They would.make more money. Motor trends decision to move the videos was purely a management bonus play. I love David and Mike. Truly the next duo to the car gods. Notor trend is the worse thing that could of happened. They would of blown up so hard when all the other shows did. Stupid managers. Always the board and managers
In the beginning you could tell David didn't have much patience for him, I know they go way way back, even then on an introductory episode David admitted when he first met Steve he was immediately annoyed. Apparently, David was on the phone. Steve came into his office and sat down and picked up a model car on his desk. I'm glad they are still working together and turning out good entertainment.
I learned that lesson the hard way. I was replacing the suspension on my BMW with my dad and he slid a piece of plywood toward me and it took my big toenail right off.
I've said it before and I'll say it again it never ceases to amaze me seemingly no matter how long these old rigs sit with a little TLC the come right back around. Very Cool 👍👍👍
Watching the entire video, all I could think about was that it was obviously very cold judging by the sweatshirts and heavy coats. But, shorts and flip flops?? Well at least you get points for getting it running. First time watching Road Kill. Will I watch more?? Probably
Thats an amazing find. In the Northeast YJs are getting few and far between on the road and I think I've seen maybe 3 or 4 CJs on the road all year. F-ing road salt!
There's nothing better than wrenching on your vehicle with OSHA approved flip flops!! 😂😂 I've always enjoyed these 2 guys! Thanks for another great video!!
Frieburger my grandfather was a ww2 vet d day +4 he went from Normandy to Berlin with a stop at the bulge and he said the jeep was their life line and without it millions of lives would be lost and he said they called it a jeep because of the cartoon character he never said anything about gpw I think that was the brass wanting to take credit for something the enlisted men invented.
I still remember driving past the Brew 102 plant when I was a kid. Grew up in Tustin, CA and went to military school in San Marino, CA. BTW the same school the Smothers Brothers went to.
I agree with Freiburger about the name origin of Jeep. The first mention of it being called a Jeep was by Irving Red Hausmann when a representative of the Washington Daily News, in a February 20th 1941 article (same article that published the famous photo of the Willys being driven up the capital steps), journalist Katherine Hillyer asked Hausmann "what do you call it?" His response was "it's a Jeep". Hausmann also added that the Jeep name was an internal name at Willys-Overland coming from the Popeye cartoon charecter Eugene the Jeep. Ford didn't get the GPW contract and start building the "Jeep" until October 1941 so that puts the Jeep name coming from Ford out of question. Officially the vehicle was called a "Quad" at WO during development.
I enjoyed this so much I had to watch it clear through twice and then go back to certain parts to check out about the "Jeep" character...looked him up up on Wikipedia...interesting story...and then go back and look at Steve's banded right hand and left wrist...Great Video...this might be my favorite Dulcich/Freiburger video...
We could use on of these in Rio Verde, Az. Requesting first right of refusal, should you decide to part ways....how cool. My first vehicle, a 46 cj2a. OoWeeee!
Jeep= just enough essential parts. US army# all troops that were under 5 feet tall knew about this. If you have ever had the luxury to drive one of these old school Willy's you know that anyone close to 6 feet tall can't drive one. I've had a few of them over the years and I enjoy them. In the process of restoring a original Ford tub. It's taking me years to find one like my Grandpa's. Looking forward to the first time I get to drive it out of the garage.
Don't forget that there was a Minneopolis Moline UTX Jeep first that was named from the Popeye cartoon. It was tested at Camp Ripley in 1940. I think Freiburger should get one.
I wondered what sort of engine would fit under that short hood. I know that Australian Army repowered some of theirs with the small block 6 out of the Ford Falcon in the 1960s. Jeep lengthened the hood later to fit their own 6 cylinder engine
You see this Jeep in a junkyard. How do you react?
-No chance this runs
-I could fix it
No chance
I could fix it
Back on tha road in a month, pass tha gaffa tape n hold my beer👍
Both and then get kicked out by the wife cause you spent holyday's money on a MINT piece of junk.
I really wish they would come back to TH-cam and put full videos back out
Dirt Every Day needs to be brought back
Don’t be cheap. Pay the $4 so they can continue making the vids that we love.

@@guffinator70it's not 4 dollars. It's 20 a month now. 4 was the introductory offer when it first started.
Friedburger sold out to the man.
Dulcich is a joy to watch. Old-timey, hippy-farmer, genius-mechanic, wry-humorist and good pal. What is not to love?

Well said!
Yep, best character of the bunch.
David still acts annoyed by him but it's good chemistry and Steve is a treasure. @@fluffpantss
From the waist up, Artic Tundra. From the waist down, So Cal. Hilarious.
It's always fun watching Dave just get adorably hyped about old Jeeps.
This Jeep is PERFECT just the way it is. Very cool.
That thing is absolutely awesome as is. The glitter in the switches is where the magic comes from.
It's always fun watching Dave just get adorably hyped about old Jeeps.. This Jeep is PERFECT just the way it is. Very cool..
Patch em up and keep em as original as possible 👌
The fact David still has all his toes amazes me
I learned that lesson the hard way. I was replacing the suspension on my BMW with my dad and he slid a piece of plywood toward me and it took my big toenail right off.

Simple and basic mechanics, once you understand the fundamentals, line them all up and watch it fly.
If they are sitting with old gasoline its usually fine, its the new ethanol gas that'll ruin stuff from what i've seen, lines, tanks ect,ect
I've always thought JEEP was an acronym for Just Enough Essential Parts because back in the day that's all there was to it.
Anyone else notice the flex at 11:46 Maybe optical illusion. Great Geep
My favorite show please bring it back.. we All want it back ASAP... Best team ever... Just do it already..
Love that jeep. Total mad max vibes
You're darn Skippy it'll run. It has a Small Block Chevy in it!!! Fuel, Spark, and a functional Starter is ALL it will take. WORD-
It's so cool to see vintage on the road. (or off) 👍
Watching the entire video, all I could think about was that it was obviously very cold judging by the sweatshirts and heavy coats. But, shorts and flip flops?? Well at least you get points for getting it running. First time watching Road Kill. Will I watch more?? Probably
😂 didn't notice the shorts/flops combo. Good spot LOL
Thats an amazing find. In the Northeast YJs are getting few and far between on the road and I think I've seen maybe 3 or 4 CJs on the road all year. F-ing road salt!
It would be awesome to have these guys doing roadkill again on utube fulltime .
Still enjoyed this episode tho 🤘
How can you not love that bumper on an off road or that bumper is awesome
I like the , get it running & driving philosophy 💯
You 2 make me lamo everytime , good job road killers !
Freiberger with his flip flops in the winter,...what a true Californian!!
There's nothing better than wrenching on your vehicle with OSHA approved flip flops!! 😂😂
I've always enjoyed these 2 guys! Thanks for another great video!!
did you put the 8065 in mikebrown8065?
I hope we see more of this jeep in the future

These guys have fun with the nastiest projects. We should all find that much enjoyment...
I still remember driving past the Brew 102 plant when I was a kid. Grew up in Tustin, CA and went to military school in San Marino, CA. BTW the same school the Smothers Brothers went to.
This is the coolest jeep I think ive ever seen
I’d love to see more of this jeep! How do you deal with vapor lock? Where is your battery? Does the overdrive work? Can you show the locker install?
4:34 oh noooo the adjustable wrench haha. Love the Jeep though, I'd run it just like that. looks awesome

Those early flat fenders had an 80 in. wheelbase. In comparison, the Wrangler 2 door has a 94. Those flatties were tiny!
I love the work you guys put OUT
Great episode, by the way I would describe your look as “donation bin raiders” !
Candidate for Ultimate Adventure I think!
Love it! Looks like the motor out of Jeepers Creepers!😆
I love the slippers jean shorts and Carhartt coat look😅
You should keep the Jeep forever Steve its pretty badass!
I love the bumpers.
Rick pewe would love it!
😂😂😂 that thing looks pretty cool looks like my lifted up go-kart
Loved seeing you guys in riverton wyoming a few weeks back!! Keep up the good work
Looks like an approved 'workshop bandage' on Dulcich's wrist halfway through: Masking tape (and if you're fancy) paper shop towel.
Dulcich, Friend visit a Barber, your on T V, Steve! Thanks for the content!
That’s gotta be the most Jeepers Creepers mobile of Jeeps I’ve ever seen.
Id prefer brakes over seatbelts as 1st choice
Don't make it right, just make it run!
Wish they’d bring it back to TH-cam and full videos
Super cool Jeep!
I love that Jeep
Eugene the jeep bounced around a lot, G I’s riding in the GPW starting feeling like Eugene ,, hence “JEEP” 😉🇺🇸
JEEP Just Enough Extra Parts😂
We could use on of these in Rio Verde, Az. Requesting first right of refusal, should you decide to part ways....how cool. My first vehicle, a 46 cj2a. OoWeeee!
Sure that was overdrive? CJ-2s have a two stick transfer case. Our CJ-5 with a Warn overdrive has two tall sticks, and a combined short transfer case.
I truly think you're right on jeeps name
all leaf spring jeeps are really good stockish
Steve is my hero

When I saw the hooded Carhartt jacket, I thought, "surely he's not wearing flip flops." Nope, I was wrong.
lol they changed the oil and installed a drive shaft.. Exciting stuff here folks.

*Can we take a moment to appreciate how much work he puts into these videos for us 😍*
Who?

I see this comment on literally every TH-cam video.
That's a lot of monents...
Jeep stands for Just. Empty. Every. Pocket.
Jeep= Just Empty Every Pocket 😁
That's a DJ Dispatcher, '55-'64, which is part of the CJ-3A family
Will it run. Ha. Riiiight. Starts first turn.
Brew 102 was a non-alcoholic beer.
Just Enough Essential Parts.
Shorten the engine side of the top hose to reduce air pocket ! ! ! It's higher than the top rad tank ! ! !
Man that thing looks like something I drew up in first grade
Love it !
You road kill guys should get an old style cab over semi truck and have your way and funeral with it and call it international prime
My god guys...parka's and shorts? Put some pants on! David, you keep the flip flops on though...lol
5:25 dirty filter
5:28 clean filter 😂😂
I want the storage tube bumper!! What size was the tubing on it? I am going to see if my buddy can custom fab one for my 2013 JKU
Freiburger shows up and tells Steve what they're going to do with STEVE'S jeep lol this guy's ego sometimes
It's very Granville King.
That's like, doomsday prepper approved! lol
Don't forget that there was a Minneopolis Moline UTX Jeep first that was named from the Popeye cartoon. It was tested at Camp Ripley in 1940. I think Freiburger should get one.
I have a '53 like that .. flathead 4 banger .. all stock and in line for the shop
i like that jeep as is. all vehicles one piece windshield.
You can see their breath and this cool dude is wearing flip flops !!!!
I need some steel belted flip flops with a bottle opener 😂
It’s not a Roadkill build if the passenger door latches shut.

Nice video.
Eff the seatbelts...We Die Like Men!!! ('49 CJ3A owner)

Dulcich move to Newfoundland? The mud isn't even frozen............... 😆
I was always told Eugene the Jeep was where the Jeep name came from.
that is awesome
What river did you pull that out of!?!?!🤣
J.E.E.P. just enough essential parts
They call it a Jeep because to fix it up, you Just Empty Every Pocket!
I would daily drive that
so good :)
Why did the oil filter come out from under the jeep with WAY less oil and goop on it? Just made me question a lot things here
Saw that too.
Wouldn’t u put a fresh oil n fuel filter in bfO trying to start it? I would 👍
