My thinking is that since holograms are light based and angels are beings of pure light, yeah, he could probably use his hologram form to interact with the other party at will.
Valentino's body language is so good. When he's talking to Charlie he consistently tries to remain roughly at eye level with her, where as with Angel there's rarely a shot where he isn't looking over him or putting himself in SOME position of power over him.
I think that actually goes two ways. I took it as him treating Charlie like a child and basically mocking "the little princess of hell ~ ". That however makes the scene where he licks her with his poisonous/addiction slime even more gross ._.

When she almost snaps, that could have been bad news for Valentino. That would not really have worked, since Val could use the fact he owns Angel's soul to threaten her. Val could hurt Charlie emotionally, using that she's a bleeding heart against her. But physically? Angel sees Val as powerful and Charlie as weak, but that's his distorted vision.

I think part of Angel dusts anger towards Sir.Pensius is that he was working for the V’s, which means that this hotel- his safe place- was being invaded by the very person he was trying to escape. Plus the whole role playing thing really must have felt like they were mocking and insulting him. He was the evil drug dealer, and the snake was the innocent child who got all the praise.
That skit was uncomfortable, but I'm interested to see if that would help to put more highlight into one of Charlie's weaknesses; being kinda out of touch

Yeah, while also being physical manifestations of the three biggest sections of modern media and entertainment. Representing social media, television, and porn respectively. But yes, Vox and Vel definitely are the heavy lifters.

That being said, it leads to him taking out Charlie's missteps and faults on Angel Dust. It is a horrible yet realistic portrayal of power imbalance in a master-slave relationship.

I've seen people saying "How can they show Adam in such a negative light?!!" And I need to say Adam was actually a pretty shitty person. After he ate the apple instead of apologizing to God for breaking one single simple rule he was all "Well, Eve gave me this apple, and YOU gave me Eve so it's all YOUR fault!" and that's why he and his wife were banished. So yeah, Adam's a jerk.
i disagree he was probably was alraght in life even if a bit of a dick because serves as antithesis to the hotel objective, the whole theme of the show revolves around hazbins characters bein see by ther pasts rather their changes and current lifes. he deservering fall more than any sinner deserving redemption but not happening acts as "proof" that charlie objective is impossible

One thing that may have made Angel feel worse in ep 2. Is the "no sexual intercourse before marriage." He's a sex worker. A gay one at that. Who may never get married. And he definitely didn't get to when he was alive and in the mafia. That line was basically a direct jab at everything Angel is
Ironically for most of his development he actually did have a daughter, who wasn't taken out until really late in the game. Angel died in '47 in his 30s, its not out of the question that he did end up having to marry for show. Your actually underselling what a bleak fucking time it was. The reason they rioted at Stonewall wasn't just cause they were going to jail, it was because the cops were going to give all their names to the papers to publish, they'd lose everything: friends, family, jobs, homes, professional licenses (doctor, lawyer, hair dresser, etc.) The Mafia ran those bars & would 110% kick gay members out (only stopping in 2019). For context, the reason Charlie had that lightbulb moment when she learned Adam's name was because of who her parents are. Her father is Lucifer, who she was subbing in for, but her mother is Adam's first wife Lilith. In short, Lucifer asked his daughter to meet with his wife's ex husband so he wouldn't have to. Which considering Lucifer ALSO claims to have had a relationship with Eve as well was probably a good idea.

So the thing about Alastor and deer is that he was a cannibalistic serial killer in life and was accidentally killed by a deer hunter. So his demon form is a deer. And believe it or not in real life deer are not only opportunistic omnivores (they don't actively hunt but will eat any meat they can easily get) but *Red* Deer are also cannibalistic.
Vox is my favorite villian honestly. His design and the way he acts is perfect (also love the little heart the static makes when he lights Val's cigarette).
So I noticed recently Vaggie has a minor slip of the tongue in episode 3 when they are on the roof. As she is talking to Charlie she refers to the people of hell as “your” people, not “our”. Almost like Vaggie doesn’t see herself as a sinner. If Charlie had paid better attention to things Vaggie said and how she acted, she might have realized the truth before Adam try’s to ruin their relationship. I mean is isn’t rocket science. Lol
She also says to Alastor in ep one that she isn't stupid enough to take a deal from a demon like Alastor... alaso as if she wasn't a demon herself ie a sinner.
The VVVs draw their power from different sides of the internet. Vox is tv, Velvette is social media, and Valentino is porn. The same way Alastor is radio, in a way.
I really appreciate how you showed the songs in all of thier glory. Several TH-camrs either mute or alter or skip the songs completely due to TH-cam being a "CU Next Tuesday". However, messing with the songs really takes away from the episode reactions in a big way, and saps so much of the enjoyment out of sharing the moments with the reactors. 1:25:57 it's theorized Alastor started off as a cannibal, as his sinner form is resemblant of a wendigo. When he exudes more power at his will, the more wendigo his features appear, such as putting Vox in his place when Vox tried to bully Alastor into submission. P.S. That ain't vennison, that is straight up an expired deer corpse. There's a stark difference between funky fresh, and literally falling apart rotting.
The episode with Angel is amazing. It shows how horrible the situation he's in. How he feels like its his own fault for the abuse he goes through. He hides his pain and torment behind a sexualized facade, pretending it doesn't bother him. A lot of ppl expect SA victims to avoid sex and physical contact, but that's not always the case. Some instead use a sexual persona to convince others and themselves that they are ok. So props to them showing a side of SA Abuse that often gets ignored or demonized. Also...that last line of the song Poison...the voice actor just NAILED that pain and misery in his voice at that moment.
I just wanna put this out there because I don’t see many other people talking about this. I think Vox might be jealous of Angel. At first, I assumed Vox didn’t really think about Angel at all except for when Val brings him up, but there are certain signs that point to him being jealous towards Angel. In episode 2, Vox is never shown to be interested in discussing Angel himself except for when he needed to reign Val in. Also, when he said “Oh Angel quit?” he was smiling and that was the only time he smiled during most of that conversation. In episode 4, during the Poison portion of the episode (specifically the last part where Angel looks down from a balcony and sees Val & Vox), Vox went from what appeared to be genuinely happy to a look that basically read as “What are you looking at?” Then immediately after his mood was soured, he teleported away. This could either be obvious and I’m wasting my time talking about this or just wild theorizing on my part. But I just wanted to discuss it since not many people are bringing up this theory/possibility.

to be fair, the moment you start to include the Lilith stuff the biblical Adam starts to look rather sexist already. even without that he blames Eve for his own bad actions and from there blames God for making Eve taking no blame for himself. by modern standards even the biblical Adam is just... really not a good person at all, I don't think he's even supposed to be. all the series did was take the negative traits already present and turn it up to 11 making him come off as a self-obsessed mysoginist who genuinely doesn't believe that he's ever done anything wrong.
It feels like forever ago I saw you react to the pilot lol. I liked this first season, but the biggest problem was definitely the pacing because it feels like they crammed 20 episodes worth of stuff into 8 because of constraints. Hopefully season 2 fixes this by having more time to pace out whatever story they want to tell but I am interested to see more.

This is random but Carmilla's earings are driving me crazy. They are inconsistent in every shot. Sometimes it looks like they are hanging from her hair, sometimes the hair isn't in the loop of the earring at all and during her song in the mirror scene the hair went through the earrings in the reflection but not through the ones of the "real" Carmilla
Everyone hates Valentino but be honest. If you hate him, you hate him bc of his personality or bc he's not a good (well written) character. Because I think Val is a Horrible monster but as a character he's awesome. Good VA ✅️ Cool looks✅️ Sick powers✅️ (that smoke chain around Angel's neck looks cool) Interesting ties to a character so he can be a good villain✅️ He's a monster but come on, as an antagonist in an animated series, he's great (near perfect in my opinion)
@@sandywolfr26 which is exactly why so many people actively hate him so much. His kind of abuse hits home way too close for a lot of people which makes him a lot more real than someone like Alastor. He is a serial killer, a sadist and a cannibal, which objectively should make him just as bad as Val albeit in a different way, but the vast majority of us will luckily never meet one of those (or if we do we hopefully never get to know that we just met one of them), so it's easier to dismiss Alastor's brand of evil compared to Valentino's. There is also the fact that Val's abuse of Angel isn't played for laughs while for the most part Alastor's behavior IS portrayed as being funny. Although I have a feeling that might change in the upcoming seasons.

One thing that may have made Angel feel worse in ep 2. Is the "no sexual intercourse before marriage." He's a sex worker. A gay one at that. Who may never get married. And he definitely didn't get to when he was alive and in the mafia. That line was basically a direct jab at everything Angel is

Ironically for most of his development he actually did have a daughter, who wasn't taken out until really late in the game. Angel died in '47 in his 30s, its not out of the question that he did end up having to marry for show. Your actually underselling what a bleak fucking time it was. Alastor's part in "Stayed Gone" gave me chills in the best way.
For context, the reason Charlie had that lightbulb moment when she learned Adam's name was because of who her parents are. Her father is Lucifer, who she was subbing in for, but her mother is Adam's first wife Lilith. In short, Lucifer asked his daughter to meet with his wife's ex husband so he wouldn't have to. Which considering Lucifer ALSO claims to have had a relationship with Eve as well was probably a good idea.

So the thing about Alastor and deer is that he was a cannibalistic serial killer in life and was accidentally killed by a deer hunter. So his demon form is a deer. And believe it or not in real life deer are not only opportunistic omnivores (they don't actively hunt but will eat any meat they can easily get) but *Red* Deer are also cannibalistic.
Vox is my favorite villian honestly. His design and the way he acts is perfect (also love the little heart the static makes when he lights Val's cigarette).

So I noticed recently Vaggie has a minor slip of the tongue in episode 3 when they are on the roof. As she is talking to Charlie she refers to the people of hell as “your” people, not “our”. Almost like Vaggie doesn’t see herself as a sinner. If Charlie had paid better attention to things Vaggie said and how she acted, she might have realized the truth before Adam try’s to ruin their relationship. I mean is isn’t rocket science. Lol
She also says to Alastor in ep one that she isn't stupid enough to take a deal from a demon like Alastor... alaso as if she wasn't a demon herself ie a sinner.
When Angel was distressed, his voice changed into his real voice. Anthony's voice.

However, messing with the songs really takes away from the episode reactions in a big way, and saps so much of the enjoyment out of sharing the moments with the reactors. When he exudes more power at his will, the more wendigo his features appear, such as putting Vox in his place when Vox tried to bully Alastor into submission. P.S. That ain't vennison, that is straight up an expired deer corpse. There's a stark difference between funky fresh, and literally falling apart rotting.
Adam is one of my favorite hellaverse villains along side with vox, striker, crimson and mammon.
The episode with Angel is amazing. It shows how horrible the situation he's in. How he feels like its his own fault for the abuse he goes through. He hides his pain and torment behind a sexualized facade, pretending it doesn't bother him. A lot of ppl expect SA victims to avoid sex and physical contact, but that's not always the case. Some instead use a sexual persona to convince others and themselves that they are ok. So props to them showing a side of SA Abuse that often gets ignored or demonized.
Also...that last line of the song Poison...the voice actor just NAILED that pain and misery in his voice at that moment.

I just wanna put this out there because I don’t see many other people talking about this. I think Vox might be jealous of Angel. At first, I assumed Vox didn’t really think about Angel at all except for when Val brings him up, but there are certain signs that point to him being jealous towards Angel.
In episode 2, Vox is never shown to be interested in discussing Angel himself except for when he needed to reign Val in. Also, when he said “Oh Angel quit?” he was smiling and that was the only time he smiled during most of that conversation.
In episode 4, during the Poison portion of the episode (specifically the last part where Angel looks down from a balcony and sees Val & Vox), Vox went from what appeared to be genuinely happy to a look that basically read as “What are you looking at?” Then immediately after his mood was soured, he teleported away.
This could either be obvious and I’m wasting my time talking about this or just wild theorizing on my part. But I just wanted to discuss it since not many people are bringing up this theory/possibility.

It feels like forever ago I saw you react to the pilot lol. I liked this first season, but the biggest problem was definitely the pacing because it feels like they crammed 20 episodes worth of stuff into 8 because of constraints. Hopefully season 2 fixes this by having more time to pace out whatever story they want to tell but I am interested to see more.

This is random but Carmilla's earings are driving me crazy. They are inconsistent in every shot. Sometimes it looks like they are hanging from her hair, sometimes the hair isn't in the loop of the earring at all and during her song in the mirror scene the hair went through the earrings in the reflection but not through the ones of the "real" Carmilla
Everyone hates Valentino but be honest. If you hate him, you hate him bc of his personality or bc he's not a good (well written) character.

@@sandywolfr26 which is exactly why so many people actively hate him so much. His kind of abuse hits home way too close for a lot of people which makes him a lot more real than someone like Alastor. He is a serial killer, a sadist and a cannibal, which objectively should make him just as bad as Val albeit in a different way, but the vast majority of us will luckily never meet one of those (or if we do we hopefully never get to know that we just met one of them), so it's easier to dismiss Alastor's brand of evil compared to Valentino's.
There is also the fact that Val's abuse of Angel isn't played for laughs while for the most part Alastor's behavior IS portrayed as being funny. Although I have a feeling that might change in the upcoming seasons.
