    Im so stressed over it. My dobie has it all over her face and is constantly bleeding and swelling. Shes been on meds for about a month. She had it first all bad on her paws and mouth but now its gone. But now she has it real bad right above her eyes, causing them to swell and bleed. Its so frustrating. Ive switched meds two days ago and now im praying it helps her. Love her too much and it hurts seeing her in pain.

    Thank you for this video! My 5 month old Frenchie started to lose a lot of hair and I thought it might be because of him playing in the wet grass. But after sometime when they didn't go away and became bigger and redder we took him to the vet and they scraped his skin to check if it was demodex and it turned out it was. At the moment, for the first week of treatment, he gets a bath every two days with one ML ivermectin mixed with a shampooer which is antimicrobial/degreasing/follicular flushing formulation.
    The vet has asked me to bring him in once every week where he gives him 2 injections and a ridd bath. It's just been 4 days of treatment and he seems to be doing better already. Thank you for this video it has helped me feel better about my doggies situation.

    My Dog is around 12 years old and from past year onwards she has developed severe mange and secondary infections. I tried everything from ivermectin to ACV to borax to Lime sulphur dips but it keeps coming back. Her quality of life has become very poor. She sleeps the whole day, drinks a lot of water, very less food and mostly itches at night. I can see her complaining if I brush her, understandably the skin liaisons must be painful. Any kind of suggestion will be helpful. Her underlying problem is hypo thyroid, she has two tabs each day.

    I got it on my face from the dog. I had to dig a couple out. It felt like little critters were waving their arms around, several times per day. It must be horrible for the dogs with multiple hot spots at once.
    Wormwoood rid her of worms. She's a pupster. Have gone after the bumps, opening them, after spraying them down a day or two prior, with a treatment.
    Immune compromised? I stopped feeding her kibble. Now she eats egg fried in olive oil for protein, and veggies, fruit galore. Beef when we have it. Boiled small potatoes. No longer the enormous, stinky, continuous poops from non-nutritive kibble filled with barley, etc.

    Can mites be so bad on someone that literally being around them causes you to contract them? I’ve told my friend they have some kind of mite cause even if I’m around them I’ll come down with symptoms. It’s so bad I had to stop talking to them. And since I have, I no longer have symptoms.
    Last time I was just by their car and after 30 mins or so of being around them I could feel my face itching as if something was crawling on it, and it only happens literally when I interact with them only. What sucks is they refuse to believe me when I tell them.
    Every time said friend would come over all they would do is constantly rub their face and scratch everywhere blaming mosquitos.
    But when they scratch could they be knocking mites off them which make it over to me by being airborne?
    I know it has to be something cause this issue wasn’t always a problem, it just kinda happened recently. but now if I do interact with said friend I don’t let them in the house and literally take a shower and wash my clothes as soon as they leave. Whereas if I don’t I’m constantly itching like they were.
    At first I didn’t really pay attention but now I’m positive it’s not some crazy thought as I’ve never had an itching problem. I literally can feel them crawling on me after interacting with them. And it only happens when they’re around. I’ve even waited till I was itch free, then interacted with them purposely to see if I’d develop symptoms and sure as shit I did.

      I really must talk to you!! Yes I know exactly what you are talking about. I have a dog that is only 7 Lbs with this issue and swear I have an infestation now and we have been passing it back and forth for almost acyear

    • @mushmmm1509
      @mushmmm1509 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pattidowling5678 treat the dog and your whole house. I use Lysol and spray it literally on everything. I also use alcohol water mix 50/50 that I spray on myself. I’m able to totally get rid of the problem, unless I interact with my friend which I don’t anymore and have been itch free ever since. Also dry all your clothes through multiple cycles on the hottest setting. If your bed mattress isn’t wrapped with plastic already I suggest doing so. Vacuum everything daily and clean your car as they will live there and transfer back on to you repeating the cycle. After about 3-5 days of this you should be itch free. Don’t really know how the dog will come into play but make sure the dog gets treated, or else you’ll be back at square one.

    My 20 month old black lab was diagnosed with demodex last month. He list a lot of hair around his eyes and numerous patches on all four paws and legs. they put him on some sort of oral medication as well as prednisone. All the info I find says when puppies get it it usually is from an immune system that isn't fully developed and if old dogs get it it can be from a serious health problems. what about my 20 month old? He is neither a pup or an old dog. I am terrified he has an underlying condition that is going to kill him. He seems fine. Not losing or gaining weight. Healthy appetite. Wants to play all the time, etc.

    I'm confused! In one sentence you say demodex is passed from the mother to her puppies. Later you say when demodex is found in older dogs...How does an older dog get demodex if it 1) isn't contagious and 2) can it be passed to humans? I've heard of demodex being in our eyelash follicles or on our face. Which is it?

    • @jmiller5012
      @jmiller5012 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think what he is trying to say is that when older dogs get it, it is usually due to an underlying problem with their immune system. It's common for dogs to have these mites in all ages, but it's only when there is an immune system issue that the mites will be able to thrive on the dogs skin. Otherwise the mites just hang out on their skin without doing damage because the body is able to easily fight them off. Our dog definitely got them from his mother but full blown symptoms didn't really show up until age 2 or so. Even then, we just thought it was skin allergies because it would kind of come and go as our puppy was fighting it. Another year or two of small issues and then it got out of control completely and just took off. So it took 3 or 4 years to actually completely understand what it was, but in hindsight we could see small issues back to pup years. Our dog has underlying immune system issues too, which is why it was able to take control of him. But it was a long confusing process for us as well as his vet as the symptoms were not super obvious in his case.

      @tamicotton9340 ปีที่แล้ว

    hi doctor
    I have a cat suffering from hair loss and it is clear that there are also bald areas in the neck area.
    In addition, the cat gets saliva from its mouth when petting it (it may be problems in the upper respiratory system), weight loss, and an unwillingness to do many activities.
    After a long reading about these symptoms, I realized the possibility of two diseases that cause these symptoms, and personally, I was confused between them.
    Which is more appropriate in this case
    Is it a fungal skin disease called Ringworm or parasites of the so-called feline demodex?
