Tons of other chefs telling you the same thing with the same ingredients but you have such charm and can tell you love what you do that THIS is the dressing i'm making thanks to you. Great job!
This is almost exactly how I make my Caesar salad ... with a couple of deviations. I use sourdough bread for my croutons, and I use avocado oil & seasonings on them. Also, I usually have anchovy fillets on hand, but paste is fine, too There was a time when I did the "egg & oil" base. I have no problem with today's raw eggs. Then, a friend said "what is 'egg & oil?'" MAYONNAISE! I switched, and it's better, and easier. (On the west coast, our Hellman's is Best Foods.) Good to see your presentation.
I make my own croutons from my homemade sourdough bread. I cube the bread (not as big as hers), add olive oil, Italian season, and minced garlic. I mix it with my hands so it coats really well and put them in a single layer on a cookie sheet for about 15 minutes at 375 degrees. You can put them in a zip lock bag and freeze them for later too.
Thank you very much for sharing the recipe. I’m a senior citizen and if I had to pay for this type of salad at a nice restaurant it would have cost me at least about $15. This recipe is soooo good the best part is I have a lot of ingredients left over to make a few more salads when I get hungry!!
I always wondered how people do creamy Caesar dressing. Well we tried yours and let me tell you. WE LOVE IT!!! My husband didn’t think he would like it but boy we did. Thank you for sharing your recipe.🎉
First time I've seen your video your lots of fun to watch and ceaser dressing is my favorite glad i decided to watch you 😊I'll be watching you always 😊 now
Super. I love the comment that you didn't do your hair, but you purchased anchovies paste!! Super. Oh, yes, Caesar salad is my favorite. Closely followed by an iceberg wedge.
I googled how to make salad dressing and found you!! I made this last night tweeked it with red pepper flakes it was amazing Daughter loved it!! Thanks
Will definitely try this.I've been to a few restaurants an noticed a few ceasar dressings with a slight sweeter taste. What can be added to give it that taste ?
Love it! BTW! Make sure you let your guests know it has seafood in it. They may have an allergy! Also, 4C makes a grated parm cheese without any cellulose or additives. I also agree with other comments. Please put the recipe on your post so we can print it! Thanks, and keep posting!!!
I heard that the Worstershire sauce is made out of anchovies.😊 I think you mentioned at the end to double up on the Worcestershire sauce if you don't like anchovies.
Waaaahhhh.. your energy is on next level. I loved your knives and the way you crushed cheese. Your cutting skills are just wow. Overall it was so joyous to watch your vid. Stay connected. 🥰🥰🤗
I made the salad dressing too...Game changer. I think you ruined me for store bought. It is so good. I look foward to more videos from you Jyll (May I call you Jyll? 🙂
The only carbs would be the croutons..otherwise fat doesn't make you fat, that is the lie we have all been sold. It's carbs and sugar that makes you fat. This salad minus the croutons is perfect keto diet
Omg definitely the best homemade caesar dressing I've ever made and so easy! I have had issues making it with extra Virgin olive oil which ends up bitter! This is amazing thank you for sharing ❤
Jill, your recipe looks great. I am making it today. You seem like my twin, your enthusiasm and attitude, so like myself. What is your birthday. 😊 Sincerely, Suz
Hellmans has raw eggs. every mayo made has raw eggs. it also has soybean oil. with homemade mayo you pick a healthy oil such as avocado or what I use, mct oil.
Just so you know….. the hate on fat was to bring in chemicals into our food. FATs are way more healthy than seed oils. Cholesterol is a huge factor in our health and we need to stop blaming it for our health problems. The fact is we need to keep eating fat. So that means the salad dressing is good for us and we need not be afraid to enjoy your awesome meal. Better yet if you grow your own garlic romaine and eggs. Thanks for all your help and suggestions.
I’ve been making this dressing for 50 years it’s the best. Caesar Cardini invented this dressing at his restaurant in 1924 in Tijuana, Mexico. For the authentic recipe, I advise looking him up. After you’ve made the correct version of this dressing, tweak it to your liking if you must but it doesn’t need it. This chef is not making anything close to Caesar dressing. There is NO mayo in this dressing & she should’ve used the entire tube of anchovy paste. I can’t watch anymore😳🤯
Everything looks great… just three comments : 1) use a clean utensil to re taste the food; 2) don’t place the used utensil on the cutting board when you still need to cut other food (in this case, lettuce); and 3) please don’t kiss the food - it is unsanitary 😊
I won't critique your "Caesar" salad recipe because I haven't tried it. It may be a good salad but it is definitely not a Caesar salad...for many reasons.
Ceasar Salad, omg. It´s a disaster in all. Totally destroying a god dish. No eggjokes, Hellman majo, ansjovi paste, cutting the sallad. What a fu joke.
That's not correct as far as the dressing ingredients. your missing a raw egg yokes, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, anchovies, olive oil and Dijon mustard. mayonnaise is not normal unless you are making a creamy version. way too much garlic. there is a delicate balance. just a thought, not a sermon.
OMG! Sorry. It’s a 👎. You have to rinse the romaine. I like to submerge the lettuce in ice water, (place the colander in bowl of very cold water) . That’s why the make salad spinners and towels. Croutons are too large. Mayo - no. I’m a traditionalist olive oil. I like my anchovies out of the tin.
I loved it and definitely will try it, but if you put the ingredients on the screen or comment section it would be more useful!!
I always use anchovy paste because it last longer in the fridge and I think it adds more flavor! good to hear you are also on board.
Tons of other chefs telling you the same thing with the same ingredients but you have such charm and can tell you love what you do that THIS is the dressing i'm making thanks to you. Great job!
I appreciate that, thank you!
This is an awesome salad dressing. I've made Jyll's dressing many times. It is my favorite!
Butter does not belong in any part of a Cesar salad
Looking forward to making it!! Thank you! Before my son passed I made him Ceasars salad and showed him he actually liked anchovies and he loved it!
Looks very easy to make. I love salad so i will make it and will keep you posted. Thank you

I’m personally not a huge sourdough fan, but I love using avocado oil as well for croutons! Thanks for watching :)

I love this recipe and your personality I love shrimp and salmon on my caesar salad too new subbie here

Hi! The TINIEST pinch of sugar will help with that :)

@@chefjyllschop6938 yes i do i love salad
I applaud your honesty, when you said that about the Krusty mustard on the top 😂 I’ll try this recipe.
Not a fan of using Mayo, do you have any other substitutes?
I will never understand cooking shows that don’t provide a recipe.
I totally agree. Then you are forced to watch the entire video and then some.
Agree
The europians.pronounce worstershire like just "Wooster"

The caesar dressing looks great. Jyll could pass for Hilary Clinton's little sister. I was waiting for Bill to make an appearance LOL!

Squeezing the lemon with the tongs- good idea.

Ha! I see you and appreciate you! :)
I use Anchovy Sauce...
Good morning!
That’s the Caesar salad ?😂
No anchovies is a NO-GO 🤦🏾♂️

@@Puuq2002 1. I would never at my business, but at home, my kids don’t care. 2. Ok. 3. Can’t help it. When you are in love, you’re in love.
WTF. Mayo in Ceasars dressing
TRUST. It’s Wisconsin Caesar. A delicacy.
All the sins in the book. Store bought mayo, anchovy paste 😭, the salad thing... No lady, just no.
I am a sinner who LOVES a creamy Caesar…..yes honey, just yes :)
You threw out way too much from the top of the lettuce, the best part 😮
Thank you! I'm looking for a great Caesar dressing.
I like your hair, but the camera nod makes me dizzy!
Bacon????????
More talk than work
Right??
You’re wasting a large portion of the romaine and tossing out a lemon that can help with greasy clean-up…..why?
Agree love the video, however you need to rinse the romaine.
Mayo? - Fuckin Rookie!
SERIOUSLY. I’m the WORST.
No way cupboards filled with canned food...no Chef uses any canned ingredients...BLOCK...
Oh man :( I miss you already!

I agree. Not traditional at all but SO FREAKING GOOD :)
also can we use garlic powder instead of fresh?
Too much talk could be done faster.

Ummm….did you like my apron? 😉
Does the ice water crisp up the Romaine? You give an ice bath to firm up young papaya shreds for Thai Papaya Salad
Come on…
@@chefjyllschop6938 yeah i really do..hahaha
Why are you like this?
suprised not making dressing from scratch... deceiving video. Have you check the ingredient list on your mayo?
Yup! Make 99% of my dressings from scratch. This one however is so delish, I take the shortcut. Don’t knock it till ya try it!
This was from scratch and it is delicious!!!!
Boring... this recipe is for begginers...nice croutons though..lol
