strongest and can defeat nazarick alone even the supreme fin the 8th floor is full of strong NPCs

I like your reactions, but it's still sad that you decided to react to the dubbed version. The english dub is pretty decent, but the original japanese voice acting is superior. Stuff gets lost in translation or doesn't quite have the same feel as in the original, like how Mare is much more of a trap in the original version since his gender is more subtly handled, or the way Ains is embarrassed about Pandora's Actor ("Don't look at my dark past with such cold eyes >.
