Thanks so much for reviewing my work, and for the Patreon shoutout, I really appreciate it! The offset print version will be out within the next two weeks via LF OSR, and later this year I'll make the PoD version available at DTRPG as well. Unfortunately the version you got has a couple of errors (fixed on the PDF and upcoming physical releases, of course), but nothing terrible. Again, thank you so much, this was so cool to watch!
Hahaha damnit, should’ve waited one more day to record this so I could include the news about the offset print version! I’ll make a channel post and quick follow up once it’s available to order. This game really resonated perfectly with my preferences and I hope it gets some more attention. I’m still weighing options in how to tackle actual plays going forward but I really need to do something with this!
@@killtenratsrpg really appreciate all your support! I think that once people get their physical copies the game will start popping around more. As a member of my Patreon you'll receive the upcoming expansion before anyone else, so maybe you could wait until you have the solo rules and other new options before considering doing something, after all, this is a solo RPG channel, haha.
Sounds like a plan! Would be cool to show off the solo rules and the game in actual play form once they're in place (and some other expansion content). I'll hold off 'till then, makes sense!
@@killtenratsrpg sounds amazing, I'd love to watch that! I've been testing it solo and it's pretty fun! Had to do lots of running though, even as a level three, the hordes that spawn are brutal. I essentially copied the AD&D 2e stats for many of the monsters and the numbers spawning are really high, so you gotta do a lot of avoiding combat, or maybe travel with a retinue of commoners, haha.
Hi ! Very nice review, I discovered you recently and I’ve been binge-watching your content lately ! I’m gonna try Sacrifice for my next solo campaign ; thx a lot for the discovery ; take care
Thank you! Hope you’re having a good time with Sacrifice, there are now official solo rules available in the Companion and some additional rules and setting components in Chronicles V1, both highly recommended and very affordable too!
@@killtenratsrpg Yeah ! Saw that and bought the whole package, it’s nice and convenient to have the oracle table and the action and theme tables all in one place ! Blackoath did some nice work ! As a Berserk and FromSoft games fan I think this one is gonna be a blast ! I’ll let you know how it went !
@@bastienbattistini3613 Awesome! Yeah the Berserk-Souls-DNA is very strong and it’s one of my favorites, too. I’ve got a new series on the way launching January 1st that’s a pretty clear cut tribute to Demon‘s Souls so maybe that’s something you’d enjoy. And yeah, definitely post back how it went with Sacrifice! The creator of the game is quite active on this channel and in the comment section so I’m sure he’d be stoked to hear what you’ve gotten yourself into with his game, too!
I was talking with a frined about Berserk when the spy alrotihm sent me to your video, great review I will definetly give it a chance to buy the digital edition of the game as really looks like a dark grim fantasy TTRPG that didnt have. Also Loved your channel name it remainds me to the very first mission of Baldurs Gate Dark Alligance .
Awesome, happy to hear this video helped get some eyes on an excellent game! And indeed, it's an old RPG trope and I yoinked a while back when kicking off my other, older "Let's Play" channel. My most poignant rat killing memory is still the old Amiga game "Amberstar" though. That was a classic rat slaying expedition and a half! Sorry bout the horribly late response, really appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment. A new puppy hit the house and wrecked my schedule. All good now!
Hey! OddFish Games are running a Kickstarter for “The Radiance Adventure Engine,” a deck to generate solo RPG adventures. I’m not affiliated in any way, and I don’t think I’ll be backing it, but I figured I’d share since it seems well made and it’s nice to see solo-first products.
Hey, thanks! Sorry, it seems your comment got a little buried. I'm generally a bit less enthusiastic about cards, story dice and such and there's usually about half a dozen on KS in a month but hopefully they reached their funding goal, it's always good to have more options out there even if they're not directly a 100% match for my play style!
You do at the highest tier, yes. In any case, physical copies are coming via LF OSR, and the PoD version will be available via DTRPG in about a month as well.
It’s OGL. As per the latest Patreon update on the 16th this is the status but the situs is still a bit too unpredictable for a definite outlook: “Speaking of Sacrifice, I still have no clue what I'll have to do with it. Best case scenario I can keep selling it but can't make any new material for it. If that's the case I'll release a new, OGL-free version as soon as I can, because I really want to keep making stuff for it. The same goes for Path of the Aram Thyr (which by the way, keeps getting updated.)”
@@killtenratsrpg Even if WotC could de-authorize OGL 1.0a, Black Oath could make new material for Sacrifice, as long as the new material doesn't use quotations from the SRD.
In my opinion, certainly - but that’s the opinion of a lunatic who spends too much on books. The LF OSR version is very nice, it’s the content dressed up in a lovely collectible format so I’m digging it. If the presentation isn’t as much of a factor as the excellent content the POD version on DTRPG is like 18 bucks, so there’s definitely a viable alternative if fancy books don’t hold much interest for the prospective buyer. But yeah, I love my LF OSR version and bought it even though I already owned the POD version from DriveThru.
