    A lot of fun to be in a SXS concentrated event. Eye candy everywhere! It was awesome to be able to meet Robby Gordon, Nick at Chupacabra, Jason at RPM, really cool genuine guys, with fantastic teams. I think about 50% of the pro-R’s that exist were at this event!

    Robby and Todd have been nothing but completely honest throughout this entire process. It takes a lot of trust in both parties to take peoples deposits years in advance with little more than your reputation that you’ll deliver a quality off-road vehicle that they’ll be happy with.
    Very excited to see how these vehicles are going to perform over the upcoming desert season!

    It doesn’t shift like the yxz at all. It’s just a ratcheting trans selector. You can with care switch transmission ranges while moving. It’s a CVT with up to 3 gear ranges.

    I hope what ever went wrong doesnt mean an extra 6 or more months for production.
    I got the blue rg diablo with the bare aluminum rims.
    Im relieved it was a non factory junk weld.
    Thought about the black rims but i figured the scratches would stand out way more.

    I give him credit for taking the licks like a man and putting it front and center for people to see obviously it’s a pre production car and he knew if anything failed he would hear about it even though what broke isn’t and issue with production cars. After owning a xx one thing I can say is the rear arm isn’t a problem they’ll take a lot of abuse. the racing they did with the xx proved that the trailing arm was the least of their problems, racing it also proved how good that suspension worked Max was hauling ass when the xx was holding together. Biggest thing is there’s nothing proving the production cars to be reliable with time and content hopefully they hold up.

    • @slynn5138
      @slynn5138 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn’t say there’s nothing to say that they won’t hold up. Robby and his entire team have extensively tested the vehicle in a variety of conditions and there’s a lot of solidified engineering that happens in the design phase. Additionally, there’s very few people with the off-road experience Robby has. Both as a driver and as a builder.

      Neither you or the people commenting on your comment know anything about suspension design. Trailing arm suspension is wicked old school tech. It's still actually used today in ALL buggy classes in offroad It's extremely strong and reliable. It's far superior handing wise to traditional radius arm suspension that's on basically all other UTVs. It's much more stable and you don't get that jacking during the turns. You don't have any scrub at all. The only draw back is axle plunge. This design requires the axle to plunge way more than a radius rod linked suspension. Speed has axle shafts that accommodate for that plunge. I haven't heard of any axle issues. Mater of fact, the one axle held up even with the trailing arm ripped off. It's kind of frustrating to hear people so confidently talking about subjects they really don't know much about. Reminds me of the Jeep scene.

    Absolute bullshit of an excuse lol! Why on earth would you take a car out there and do jumps with a car with a 110 weld?? Why would you even do that in the first place? Lol

    • @AMetalWorks
      @AMetalWorks 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because these guys are racers first. That's not uncommon within that group of people. Fix it even if it's not fixed well and rip it. The weld didn't fail on the jump that was failing well before the jump. It actually snapped off on the ramp but you can see the camber increase little by little as he drove around before that.
      This was a preproduction car used for extensive testing. They beat on it. Broke it a number of times and repaired it a number of time. It was something they used to find the weak points. I'm 100% sure they slapped on a trash weld like he said. This is based off the pictures of the rusted bugger welded bracket after it broke at the show. These guys are field testing and need to do repairs out of their chase trucks and his home garage. There has been numerous videos showing them working out of that garage during the times when they were testing the car and putting on the required miles to meet legal requirements. Will it still be an issue on production cars? Who knows. That would be the least of my concerns though. The reliability of the drivetrian would be my biggest concern. Making that mount stronger is a super easy. If that's their biggest issue, that would be a massive win for them. However we'll have to wait and see how reliable the cars truly are. Chassis and suspension wise these cars are next level. With some small mods this is a ready to go race car chassis. No other manufacturer brings that to the table. The cage is designed correctly! Again no other manufacturer brings that to the table. The interchangeable suspension components is next level awesome. People can hate on their effort. That fine. And maybe this car never lives up to the hype drivetrian wise but the platform is 100% better than anything else on the market design wise.

    • @vinnieortega
      @vinnieortega 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AMetalWorks nah I don't buy it. With all the hype and all the backlash for not delivering a product and people waiting 3 years you would think they would bring out the most solid car they can build especially if you're doing jumps in front of a crowd. I applaud the effort and if I was rich I'd probably buy one but I think they're in way over their heads.

      @@vinnieortega Nobody has been waiting 3 years. These cars were presented as a concept 3 yrs ago at Sand Sports. The car as it sits is far better than what was presented back then. From concept to complete vehicle in 3 yrs is a massive accomplishment. Anyone who decided they didn't want to wait has been able to make money on selling their deposit.
