I said this in Gamexplain's video, but I'm also posting it here to have other's opinions. After watching the new trailer, I feel Nintendo made a big mistake with this game: making it for the current Switch instead of its successor. Let me explain why: in the last three years, Nintendo has BOMBARDED Switch of every possible game of almost all of their biggest franchises, and it will take a really long time for the next entries to come on the successor (to say: The creators of Xenoblade are still hiring people for the next project, news of today). As of now, for its launch year, the next console can count only on the new 3D Mario game and maybe on the next Mario Kart, which is very little for a launch year. Echoes of Wisdom is basically the Breath of the Wild of 2D Zeldas, could have been a great system seller for the new console, perhaps not as big as BOTW or TOTK, but could have moved the console a lot altogether with the new 3D Mario, but instead they kept on the current one, taking value from it. At least this is how I see it...
The map is definitely bigger than A Link to the Past, but I don't think it is much bigger than twice the size. ALTTP already had a quite big map for its time. *edit* But it also depends on how much you can explore the places inside the rift. If it is as big as the dark world from ALTTP then the map is really huge.
This game looks like a whole new LOZ game and I’m very excited. I hope for a couple things if this game is a success (which it’s gunna). I hope it leads to a Zelda centric game in style of OOT or Twilight Princess with a more serious tone. I also hope it leads to a game where you play as both Zelda and Link in a BOTW/TOTK epic. Both with unique skill sets that fully complement one another. It’s time for Zelda to truly come forward as a character that has her fate determined by herself than relying on the chap in the green tunic every time. Thanks for the vid!
It won't be serious at all after all the trailers showing an explicitly cartoonish world with very adorable-looking characters and a very childish tone.
I don't think Zelda is 'Wanted' I think what is actually happening, is that she wants to go on an adventure to save Link, however the Guards won't allow her to go outside of the walls due to the chaos of the rifts. So I am think she uses the costumes as a means to slip away from the guards, and finally the posters are more of a 'Missing' poster rather then a 'Wanted' poster, just due to the fact that she had 2 guards approach her without any aggression at the title reveal scene.
I just hope my mother likes this Zelda, she didn't like BOTW and TOTK, which is sad because she has been playing Zelda since the original Link's Awakening so I hope I'll be able to share the experience of this one with her.

Two different timelines, but it looks like it could take place in either the downfall or child timeline. After the region names. I'm leaning towards the child timeline due to TP.
It could even take place before The Minish Cap considering the appearance of _Eldin Volcano_ from Skyward Sword meaning its placement could literally be anywhere aside from the Adult Timeline.
@@LittleAl016 Except Nintendo has never _confirmed_ wether the Ganondorf from Ocarina of Time is the literal *first* to have ever existed in the timeline making it possible for a past Ganondorf to have been born _before_ the events of The Minish Cap took place.

Don't forget that they have Metroid Prime 4 set to release in 2025. It will probably be a cross platform game to help introduce the Switch2.
Was that hot spring water on Death Mountain?
It won't be serious at all after all the trailers showing an explicitly cartoonish world with very adorable-looking characters and a very childish tone.
its basically links awakening + totk.. smh
What are the rest of the Zelda games in the future?
Stand next to me. Right by my side
Im so hyped!!
I just hope my mother likes this Zelda, she didn't like BOTW and TOTK, which is sad because she has been playing Zelda since the original Link's Awakening so I hope I'll be able to share the experience of this one with her.
I don’t know how to explain it, but “smoothie shops” are the least Zelda thing to ever appear in a Zelda game.
They are just potion shops with the most anti-"medieval fantasy" branding imaginable.
@@ChaosKnight7000 - I even thought changing “potions” to “elixirs” in _BOTW_ was disappointing… what’s next, Sheikah Slate apps?
@@Sam_T2000 Technically that did happen in breath of the wild just not called apps
@@JohnnyYeTaecanUktena - yea… but if you wanted you could chalk that up to the video game UI, rather than in-universe lore… but really, it’s about branding 🤷🏻♂️
@@Sam_T2000 Even the pad in tears?
A fun 2D Zelda spin-off. I'm excited for this game, but if this is where 2D Zelda is headed, we've lost something very special.
wooo just watched that new trailers..
hot damn looks awesome, there is no link!!!!
i really hope the ESRB is wrong.
I do not understand at all why people keep thinking the first horse is Epona. It's brown with a black mane and tail, Epona is red with a SUPER WHITE mane and tail. Like, in BOTW and TOTK, you could get horses with creamy white mane and tail, but if you got Epona from an Amiibo she basically glowed. No way this horse is Epona at all.
But I am super hype for the game XDD I already preordered it the day of the first trailer....xD
Sea Zora, Goron, Gerudo and Deku are back. So does this take place between OoT and ALttP?
Two different timelines, but it looks like it could take place in either the downfall or child timeline.
After the region names. I'm leaning towards the child timeline due to TP.
It could even take place before The Minish Cap considering the appearance of _Eldin Volcano_ from Skyward Sword meaning its placement could literally be anywhere aside from the Adult Timeline.
@@javiervasquez625 Ganon literally exists. Making placing this before Minish Cap impossible.
@@LittleAl016 Except Nintendo has never _confirmed_ wether the Ganondorf from Ocarina of Time is the literal *first* to have ever existed in the timeline making it possible for a past Ganondorf to have been born _before_ the events of The Minish Cap took place.
@@javiervasquez625 Based on the order of events, the only such "past Ganondorf" that exists is outright Demise. Not to mention, the Sacred Realm was outright closed off once the Sealed Temple was renovated into OoT's Temple of Time.
its a fairy up flower
Gorons in this art style > anything else ever
imagine if they called it legend of link.
It only took 30 years for a Zelda in Zelda game but better late then never
Spirit Tracks in the corner: Am i a joke to you...? 🥺.
ultrahand 2.0 -_- another overpowered ability
While I am excited for this game, I hope Nintendo hasn’t forgotten two important things that is a part of her character: her Bow of Light, her intellect (due to being a scholar) and her divine powers of light (since she carries the blood of the goddess Hylia). 🏹 🧠 ☀️
I hope they don’t make every 2d Zelda game this art style. I like the art style but it would be lazy to make every Zelda game do that.
Not all Zeldas are Scholars
@@godly_potatoe69xd19 To be fair it's a series made for kids and all so if the art style is popular for kids then no reason not to. Though knowing Nintendo they would change it up eventually despite a lot of people saying "If it's not broke don't fix it" as they need to not stagnate unlike CoD or Battlefield series
@@JohnnyYeTaecanUktena the art style isn’t bad, I’m just saying they don’t need to all have the same art style, making every 2d Zelda, remakes and new games be the same art style just abandons the whole spirit of the series and being a different mood every time
@@godly_potatoe69xd19 Honestly for remakes it is a fine art style as it really would fit the Oracle games just like it did for Link's Awakening. Then again Link's Awakening took place in a dream world so the art style made perfect sense for that one
I hope we get some gritty and dark traditional zelda games like alttp and majoras mask and ocarina of time in the future.
People like you are tedious.
Is it a wanted poster, or is it a missing persons poster?
Why is everyone calling this game 2D? It’s obviously modled in 3D?
Smoody
This game doesn't put the character names on the dialog.
Just because it doesn't happen in the _trailer_ (spoilers are a thing) doesn't mean it won't in the actual game.
A keese*
I'm so checked out after Totk. This looks awful. Just clicked to give you the view man. Bless you.

what is the song playing at 4:30 ? I feel like I should know this..
13:34 is that a male gerudo?? That looked like a beard
Good spot!
It's just the face mask the gerudo wear
@@virusklaxsosaur4054 I got a better look at it. It is actually a hand. She is thinking
@@ShepherdsCreek When the camera pulls away, they look like a Gerudo woman. But when the camera rests on them, including just before, they look like a sort of Eastern gentleman. I was assuming when you first commented that it was some sort of visiting diplomat, but then the commentary said something about wizards? No problem if it's just a quirk of the camera angle, though.
This game will be broken day 1
I hope we get to see some cool players creations and improv like we see with ZONAITE stuff..
I am not a fan of the sandbox style. I hate having all the items at once. I prefer progressing through the story and getting stronger. The gameplay doesn't grab my attention but i do love the map and possibly better lore. Hopefully it turns out to be good.
Where are the rito?
Not around as this game does not seem to be connected to the Era of the Wild. For all we know this game takes place in either the Child or Downfall timelines where the Rito never appear.
The only thing I'm asking for is a controlled pacing, reasonable difficulty and progressively more complicated puzzles... but the whole Ultrahand 2 and the binding is killing those expectations, I won't be buying this day one but I'm still interested on how this turns out.
Edit: Looking at the quests on [ 4:39 ]... I don't think I'll like this game, they COULD make it have a good story and somewhat of a controlled pacing taking what they learned in A link Between Worlds but, that's being too optimistic, I genuinely hope I'm wrong and the game is actually pretty good but, I don't have high hopes, to me being "Free to solve anything the way I want" is such a boring concept, everyone will just use the most convenient, cost efficient and reliable way to solve a puzzle, look at the hoverbike or the ultrahand+recall+ascend combo to solve shrines, or rocket shields, I'm not saying they're bad games, even if I have very reasonable complaints with the wild era Zelda experiences and they're clearly not for me, I had hopes for the 2d zelda format to keep the tradition of complex dungeons and engaging puzzles with an interesting progression of story.
I’m sorry if the modern game design has left you feeling somewhat alienated. I’m more ambivalent, because I like the new style in its own way.
But I still feel that sense of loss along with you, as I was such a passionate fan of the pre-BotW style. In the end, money talks and the sales figures for BotW and TotK have consequences. Aonuma talks a good game about believing in the new philosophy, but I doubt he would be allowed to say anything else and retain his position at Nintendo.
@@KittysCat-j7x don't apologize. Dude is a salty loser
I need dungeons. No, I crave them.
No it didn't. It's been the same size nearly the whole time. Clickbait
Ngl but I kind of hate this game. I love the Legend of Zelda series, and I always wanted for Zelda to star in her own game (CDI games don't count lol). I had always hope and a more serious toned game where Zelda has to save Link and the world. A game where we could see Zelda being a strong ad wise badass that we all know that she could be but instead we get this. I'm sure the game will be fine but I'm little disappointed. Am I the only one who feels this way?
What makes you feel she won't be badass and strong though? Is it the cute cartoony style?
@@JD-xd4sy That and just the overall feel of the gameplay they showed. I guess I'm just wanting a Twilight Princess/Breath of the Wild tone Zelda game.
If this game is a success, your more serious toned Zelda game will eventually come.
@@mrgee8713 Or they'll simply double down on the cartoony approach after it sold millions of units without ever backtracking to what oldschool fans enjoyed during the Classic 3D Era.
@@adamvillegas5040 I loved Twilight Princess for sure, but also appreciate the cartoony style when it comes to ”2D” Zelda. I’m personally more concerned about sandbox non linearity, that it will be too much like BotW and TotK - because it takes away from some of the storybuilding - and if this game doesn’t feature real dungeons I’m pissed!
Great, a bunch of recycled TOTK stuff, the same map and races as always, and more cooking
So disappointed in the art style and gameplay. Looks utterly asinine.
