Correction: The frame windows I mentioned are off by 1 frame. For example if I said "16 frame hit confirm window", then it's actually a 17 frame window. My bad. Another Correction: If your st MP is spaced, the hit confirm gets harder to do by 1 frame, because you hit with the 2nd active frame. Another thing to add: cr MP canceled into Drive Rush/Specials is also hit confirmable! It's a 16 hit confirm, which is as hard as a spaced st MP. Btw if you're playing online and there's even 1 frame of delay (not rollback), hit confirming these is so much harder. I can't do it at all. You can add frames of delay in training mode to check if you can do it. Also, make sure you use settings that reduce input delay, like turning off VSync and turning on input delay reduction. If you're on PC and got an NVIDIA graphics card, turning on ultra low latency mode might help as well. If you could make more Luke guides, or overall guides, that would be awesome! I’m learning a lot of the basics of fighting games for the first time from you.
You have to be very careful cause yes it does make it easy to hit confirm but you’re kinda taking ur eyes off the game so Drive Impact and other stuff become tricky
I love that these guides are bite-sized. I could never digest those long guides that would feel like a class session lmao. These are much more straight to the point and lets the viewers understand the game one mechanic at a time rather than be overwhelmed by every single element all at once! Good stuff!
I know im late, but hit confirming is very hard for me in SF6. This is my first SF. I come from Mortal Kombat where hit confirming is very easy because there are alot of pop up moves and longer hit stuns that allow u to know that u can convert into a full combo. Thanks for the tips
5hp hit confirm is also pretty useful and has the same confirm window as 2mk TC. I'm having more trouble to confirm 2mp counter hit than I expected. The window seems pretty generous on paper but I just can't do it consistently.
As I've gotten higher in ranked and am hitting my personal wall (opponents beating me more often, opponents that I get blown out against, very close wins that I'm clawing my way to win), these guides of yours are helping me improve on specific areas and weaknesses in my gameplay. Thanks for the continued Luke (and SF6) content. Are there any characters you want to see return in SF6 that you would look up play/main?
Thank you so much for the compliments and I wish you the best in your journey! I'm very happy with Luke but I'd love to see Poison or Dudley come back and try them.
I had to figure this out the hard way by recording the footage and going frame by frame and count the frames of inputs on the left side in training mode 😅
I don't think there's any chance in hell i'm gonna be able to do this especially in a match but the healthbar tip seems pretty helpful so it's worth a try i guess xD
Oh maybe I know what the issue is. If you space standing MP really well, you hit the opponent with the 2nd active frame instead of the 1st. In that situation, you actually only have 15 frames to react. So you gotta make sure that you're close enough to hit with the first active frame in order to have 16 frames to react, which is a bummer.
So practically, it's 15 frames .. because if u have to be closer then cr mk is faster and hits low too.. cr mp is even faster and cancelable too, I think they intended for st mp to be 16 frames, then forgot about the first and second active frame thing, 15 frames is really hard for the majority of players, including pros, no wonder I rarely see Lukes trying to confirm it.
@@Popeye882 I see st MP being confirmed all the time to be honest. By high level players at least. The first active frame of st MP still reaches further than cr MK and it does more damage and combos into super. I'd say those are pretty good reasons to use it.
bro with all due respect but this shit seems IMPOSSIBLE. . .like even w/ the tip you gave i don't understand how anyone can reasonably react w/i such a short period of time. Like wtf. . .bro i've played RTS before and had insane APM and i can't get this shit down. how tf are peeps doing it? i mean how much time do you have to input this 2 hit combo on luke after you've done the first hit? u hit them, look to see if health bar has decreased, and then press the button again. . .WTF!? bro i can't do this not even once and i've tried no joke 30 times
i'm plat 4 stars w/ luke and can't get it once :(. how long did u have to practice before nailing it? would love to see a vid of u doing this 10x in a row. By the time i realize i should hit another button, it's too late@@jeako777

I always try to make more when I got the time 👍Happy to help
Your tip about looking at their health bar instead of their model is extremely helpful, thanks for that!

Its pretty amazing that luke has so many TCs,they can lead to decent damage too surprisingly
He’s back! With more gold!

this is very helpful
Nice little guide! Btw what's the music playing on the background?
It‘s Karin‘s theme from Street Fighter V
How do you know how many frames each target combo has for you to confirm? Can this be determined in training mode ?
I had to figure this out the hard way by recording the footage and going frame by frame and count the frames of inputs on the left side in training mode 😅
@@jeako777 thats some serious dedication. Thanks for your hard work!

It‘s not easy but almost everybody can do this with enough practice!

Hi, are u sure the standing MP TG cancel window is 16 frames ? it feels much harder than the CR MK cancel, it feels like 14 or 15 frames
I checked again and they're definitely both 16 frames.

I will do the light punch target combo and if it gets blocked I will cancel into a sandblast to create distance and then block low or back up.
better just to drive rush and throw imho
That's good n' all, but can you teach me how to react to 45F jumps?>
Can‘t say much besides practice, practice, practice 😁
Why is 12f not hit confirmable?
Why would it be? It‘s just way too fast for our reaction time
