  • We never even considered leaving them behind when we took off on Our Whittle Adventure around Australia
    So in this video we give you an insight into how we travel with our two Kelpies:
    Kosta - Black/Tan boy - 9 Years old
    Curi - Red Cloud girl - 9 Years old.
    We love to see others travel with their beloved animals, so we hope this might give some reassurance to those who are planning on doing it.
    Enjoy and Safe Travels

    Another great video, good to see that we are not the only people cherishing our dogs. Great tips, love the carabina idea, will get a few.

      The Carabina is probably the best thing we did for managing the dogs!
      Glad you enjoyed it, safe travels!

    So good to see an inside of travel days with dogs. We hope to take off on our adventure soon and taking our 4year old rescue dog of course with us. Every hint of information especially when being in tourist areas and finding dog minders when doing national parks is highly appreciated. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with the rest of the travellers with dogs. Happy travels to your lovely family.

    Just found your video on travelling with your dogs. It was so helpful for us as we are just starting our travelling with our kelpie and our cat. Our kelpie is a bit nervous and not so keen on other dogs or children, so we were worried to see how she would go. It was so helpful to see that your dogs are similar and to see how you coped with travelling with them. Thank you for sharing.

      I think they are loving their new life on the road. Took a little while to adapt to the change but they are happy pups.
      Cheers for watching buddy!

    ive done 2 big aus trips with old mate Blaze the Kelpie ( aka Boofa ) recently, he also loves his camping and fishing :) I purchased a foldable ramp from ebay for old mate so he can get in and out of my landcruiser, wasnt expensive, best thing ever, saves his joints as hes 12 this year. Not blatant spam of my channel, but theres a few episodes on my chan of some travels etc if you ever get bored. Regards, Gleno & Boofa.

    Thank you for sharing this video of a travel day with your dogs. They are really well behaved. Our two Jack Russell’s (both female) are still only pups but will be approx 14 months and 21 months when we take them on their first holiday with us early 2022. They have similar energy levels to Kelpies so watching your routine has really helped me with planning. Unfortunately, both ours have been car sick travelling locally to visit family or the vet. So now I hold off feeding them till after the journey. Perhaps your exercise routine after their meals helps with digestion?

    • @Ourwhittleadventure
      @Ourwhittleadventure  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, we are glad you got something outnof the video!
      Im not sure if it helps their digestion or not, its something we have always done, feed them in the morning then take them for a run, we just tried to keep the same routine when we got on the road.
      If they get car sick its a good call to wait until after, dog vomit isnt fun to clean up from the car!
      Goodluck with your prep! Feel free to reach out if there is something you want to know.
      Regards
      Mark and Clem

    So glad I’ve come across you channel! I’m planning on doing the same soon…just wondering, do you guys find it hard to find places to stay that allow dogs?

    • @Ourwhittleadventure
      @Ourwhittleadventure  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey that’s awesome that you plan on doing the same!
      No we havent had much of an issue at all, it just takes a bit of extra planning, wikicamps is our go to. Filter by dog friendly and its been pretty accurate!

    Hey guys, love your video's and thanks heaps for the tips re: travelling with dogs. Just wondering how you went with visiting National parks? Did you find that having the dogs held you back from visiting many places on your travels?

    • @Ourwhittleadventure
      @Ourwhittleadventure  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, glad it helped! We are planning on doing an updated one now, its been a year since we filmed this one!
      Yes they do obviously restrict you if you want to go to NPs.
      We have managed to do a lot that we wanted by either, kennel, fellow travellers that we take turns dog sitting with, we sometimes just take it in turns ourself or luckily enough we have friends around the country that have looked after them on some occassions too

      Very puppy like i imagine! We are lucky that we have done a lot of travels and camping trips with ours in the past, it didnt take them too long to fall into rythm with us

    Can you keep your dogs inside the caravan when you go on hikes inside national parks? Do they allow dogs inside caravan or not at all?

    • @Ourwhittleadventure
      @Ourwhittleadventure  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nah you can’t even have them in the vehicle inside a national park, we stay outside the park so we can leave them in the van or we take it in turns
