A great, weeks-long blooming white, slowly spreading low perennial evergreen is Candytuft. I started a few plants from seed and they became large white masses in just two seasons. The foliage is glossy dark green and delicate - small, spruce shaped leaves. You'll think there is snow on the ground during its 6 weeks of blooming time! I really appreciate the pros and cons commentary you provide - so useful.

Loved your comment!!😃. I also started some candytuft from seed this year. I didn’t have great success with germination, but I have a few small plants and was wondering if I should plant now.. or in the fall. I think they like cooler weather so I’m wondering if fall would be best….🤷🏻‍♀️🤔.
      Thanks for your comment ❤️

@@letsgrow260 I'm in Zone 5b/6a. We get lots of rain in spring and fall and lots of snow in winter. I absolutely abused my candytuft and left some of my seedlings in little 4 inch pots all summer (80's to mid '90's and humid) they looked half dead and then I left them all winter in those pots. I was sure they were dead but in late spring I saw some green on the little 3 inch twigs. I planted them and they did fairly well but didn't bloom. This spring they ballooned and are covered in blooms. Depending on how super hot you get, I would say it's impossible to kill candytuft. After blooming cut back some to prevent straggly, woody growth over time. I'll be watching to see how yours get along!

Greetings from Ireland, Beautiful garden, It the bees knees. We had a really wet spring, March was the wettest on record. The slugs and snails are out in force and I have twenty slug traps in the garden beds.
I have found loads of the fuppers under my pots and I wont go into the gory details about there demise. I have a homemade slug bait for the traps which is one cup of water, one teaspoon of flour. one teaspoon of sugar, one teaspoon of dry yeast and two teaspoons of salt. I call it the carrot and stick approach the yeast draws them in and the salt zaps the fuppers.

Thank you! Almost all my plants are young and the gardens are new. It’s exciting to see things mature in a year or two so that you don’t have to wait for YEARS to have beautiful color… or texture. I was AMAZED at how fast and big that “Georgia Peach” coral bell/ heuchera got in one year. And the color it provides that shady spot is exactly what I was hoping for. Thanks for your sweet comment 🥰
