Question: In forward gear does the motor tilt lock disengage? Or do you have to manually turn the tilt lock off? So if you hit something the motor will swing upward to avoid damage? And in reverse gear does the tilt lock automatically lock? So when you give it speed in reverse the motor wont swing upward? Mine doesn't automatically do this. Have to use the red lever to do it manually.
I have the 25hp version of this motor. It does take 4 or 5 pulls when cold. When hot it takes 2 pulls. It is hard to pull just a warning to someone who isnt strong, get the electric start model :)
If you install new fuel injectors (very easy job, just two 10mm bolts) you motor will start first or second pull. I had same problem with my 20hp EFI. Always took 4 pulls. So frustrating. After replacement, started great.

not true, tohatsu share the powerhead but build quality is not the same as mercury, look at the tiller etc, thats not available on the tohatsu so clearly wrong

That is the start of the electric fuel injection system, when it starts if it doesn’t turn off then something is up, nice so that you don’t do more damage than what could have happened
The light is just as a test of the warning systems. When the oil pressure builds up it turns off. I have a 2017 15 hp with a carburetor. It does the same thing so nothing to do with the fuel injection system.
Hey, what size boat are you on? I have a 12 foot/3.6 meter Starcraft that is rated up to 10hp... but I'm thinking of ignoring. You think a 12 foot could handle the 99lbs/45kg

Im putting this motor on a 3.3 m inflatable dingy you think it will be to much for it ?

mercury engines are total junk. the worst out there. but you are in luck, buddy. you do not own one. yours is a tohatsu. and tohatsu rocks......

Ju I went with 15 because it is the largest Hp motor I can get for my boat, hopefully the video helped, great motor so rely able

Your motor will last longer if you warm it up for a few moments on initial startup
