I remember torrenting the entire Silent Hill 2 soundtrack years ago. I was obsessed with Akira Yamaoka. (Still am!) I put it on shuffle and went about my chores.
Had to do a Max Payne-style dive to my PC because what I had downloaded included as a "bonus track" the clean, unedited audio of the video James watches in the hotel. So I was blasting that to my neighbours at lunchtime.
What a hilarious anecdote! Did your neighbors look at you funny afterwards? So funny that you had to decide to leave the country? ^^
It didn't help that my girlfriend at the time had just moved back to Japan, so she suddenly wasn't around any more! @@SurvivalSpheres

I’ve never played a silent Hill game. I’ve watched videos on it, Play through and essays on it but have never had the time to sit down and play one. When I do. And I DEFINITELY plan on playing one. And maybe I’ll come back to this video and see why people love it so much

I totally think that you can grab the main vibe and elegance of SH from just watching. However, there's something else that only comes from playing. The desperation and loneliness, especially if you play at night and alone. Not sure if I will ever do that again, but I'm glad I did before. So good luck, and looking forward to see you back whenever time is right.

Gotta say, this one feels like it belongs (or rather inspired) from Silent Hill 1, had an in-game picture of it was used for the thumbnail. It's just so eerie, but calming and simple that reminded me of tracks like Infinite Tunnel and Life from the first game.
Anyway, you've been killing it with these inspired music from Silent Hill and Resident Evil recently! As always, keep up the good work!

this gives me vibes of astral projection. I would like to think shes right next to him with her arm around next him. It's like shes saying "its ok love we will have our eternal peace in the next life". What a beautiful piece my friend. Such serenity and bliss aura surrounds this soul.
This comment and the video inspired me to think about the Bjork stalker. A lonely man that had been left for years to delve into another world, that world being his escapist fantasies. He had no record of being abused that we know of, but it seems he was plagued by feelings of inadequacy, and a fundamental hollowness in himself about who he was, he couldn't love himself, he probably did accept a lot of negativity from the world around him, after all, he lived in our narcissistic culture that idealizes success and makes monsters of weakness that will not accept itself. He was in a sick way, a little reflective of the world at large's insecurities. Only, magnified -- he went on to plan to kill Bjork, still in his delusional world, where he thought he would be "reunited with her in heaven". Interestingly of all, he said he was sending her to hell. Maybe he thought they would end up in different places.
How does it relate to the video? Well, in silent hill we have a similarly broken protagonist. He killed her, in the end, that's why he's in silent hill, he's in a purgatory in some senses, maybe because of guilt, maybe he is, in a literal sense, dead, it could be interpreted many ways. But he is not what I'd call a romantic character, he is a murderer.
@@EveryTimeV2 I've never heard of Björk's stalker before, but after parevek's comment mentioning "...in the next life" and your sentence "Maybe he thought they would end up in different places." I suddenly felt the creeps. There was a faint memory, almost forgotten, that hit me with great force. In Silent Hill 2, there's this message in Neely's bar, reading which increases the chance to get the "In Water" ending. It says:
"If you ReaLly want to sEE Mary, you shOUld just DiE. But You might be hEadiNg to A diffErent place than MARY, James."

I really wish there was a 10 hour cut of this track for me to put on to fall asleep to. I’m having some PTSD problems right now and this song is helping me.

Is good. It's hard to put into words but it makes me really think as though I'm mary in a hospital with the little drips of water from the IV and other ambience. I think of the time ticking away and for some reason I feel grateful that even through all the pain atleast I have a comfortable bed to lay in and rest.
