      We think so, always good to lose some weight off the front of the van but so much lighter to manual handle too, win win we think

    Wowzers this is so timely as we are a bit heavy in the front end and are looking at shaving off some weight. Very informative and my wife and I love watching your videos. It’s been very helpful and some what inspiring.

      Thank you, yeh its amazing how quickly the weight can add up, ive always had to be conservative on the front because i can’t afford anymore weight being transferred to the car so every little bit helps.
      Safe travels, reach out anytime

    Its always a trade off. I’ve chosen lithium 12v system with solar, alternator, 15am/240v charging and induction cooking. It keeps the weight down and whilst the capex is high, the run cost are very low. Gas only becomes are requirement for remote base camping.

    • @Ourwhittleadventure
      @Ourwhittleadventure  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeh i do like the idea of being gas free but we arent in that position yet. I did the math, costs us about $700 in gas a year vs the few thousand $ we were looking at into upgrading our electrical offgrid capabilities
      Something to work towards

    I saw these online in the USA a few years back. Nice to see they’ve made it here now. Shame there are no little ones as we plan to carry 2 x 4.5kg cylinders

    Definitely looking into these, trying to keep weights down on our new to us van. We're new to caravanning and have gas fridge, hws and cooking - is that 10-12 days that you'll get out of each bottle, or total for both?

    • @Ourwhittleadventure
      @Ourwhittleadventure  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thats 10 days off each bottle and we are the same, fridge, cooking and HWS
      Thats 10 days completely offgrid.
      We do turn our Hws off when not in use aswell

  • @gregbrady2835

    thanks mate will be looking into these ,do they have a expiration date like the steel ones

    • @Ourwhittleadventure
      @Ourwhittleadventure  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They still need to meet the same requirements for retesting every 10 years but lifespan is supposedly 15 years

  • @hapninemptynesters
    @hapninemptynesters ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Sounds awesome.
    Do they make them in the smaller size (ie 4kg?)

    • @Ourwhittleadventure
      @Ourwhittleadventure  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not that im aware of, the 7.5kg is the smallest at the moment then they have some bigger sizes too.

  • @mattsloan380
    @mattsloan380 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi great vid, do these bottles have an expiry of 10years like your typical steel bottles?

    • @Ourwhittleadventure
      @Ourwhittleadventure  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeh they need to be retested at 10 years same as steel, life expectancy is meant tk be longer though.
      They have to abide by all the same rules and regs as the steel ones

  • @treeman3663
    @treeman3663 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Very important question how often by law are you required to get the bottles tested?? Steel ones every ten years

    • @Ourwhittleadventure
      @Ourwhittleadventure  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Same for these, they are required to meet all the same standards and certifications

    Hey Clem and Mark, thanks for the video. We are looking at picking up our caravan soon and need to invest in purchasing some accessories for it and the bottles are one of them. We were wondering if you still have an affiliation with comgas, know if your discount code still works or know of any discounts codes you can provide?

      @Ourwhittleadventure  15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1
