Game changer😳. Good decision on the hydraulic dove tail, you would have regretted ramps...been there done that. Pick up a infrared temp gun and check your axel temp every time you stop after a run, empty or loaded. It gives you a great baseline and will give you an early detection that a brake is sticking or a bearing may be on its way out especially being used with no service history. I own a PJ and it’s served me well. Child support will serve a lot of different needs and will save wear and tear on your other rides. You can also go with a more aggressive tire on the step child and not worry about wear, ride or noise. Well done guys and thanks for sharing👍👍👍🇺🇸

We haven’t driven it personally, if it had come out with the 3.6 and 2T, we would have gotten the diesel. The only question is just how reliable it will be offroad!

Just be careful to not over complicate your life with stuff; it’s the trap that we’ve all fallen into. It can be really hard to return to the simple life. This definitely adds a little more complication (in terms of licensing and making sure we’re doing everything legally), but the perks of having both vehicles & traveling together I think make it worth it. We shall see!! 😊😊

You need to check out FourWheelCampers for the truck bed. Many people live out of their truck camper. It’s a pop-up model, lite-weight, low drag when closed. Think it would be a perfect fit for you.

Just from experience. If you want to help smooth out that ride when not towing should go to a good set of D or E rated AT tires plus will help to give the truck good traction in all weather
Awesome! Since you guys are just getting into the diesel world and will be pulling a long trailer you will find you need to use Truck Stops and the truck lanes to fuel up. Credit cards are a PITA to use there. You need to get a TDS/EFS fuel card for convenience. IT WILL ALSO SAVE YOU up to 50 cents per gallon off listed price. PM me for details, this is no joke guys.

No, you do not need a tow rig. Would be a waste of money to you. How many miles do you have on your rig that you are even worried? Drive your rig until it explodes like you say. By then you may be tired of wheeling. Or you can always buy another JL with the money you were planning to waste on a tow rig.

100% agreed. I have even rescued my side by side before with my tow rig. Snapped the driveshaft on my old Arctic Cat and dropped my trailer and yanked it off the trail with my lifted F350.
You are planning on towing 11k in cars on 6k trailer around the country on SRW? Also, the MegaCab has a small 31-gallon fuel tank. Full 8' bed versions have a 49-gallon tank, ditto for Ford. The RV and towing community have tonnes of videos online...and invariably those who tow go to dual rear wheels (DRW) for stability. Did you get the air suspension? The inputs for external cameras? You may ultimately want a camera on the back of the trailer if it has two tall vehicles on it. The Ford and GM mirrors extend (rotate in the Ram) with a power control from the cab. However, the only the Ram (2500/3500, not 1500) have a power control for the wide-angle mirror. The others make you go out and move them with your fingers. Also, many like the way the Ram folds; the Ford and GM have the moose ears all of the time. Oh, and yeah, for your bumpy ride, put some weight on the rear and it'll be smooth in that 3500.
Living quarters with room for a vehicle would be super rad. Especially if it was a custom micro house type build. I love my Ram 3500 SRW Limited, and remember you can soften the ride and add airbags to bring the towing back up when needed.

Yeah memory foam is questionable. It's hot A/F in the summer and rock hard in the winter.. Totally agree. ...a thin memory foam topper on something soft works out really well though.

PLUS!!!! When you wheel Step-Child, you will be about 500 lbs lighter leaving your "living stuff" back in the home camp. Wheeling with your kitchen sink in the back of your jeep isn't the best situation. Good investment. ACTUALLY, a very mature ADULT decision.

Just a recommendation to Kevin...I camp overnight at work in my JKU with memory foam and in winter in new york it's like sleeping on concrete when the temperature is near or below freezing. Yeah memory foam is questionable. It's hot A/F in the summer and rock hard in the winter.. Totally agree. ...a thin memory foam topper on something soft works out really well though.

Best truck out there. Awesome purchase. I often drive my dads friends ram 2500 and I freaking love that truck. 3500 and megacab is icing on the cake.
My goal posts are always up. Never know when a ghost trailer is going to sneak up on you.

PLUS!!!! When you wheel Step-Child, you will be about 500 lbs lighter leaving your "living stuff" back in the home camp. Wheeling with your kitchen sink in the back of your jeep isn't the best situation. Good investment. ACTUALLY, a very mature ADULT decision.
