Can't wait to try this. Ever since my dog received his Rabies shot, he developed allergies and scratches himself raw. We changed his diet to limited ingredients, went to a derm vet, tried Aquophil and now Cytopoint injections every 6 weeks. We are spending a fortune and even the vet said chasing an allergy at 12 years of age is not advised. We are all pretty miserable.
Omg Big huge THANK YOU! I tried so many things for my itchy little rescue. Yesterday I went out and bought the selsun blue, used once and I kid you not for the first time since rescuing this cutie pie he is sleeping peacefully without scratching . You have been an amazing help again thank you for doing this video!!!! Note - my pup is a yorkie maltese mix
Same . His videos have been so helpful in treating my dog family member and I tell so many people about him here in Cornwall, UK and folk over the internet on animal TH-cam channels 🤗 he is the ONLY person I trust to advise me . We do not visit the vets as they only dole out pharmaceutical chemical based drugs that have also been tested on other poor vulnerable animals that are often killed after years of this kind of torture and they charge through the nose for these dangerous drugs or offer operations. To me personally it’s a no brainier . I take care of us the best I can . Coming from the premise of prevention rather than patching things up with a vet when it’s too late . My friend is just never unwell because I do so much research and get us the best food and natural remedies and supplements and exercises out in the open 🤗🐶♥️
Vetinary secrets..... Thank you you so so much, you have restored normality toour home, no more stinky dog, my dog had a yeast infection, now has Flax seed oil daily, and a lavender bath, thank you so much for your appreciated help. 💚
For my stinky girl who hates baths I get warm water with a few tablespoons of baking soda. I use a small brush and dip it in the water and scrub the solution into her fur gently. This way she gets a "bath" without being in the water. The baking soda keeps her smelling better and her coat shiny.
You are our hero! Our Shepard/Husky mix was stinking up the whole house! Selsun Blue one time leaving it on for 5-10 min then rinsing...solved! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!
I tried it twice on my Shepherd. It dried her so so so bad. She has dandruff or fungal dandruff. I'm about to try this shampoo. She has bald spots and is terrible. Smells like Fritos.
Why has no 1 made a summary list? Ok-selsun blue, apple cider vinegar & water, lavender and/or mint oil all topical options or flax oil in food, licorice herb in food acts as anti inflammatory-short term only. Video goes into detail with dosage but it's longer than necessary in my opinion.
I want to thank you! I watched your video today and with the apple cider vinegar I wiped my dog down with it on the affected area's gave it 5 minutes and wiped her with a warm washcloth put a teaspoon in her water. Went out to dinner came home to walk her and she looked 90 percent better in a matter of hours. We have been dealing with skin condition for the last with a Veterinarian with no resolution.
Love the essential oils - lavender is so soothing to the skin, and is also calming. Basil & Thyme are antibacterial, and Oregano is anti-fungal.. Oregano is a "hot oil" and needs to be highly diluted with a carrier oil like olive oil...
THANK YOU!!! I just spent a FORTUNE at my vet to have her skin scraped to tell me it WASNT MANGE!!! U just saved me another chunk of cash...ur a God Send!🤗
Hi Andrew, great video. I found that the dogs diet can be a contributing factor. I've switched my dogs to a all natural raw diet. It literally cleared up my one dogs ongoing skin and smell problems in a matter of a week. I'm constantly praised by my vet and dog trainer and owner community at the condition of my dogs coat, skin and overall general appearance. I wouldn't recommend for everyone to start feeding their dogs ground beef or chicken, there's much more to it than that. Research must be done to make your own, or purchase commercially available raw dog food.
You and your family are simply WONDERFUL 🤗🙏 you have helped me and my little friend over the years stay on top of things and we value you all so much and appreciate the love . May you always be Divinely guided and protected dearest friend 💛🐾🌻
🙌🙌 yasss I'm currently going through this with my Golden. I started today with the selsum blue bath and apple cider vinegar spray. I was a little skeptical but the smell went away instantly. she smells so much better with just one bath today. I will do another one next week.
Thank you so much. I subscribed because of how informative and how clearly you love animals for posting these instructional tutorials. Thank you so much. Btw my dog responded to yeast treatment where i dipped her paws into apple cidar water bucket and after shampooing rinsed her with the apple cidar water mixture. She did not smell for two months. Thank you.
My dog, she has dandruff now, have no idea why it just started soo I used Dawn dish soap and I noticed that it has helped some but it takes a while! I will definitely try this for a smell good home. ACV did help with her ears, after 5 min she is now sleeping fine. Thank you!
So Sorry to here about Louis passing...so sad😔😔 pearl must miss him😔😔 Thank you for all your great info..I have a dog Toby...he gets ear recurring ear infections...and Oder on his skin...when I rescued Toby at 13 weeks old he had severe demedetic mange was on ivermectin for almost 10 months...He is now 3 years old and doing great except for his ears and his smell and always licking his paws. Toby is my world and don't know what I would do without him....again so sorry about Louis😔 Thank you for all your help with Toby!!! He says thank you too!!! 🤗🤗🤗🤗
That's why you keep dogs outside and make them their own house.. I don't know who thought it was great idea to keep dogs inside they are definitely not clean animals for home. And they also prefer to be outside and run free in yard, at least my dogs do
Watch amount of lavender oil. Can be toxic on animals. See vet video that are essential oil users . Dogs sense of smell is 50 times that of human. 1 drop of lavender essential oil in 8 Oz of water is max dose for a cat. So be careful, please.
I gave my dog a bath not long ago and noticed she has a really bad odor lately. I’m going to try the apple cider vinegar in her water and other ones thank you very much!
Dr. Jones, I am really enjoying your videos. I would like to add, I have recently learned much about Moringa. I have suffered from Prurigo Nodularus for 26 years and my 11 year old Wiemeraner, Lizzie, has sensitive skin and bladder issues. We started taking this superfood June 7th and I am so happy to report our wonderful relief of our symptoms and generally feeling better. 🌿🌿
I've got THE STINKIEST OLD DOG! So much so, I almost bought that Mane shampoo today! glad I caught your video first! (let's just hope this works for her!)
Yes,. Gail IS correct. Wounds, & rashes. Section below in red (don't know how "red" but is..skip down "to the pt. & how I use(d) Colloidal Silver, mysterious rash, among other prob, dogs & cats) My rescue came w/ some "mysterious skin condition", covered his stomach; 3 diff. vet's couldn't figure out, what it was, .. or help, (several meds attempted). ...1 nite "new dog" lay next to me, on half the sofa, (idea how big he is) legs sprawled open, this "rash", mass of sml black dots entire stomach area, "blaringly obvious":.. "this aint right", "new dog" w/ me now, several months ..thought of Vet I'd had & loved (save cat, natural med; other Vets said "put down") but Dr P, gone: ("passed on") still, considered: ... "what would Dr P do ...that maybe I might think of...all he taught me?" (tho in my simplistic/un-educated way) Colloidal Silver!! (A staple in home) ..Why not try? ...Vets didn't help, ..& Dr P said "dogs & people, very similar..". (I'd used DR P's natural remedies, prescribed for another dog on me, & w/ success, tho Dr P stress: "am Vet, this is for ur dog." ( ..but I'd seen these in "Herb Store where got other stuff, so tried anyway) Am sure he knew, tho neither said ;-) ).. so gave CS a shot: Repeated this routine several times a day, for approx 10 - 14 days. Cured. Using cotton ball, douse in CS until dripping, rub area, stroking, repeatedly, ...gently, tho firm pressing into pores; leaving skin rather wet. New Dog viewed (so it seemed) "belly petting" ..tho was interested "why's my stomach wet?" So he'd lick area... liked CS, & wanted to lick cotton ball still in hand, (by then flat, not a ball). Folded flat ball up a bit, held firmly w/ fingers & thumb.. squeezing remaining CS out, as he licked to near dry, this cotton... De-lighted!! (me)..2 birds, 1 stone...a treat for him, & as bottle state, "tongue" ("under", technically, but close enough) Within couple wks, rash was gone, & used every drop CS, letting him lick cotton, no waste. Recommended 4 people: put liq. C.S., "under tongue let set @least 30 seconds; then Swallow. best by absorption IS skin of/ IN mouth, ...my dog got same dosing as me, (we r near the same weight) hassle free, for New Dog; & me, getting where really can do most good, internally by absorption. Cats & dogs do well swabbing inside upper ear, tho not wet as described above are you putting in my mouth, I didn't ask for ?!?!!" I let CS sit longer n 30 sec under my tongue, so figure OK for him keep licking; as he did, squeezed out every last drop, no waste & in mouth , as directed 4 people, (tho i use most any skin, & open cuts, etc) (above typed in red, tho I don't know how, convenient tho...)
I have a small shihtzu with severe allergies. I’m so tired of spending so much money at vets offices trying to get her itching and smell fixed! I may give all this a go! Thanks for the info!
I had the same problem with my Shih Tzu, Switched her to frozen raw food by Stella & Chewys. Took about 2 months for her allergies and itching to stop.
@@saveapetflorida5053 I have the same issue have you gotten the smell to stop or did you never have a smell? I’m going to try the frozen dog food is that still working for you?
Thanks! I love your channel. You should monetize your channel. You give us and our beloved pets so much and you should get something, too. I'd watch an ad for you.
Every time I’ve told my vet my Pit/Boxer that she has yeast, the the response I have ALWAYS gotten is, “I don’t really smell anything!” , while CONSTANTLY pushing Apoquel and/or Cytopoint. My baby was on Apoquel until she all of a sudden developed 3 breast masses and other growths that were expensive to remove, but she’s on a wellness plan that includes dental, and it’s not as expensive for the anesthesia while getting her teeth cleaned! I watched a video of yours last night about things to watch for, and I’m getting reamed. They’re all in it for the money. I’m sure chicken is irritating her in the Royal Canin Satiety food/treats,but it DOES help keep her fuller longer. The last vet suggested Royal Canin hydrolyzed protein(also chicken). Sorry to comment all this on the wrong video. I love you, Dr. Andrew Jones!! Thank you for all you do!! I’m making some changes because of you!!
I find myself saying, "this guy knows his shit", thru every video! Well done as usual ! Excellent content in an easy common sense approach. Love watching what you've got for us wth each video :-)
I have an elderly small dog. She was sent to me no doubt by God. There is a story behind this great gift of a furry friend. My Logan girl turned 15 in December and I cherish each moment with her. She has been well taken care of but now it is so hard on both myself and Logan when bath time comes. She doesn't like being lifted at all. Giving her a bath outdoors is definitely an option. Do you have any recommendations for an outdoor bath for her to not have to be lifted? My husband had ALWAYS trimmed her nails but for the past year we have to take her to the groomer because she will not let us now.
Hi Doctor Jones, I'm so sorry, I didn't know Louis was sick. I so happy he is feeling better, he's certainly got a great Paw Parent👍. As always, I cannot thank you enough for all the wise wisdom you impart to us and how much you truly put the care in caregiving! I've shared many of your shares with friends. Unfortunately, many of who would rather get a quick a toxic fix rather than using natural remedies(whether it's for their pet or themselves). I salute all those paw parents who go the natural way for their fur babies💞. BIG HUG AND THANKS TO DR. JONES!!!
Thank you, Dr. Andrew. We had been treating our adopted dog's skin problem for nearly a year. We went to the vet, tried Malaseb, homemade Aloe Vera Gel, etc. until I chanced upon this video. We bathed our dog with Selsum Blue for about 2-3 times, and the problem is almost gone. Shall we continue to bath with Selsum Blue or can we stop and switch back to normal dog shampoo? Will the dandruff problem come back?
Thank you! Will try:). Adopted a deaf dog and she has a strong smell even after a bath. She's been itching sometimes more than my other dog who has little or no smell. Thank you
Very helpful, offering options; thanks. I searched for this bc my 8 yr. old Gretta girl really smells. She is itchy and miserable. I know the diet is key to preventing yeast condition. ...... have learned a lot on line, but here with Dr. Jones I have a hopeful solution to treat it. Will also pay better attn. to the food I am buying.
Dr. Andrew you are an Angel for dogs, your loving kind nature comes through on all your videos. Thank you so much for the link to this video and responding to my comment so quickly. ☺💕👍🐕🐕🐕🐈 XOXOX XOXOX
Both Head and Shoulders and Selsiun Blue work against skin yeast infections!!! I think H&S is not as expensive and comes in generic now, so I would try it first if it fails then try SB!!! My children's pediatrician told me to use H&S for their craddle cap and it worked like a charm! Only took maybe three days and issues gone, but continued to use for a week to insure nothing sprung up from being dormant and it was gone!! Works only if issue is based from a yeast or similar type infection if it is an allergen or something else altogether very likely neither will work! However if H&S does not work try SB!!! They both may very well also come in travel sizes allowing for a more inexpensive trial!!! If finding they do have yeast issues give their food ingredients a good look over!!! Replace with foods if needed that has no oats, nothing high carb or sugars as those feed a yeast!!! 🐾😊😷🐾💜💙🐾💊💉🐕🐩🐾🐶🐺🐾🐕🐩🐾💙💜💖🐾💖🐺🐶🐾here poochie, poochie, poochie!!🐾💜🐾💙🐾💖🐾
Thank you Doc! I watched three of your videos in a row and signed up for your newsletter. I have been having issues with my senior dog and I really believe all that I watched will help her immensely.
Your the best and your vlogs are very informative. I come to not trust what vets say sometimes, I understand it’s a business but really do they have to push their sales on you. That’s why I stop taking my kids and seek alternative solutions. Which yours has help tremendously. Thank you for your love of animals and your videos.
I was skeptical about the apple-cider vinegar trick but i also didn’t want my house to smell like dog. I went to the store and picked up a spray bottle and some vinegar and used it on my puppy. The smell went away immediately. I’m completely shocked.
Our beagle stunk like crazy. We'd bathe him & blow dry him, but within a day he'd smell terrible again. It would be awful by a week. We've always used Espree Tea Tree & Aloe Shampoo on him. Oddly, we got him neutered when he was 2 & within a month he no longer smelled. Now we can bathe him once a month.
I love all this information. I used your video on treating my pups hot spot with tea and asprin 24 hours the skin is getting very normal looking. So nice to get information from someone who cares and your advice works. Can not wait to try some of these great tips such as making my own doggy shampoo. I love my rescue pup and so happy to hear what's real. :)
You are a great vet, I wish we had a vet like you who truly cares about animals so much. Thank you for your very helpful videos.🐈 here in the UK have had some very horrible experiences with vets.
Simple remedy = a fragrance free wet wipe on the face each night, washing his paws with a nail brush and real plain soap each time he comes in, (so poop isn't spread onto his face, etc). Cleaning the ears every day with the same.. then some salt water occasionally for eyes or until the pink/weepy eyes clear + teeth brushing each day. I actually can't find a smell as a result and he sleeps better/doesn't act irate anymore and he was very clean to start with, (he's 1 if anyone cares to know). P.s, trim the hair between their paw pads as needed and poke out anything that looks brown from their nails, (their nails are rounded and can bring in trace amounts of poop from other animals outside that they then scratch their face with etc.. :( it's no wonder I have never seen a truly clean/healthy dog in my life..
I have been using this th-cam.com/users/postUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU as a handy reference book. I read through the book and enjoyed the little glimpses of examples. I love that this author believes in rescue dogs. The tips and training has been invaluable and gave me moments of...."how simple why didn't I think of it" so it's been a great tool. Thank you!
Hi Doc! Just came across your channel and yes I did subscribe. Great video, well explained. My 92lb boxer/pit doesn't body odor smell, but has the WORSE BREATH!!! I've had many dogs, but never one with bad breath. I brush his teeth and give bones with mint. Out of desperation the last time I brushed his teeth, I added baking soda (just covering the brush top). This seemed to help a little. While brushing, I also cleaned his tongue. Any suggestions or advise? Much thanks from Florida. 🐶🐕🐱🐺🐱 I also have 3 cats. All my fur babies are rescues. 💖💙
Dr. Jones, Your link to pinterst is not working. Just thought I'd let you know. Love your channel. Love your natural remedies you give me too help treat my baby. Thanks
Thanks! Liquorish, nice tip. I used to have some for myself. I will be sure to give it a go. This is my 3rd summer with my 6 year old dog, and Spring seems to be the worse flare ups and this year it was the most nastiest and still going on months later. I was doing so good. Was making yogurt with Kootenay Meadows 10% with L. Reuteri, a human breast milk strain known to increase oxytocin and in return collagen production for healthy skin. That worked great until COVID, and I lost my supply of dairy. Plus it’s a process greater than 36hrs. It’s a tough routine. The very, very best results for his ears was a mixture of xylitol, mint oil for fungus and cooling, lemon juice, colloidal silver water, and sometimes tea tree oil, and thieves oil. That works great as drops, but I haven’t got that system going yet as a fully body treatment. Though, speaking of allergies, it’s been tough finding the right food. He was such a picky eater in the beginning, but I will keep trying to find the right combination.
Thank you so much for all these free remedies you've been giving us. GOD bless you. I followed your other video about the homemade ear infection remedy and it worked on my dog. Gonna try out this too because she has a very very strong smell that comes every 2 weeks and last 2 to 3 days then disappears .It is really bad to the point where you dont to be next to her. Will definitely try this. Thank you Sir!
my dog has infection on her ear ,neck and armpit region oinment , medicine recommended by doctors doesnot work people coming to our house says she smells like an rotten egg. this infection comes back every year n stay for about 9 months.gonna try this to minimize the smell.
Mui Ko Did you try selsun Blue? Or if that doesn't work try Head & Shoulders! Both probably available in travel sizes for less than $1.00 each hopefully and will give enough for testing! Or can buy regular size and just use oneself regardless if needed or not, if it no work on dog!!! Don't be afraid to try camomile tea oil, or green tea, tea tree, eucalyptus, lavender, or the like essential oil, with coconut oil, added to plain unsented lotion if wanted! Can also add vitamin E, cocoa butter, shae butter, etc. For a full mix of all things good for skin that do not counter act each other, just only put one choice of essential oils at a time, don't mix them unless work safely together and use food grade oils, not, unless tested, oils for candles, etc.!!! Also, if you think it is yeast but even the head and Shoulders doesn't work try getting fungus cream, aka jock itch cream, aka athlete's foot cream or aka vaginal yeast infection cream...all will kick a yeast infection if similar strands of yeast and they likely are!!! Just be sure to rub into the skin thoroughly!!! All of the various creams are basically one and the same! Or takle the same type of or similar issues! Yeast infections! Jock itch and female yeast infections are one and the same yeast infections in the groin internal and external areas!!! Plus check their food for wheat, oats, and any added sugars, ie corn syrup, sugar, cane sugar, etc.!!!
In the US it appears Selsen Blue is not commercially available in anything stronger than 1% selenium sulfide. 2.5% is available at Canada Amazon but will not ship to the states.
Thank you soooo much for sharing this valuable information!! I have a 9 yr old lab who is having a terrible yeast problem. I didn't realize this also causes inflammation but can attest to that being true as my lab is having a difficult time walking up stairs. I thought this was caused from a impaired immune system, but I thought you said this is caused from an overactive immune system. What would cause this?? I am curious if this could be caused by a dog being subjected to breathing heavy metals, aluminium, barium, strontium?? I am convinced this is the problem with my dog, as in typically leave her outside all day. Thank you for your thoughts, and kindness to share this information. :) :) :)
my 4 month old pit just started stinking a few weeks ago. shes an inside dog and just goes out to use the bathroom. ive given her a bath once a week. within an hour after her bath, she stinks again.
Don't forget to wash your dog's collar too. Skin and bacteria get caught in the fibers of the collar and will continue to smell after the dog is clean. Also it gives the yeast/bacteria a jumping off point to spread and re-stank your pet. I would suggest washing it with your dog's shampoo before washing the pet. Then while you bathe Scruffy let the collar soak in some diluted vinegar. Rinse well and dry.
Thank you Dr. Jones!! We have a toy Chihuahua, I give her a bath once a week, and after just two days, she'll start to smell, like Frito chips. I apply coconut oil, on her, after her bath, which has helped the dry skin, but hasn't worked for the foul smell. I'm going to buy Selsun Blue and use it on her next bath. My question is. After I bathe our Chihuahua, with Selsun Blue, could I still apply the coconut oil afterwards, or will it counteract the Sensun Blue. Your response will be greatly appreciated. And also thank you Dr Jones, for giving us advice on how to care for our loving pets. There's a lot of us folks, out here, who live on fixed incomes, and although we truly love our pets, we just can't afford veterinarian fees.
Monica Wesley I've about given up on everything! My Elizabeth (Toy Chihuahua) still smells like Frito chips. I bathe her once a week with Selsun Blue and then I apply coconut oil on her. I even tried apple cider vinegar, I would apply it after her bath, but the apple cider vinegar, made her skin dry and she started to get a dry patch on her back, with incredible itching, so I discontinued the apple cider vinegar. The coconut oil is great for her dry skin and even works wonders on her fungus infection, that she had at one point. But nothing seems to help for her smell, I even wash all of her bedding and baby blankets once a week, along with her stuffed animals, but to no avail. Please if anyone in U Tube land, knows of any remedies or veterinarian treatments, could you please inform us about it. Your response will be greatly appreciated.
I just tried the apple cider vinegar, I mixed it with her dog shampoo an oder control shampoo from Walmart. So far no nacho smell. 👍 but I brush her teeth and give her a multi vitamin for dogs too.
Monica Wesley Thank you Monica, I'll be going to Wal-Mart, to buy an Order Control Shampoo, hopefully that will help, I'm glad that the apple cider vinegar, helped your baby, as for our precious Elizabeth, the apple cider vinegar, only dried her skin. Thank you again.
my pet was recently prescribed apoquel. Did this help you? I am getting these items to start today, but am not sure if I need to continue meds as well.
U are wonderful. Wishing u lots of happiness, health and prosperity. That is for u and the family. Could u let me know where to purchase the licorice I was not able to get to mix witl blk ELDERBERRY and honey for their immune system. Also the oils the castile soap was able to purchase In Miami (washed babies clothes with it but in bars) please. Thank u again
You are awesome ! I have been dealing with my dog odor for a while now it drives me nuts and him as well he scratch all day like I don't bathe him which I do the apple cider rinse and then shampoo helped so much ! You are great ! And thanks for giving us advice ! May you be blessed I wish nothing but success for you !

Still working excellent :)
We have a Morris as well who has suffered and had to undergo expensive allergy shots every month. We are going to try the Selena Blue.
I love this guy and this information. I hope happiness and success are his companions. My dogs have benefited from this channel
Thanks Jim
Yes he's great and very informative I want to follow his videos as much as I can

Vetinary secrets..... Thank you you so so much, you have restored normality toour home, no more stinky dog, my dog had a yeast infection, now has Flax seed oil daily, and a lavender bath, thank you so much for your appreciated help. 💚
I'm so happy to hear that! Happy new year!
Im so sorry Louis was sick - I’m glad he’s doing better
Thanks!
Thanks so much!
For my stinky girl who hates baths I get warm water with a few tablespoons of baking soda. I use a small brush and dip it in the water and scrub the solution into her fur gently. This way she gets a "bath" without being in the water. The baking soda keeps her smelling better and her coat shiny.
Thank you ❤
Hi OK so without bathing her u brush her With the solutión and dont rinse out?
and how many times thank you
Out of my 3 dogs, girl dog smell really bad. I am going to use baking soda
I tried the Selsun Blue , and WOW , it worked !! My dog smelled good for a week ! Thanks for the great tip !
Yey! That's great!
You are our hero! Our Shepard/Husky mix was stinking up the whole house! Selsun Blue one time leaving it on for 5-10 min then rinsing...solved! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!
Which kind did u use it's like 3 bottles
I tried it twice on my Shepherd. It dried her so so so bad. She has dandruff or fungal dandruff. I'm about to try this shampoo. She has bald spots and is terrible. Smells like Fritos.
Why has no 1 made a summary list?
Ok-selsun blue, apple cider vinegar & water, lavender and/or mint oil all topical options or flax oil in food, licorice herb in food acts as anti inflammatory-short term only.
Video goes into detail with dosage but it's longer than necessary in my opinion.
Novella Cinephile NEVER give licorice to a dog. It can cause hyperaldosteronism which is fatal.
Thank you
Novella Cinephile Thanksss
Licorice root is not for dogs and can cause high blood pressure as well in humans.
I give my dog Turmeric, flax seed and coconut oil.....has made such a difference in his painful back
You need a bigger couch...
Suzanne Ribas or smaller dog lmao
I feel that way with my rottweiler.
Lol
Haha, so true, but it is his office. 🤣🤣
Haha
Your channel is wonderful! As a new dog owner I want the healthiest dog. I don't want them to load him up with chemicals.
Congrats with the new dog and welcome to the channel!
I want to thank you! I watched your video today and with the apple cider vinegar
I wiped my dog down with it on the affected area's gave it 5 minutes and wiped her with a warm washcloth put a teaspoon in her water. Went out to dinner came home to walk her and she looked 90 percent better in a matter of hours. We have been dealing with skin condition for the last with a Veterinarian with no resolution.
Yey! So glad it helped!
Bang on...selsun blue is the elixir! I have to thank my wife & her daughter for this discovery. Thank you sir.
Most welcome!
That is a dog couch and they are kind enough to share it with you❣️❣️❣️
Love the essential oils - lavender is so soothing to the skin, and is also calming. Basil & Thyme are antibacterial, and Oregano is anti-fungal.. Oregano is a "hot oil" and needs to be highly diluted with a carrier oil like olive oil...
Good to know, thank you.
be careful with essential oils around dogs and cats, some can be toxic.
Pearl laying there like..."I know you're talking about me." 😑
tough lmao
Yeah! I was thinking the same thing! She was self conscious about it, obviously! Cute!
THANK YOU!!! I just spent a FORTUNE at my vet to have her skin scraped to tell me it WASNT MANGE!!! U just saved me another chunk of cash...ur a God Send!🤗
After buying alot of different products yes, selson blue works also apple vinegar 💙
Hi,
Thanks for the suggestions- yes diet plays a huge roll
Brilliant advice, as always find the cause of the problem instead of just treating symptoms.
Please advise, what is a natural raw diet? and any of your links that help us to acquire knowledge.
The yeast is there because of the sugar in fabric dog food.
What’s the natural raw diet please?
Thank you.
Nice to know Tamara
My dog, she has dandruff now, have no idea why it just started soo I used Dawn dish soap and I noticed that it has helped some but it takes a while!
I will definitely try this for a smell good home. ACV did help with her ears, after 5 min she is now sleeping fine. Thank you!
I used to use a homemade soap with rosemary and mint essential oils it helped with his smell and with keeping fleas away
Good tips
Lovelystephaniej same with me
Directions please!
Please share how did you made it
So Sorry to here about Louis passing...so sad😔😔 pearl must miss him😔😔 Thank you for all your great info..I have a dog Toby...he gets ear recurring ear infections...and Oder on his skin...when I rescued Toby at 13 weeks old he had severe demedetic mange was on ivermectin for almost 10 months...He is now 3 years old and doing great except for his ears and his smell and always licking his paws. Toby is my world and don't know what I would do without him....again so sorry about Louis😔 Thank you for all your help with Toby!!! He says thank you too!!! 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Thanks- yes he is missed :-(
My dogs just had a bath yesterday and now they still stink _-_
That's why you keep dogs outside and make them their own house.. I don't know who thought it was great idea to keep dogs inside they are definitely not clean animals for home. And they also prefer to be outside and run free in yard, at least my dogs do
Hic et nunc yeah but not everyone has a place where they can keep their dogs outside
Hic et nunc do we leave smelly humans outside to ?
Same, same.
My dogs stay outside but we let them inside like once a week sometimes once every 2 weeks
Thank you for sharing this clip.
God bless.😊
I bathe my dog every two weeks, but in between, I like that lavender oil idea. The smell of lavender is very calming!
I agree
beth f I have great results adding essential oils to my dogs grooming
+Veterinary Secrets Thank you for all your help, I'm sure fudge will smell fine after the dandruff shampoo ,and green tea rinse.😷
Watch amount of lavender oil. Can be toxic on animals. See vet video that are essential oil users .
Dogs sense of smell is 50 times that of human.
1 drop of lavender essential oil in 8 Oz of water is max dose for a cat. So be careful, please.
you're literally a life saver my dog and I thank you
You're welcome!
I gave my dog a bath not long ago and noticed she has a really bad odor lately. I’m going to try the apple cider vinegar in her water and other ones thank you very much!
Great and helpful video.
But do I continue to use the Selsun Blue?
Or should I switch up shampoo at some point?
Thanks for sharing, Dianne!
I've got THE STINKIEST OLD DOG! So much so, I almost bought that Mane shampoo today! glad I caught your video first! (let's just hope this works for her!)
Thanks Stephen

Did it work!?
Collodial silver sprayed on the area where fungus or bacteria is works quite quickly too. Spray on, leave it, that's it.
Yes,. Gail IS correct. Wounds, & rashes. Section below in red (don't know how "red" but is..skip down "to the pt. & how I use(d) Colloidal Silver, mysterious rash, among other prob, dogs & cats)
My rescue came w/ some "mysterious skin condition", covered his stomach;
3 diff. vet's couldn't figure out, what it was, .. or help, (several meds attempted).
...1 nite "new dog" lay next to me, on half the sofa, (idea how big he is) legs sprawled open, this "rash", mass of sml black dots entire stomach area, "blaringly obvious":.. "this aint right", "new dog" w/ me now, several months
..thought of Vet I'd had & loved (save cat, natural med; other Vets said "put down") but Dr P, gone: ("passed on") still, considered:
... "what would Dr P do ...that maybe I might think of...all he taught me?" (tho in my simplistic/un-educated way)
Colloidal Silver!! (A staple in home)
..Why not try? ...Vets didn't help, ..& Dr P said "dogs & people, very similar..". (I'd used DR P's natural remedies, prescribed for another dog on me, & w/ success, tho Dr P stress: "am Vet, this is for ur dog." ( ..but I'd seen these in "Herb Store where got other stuff, so tried anyway) Am sure he knew, tho neither said ;-) )..
so gave CS a shot:
Repeated this routine several times a day, for approx 10 - 14 days. Cured.
Using cotton ball, douse in CS until dripping,
rub area, stroking, repeatedly, ...gently, tho firm pressing into pores;
leaving skin rather wet.
New Dog viewed (so it seemed) "belly petting" ..tho was interested "why's my stomach wet?"
So he'd lick area... liked CS, & wanted to lick cotton ball still in hand, (by then flat, not a ball).
Recommended 4 people:
put liq. C.S., "under tongue let set @least 30 seconds; then Swallow.
best by absorption IS skin of/ IN mouth,
...my dog got same dosing as me, (we r near the same weight)
hassle free, for New Dog; & me, getting where really can do most good, internally by absorption.
Cats & dogs do well swabbing inside upper ear, tho not wet as described above are you putting in my mouth, I didn't ask for ?!?!!"
I let CS sit longer n 30 sec under my tongue, so figure OK for him keep licking; as he did,
squeezed out every last drop, no waste & in mouth , as directed 4 people, (tho i use most any skin, & open cuts, etc)
(above typed in red, tho I don't know how, convenient tho...)
I have a small shihtzu with severe allergies. I’m so tired of spending so much money at vets offices trying to get her itching and smell fixed! I may give all this a go! Thanks for the info!
Amen
I had the same problem with my Shih Tzu, Switched her to frozen raw food by Stella & Chewys. Took about 2 months for her allergies and itching to stop.
@@saveapetflorida5053 I have the same issue have you gotten the smell to stop or did you never have a smell?
I’m going to try the frozen dog food is that still working for you?
my dog stinks because he hates baths😂😂😂😂😂😂

Thanks! I love your channel. You should monetize your channel. You give us and our beloved pets so much and you should get something, too. I'd watch an ad for you.
Thank You :-)
Every time I’ve told my vet my Pit/Boxer that she has yeast, the the response I have ALWAYS gotten is, “I don’t really smell anything!” , while CONSTANTLY pushing Apoquel and/or Cytopoint.
Thanks C- Glad to know yo get a sense I do know what I am talking about. :-)
I washed my dog like a month ago. SHE STILL SMELLS AMAZING! We definitely chose the right dog shampoo.
Galaxy Paws what shampoo did you used?
Yes, what did you use?
What did you use!!!?
What dog breed ?

You have no idea how much of a blessing you are😊 to us
Just happy to help! Please do share my videos. 😉
As always, great informative advice. Thank you for all you do to help care for all the furbabies.😊🐾
Thanks
Thank you! Will try:). Adopted a deaf dog and she has a strong smell even after a bath. She's been itching sometimes more than my other dog who has little or no smell.
Thank you

I’m on milk this’ll and dandelion root for my liver also and I’m doing well, I hope he gets better and better😍
milk thistle.
PEARL is adorable. Thank you for this information.
She sure is! You're welcome
I wish more vets had your mind set and approach. Thank you 🙏👏❤️
Dr Andrew Jones. ..you are a blessing to all animals and their owners. Thank you you so much 💚💛
Thank you for watching! We'll be uploading more!
scrambled egg or two in their food bowl, works great. Not every day obviously, clears up my dogs scratching. Coat is super shiny.
Dr. Andrew you are an Angel for dogs, your loving kind nature comes through on all your videos. Thank you so much for the link to this video and responding to my comment so quickly.

Thank your for signing up! Hope my videos helped your dog. How old is he/she?
@@VeterinarySecrets - you are welcome! My pup is a Black lab and she is about 12 yrs old.
So happy to hear Louis is doing so well.
Thanks
Your the best and your vlogs are very informative. I come to not trust what vets say sometimes, I understand it’s a business but really do they have to push their sales on you. That’s why I stop taking my kids and seek alternative solutions. Which yours has help tremendously. Thank you for your love of animals and your videos.
Thanks Jay
How much honey do I use in a mix with sunflower oil or coconut oil or alone?
Thank you for all the information, it is highly appreciated.
you're welcome!
Thank you❤, does giving 1tsp fish oil once a day make bichon smell?
When I removed all carbohydrate from my dogs, all of them stopped stinking. I am 100% convinced its diet.
Sir.. Carbs? My dog love bread .
My dog eat alot of bread everyday
Like 3x aday.. But my dog is not too big,
I love all this information. :)
Thanks Bonnie

You are a great vet, I wish we had a vet like you who truly cares about animals so much. Thank you for your very helpful videos.🐈 here in the UK have had some very horrible experiences with vets.
I'm sorry to hear that, but thank you:)

Thank you doc! You're a life saver! Love from the Philippines 🇵🇭
You’re welcome!
Usually I use legendary your dogs Veterinary dog shampoo help me out please thank you you have a wonderful day and you be safe
Hi, if there is excess tartar it needs to be removed. You can watch this: th-cam.com/video/xBnGRtps-Ro/w-d-xo.html
Love you and all your comments and help with NATURAL stuff.
Dr. Jones, Your link to pinterst is not working. Just thought I'd let you know. Love your channel. Love your natural remedies you give me too help treat my baby. Thanks
Thanks Mishah,
I'll check that!
I wish you the best of luck:)
Does this help with extreme breath odor when eating or cleaning theirseves?
So sorry to hear your pup got sick , glad he's better🐶🐶

Thank you so much for all these free remedies you've been giving us. GOD bless you. I followed your other video about the homemade ear infection remedy and it worked on my dog. Gonna try out this too because she has a very very strong smell that comes every 2 weeks and last 2 to 3 days then disappears .It is really bad to the point where you dont to be next to her. Will definitely try this.
Thank you Sir!
Thanks Christelle
my dog has infection on her ear ,neck and armpit region oinment , medicine recommended by doctors doesnot work people coming to our house says she smells like an rotten egg. this infection comes back every year n stay for about 9 months.gonna try this to minimize the smell.
Miu Ko Did any of the remedies shown in this video help your dog?
Mui Ko
Did you try selsun Blue?
You are sooo knowledgeable! And I love that you use natural remedies. I subscribed! 😊
Thanks
This is so helpful. Thank you Dr. ❤❤❤
Welcome

There are many possibilities. Benign fatty tumors are most common. A vet exam is a good idea

God bless you 🙏😇 I will try these remedies.
All the best
my 4 month old pit just started stinking a few weeks ago. shes an inside dog and just goes out to use the bathroom. ive given her a bath once a week. within an hour after her bath, she stinks again.
I have the same problem what did you do
Same here... And his allergies issues, he starts to pant and scratch himself so desperately! I don't know what to do, help me please!
Did you try any of the tips from the video? Did they help?
Namaste Silence Benadryl, and make a mixture of acv with the mother half water and a few drop of teatree oil
Thku! I will go to Walmart for the ACV, and I'll try with the tea tree oil (love it) as well ;)
Don't forget to wash your dog's collar too.
Great tip!
Hi - that may be helpful as the coconut oil is a good conditioner
My chia smells like Frito's too.
Monica Wesley
I've about given up on everything!
Monica Wesley
Thank you Monica, I'll be going to Wal-Mart, to buy an Order Control Shampoo, hopefully that will help, I'm glad that the apple cider vinegar, helped your baby, as for our precious Elizabeth, the apple cider vinegar, only dried her skin. Thank you again.
Appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I've been admin'ing Apoquel to my senior dog but think I will try the Selsun and Flax oil. >''
Thanks Charlene
my pet was recently prescribed apoquel. Did this help you? I am getting these items to start today, but am not sure if I need to continue meds as well.
My soon Daniel started using omega 3 oil and it's helped so much. But I will try the shampoo. Thanks doctor.

Yes, that is a good suggestion
Thanks so much sometimes our dog has some strong doggy orders much love and Blessings to you and your family 🙏❤️
