Have always been a fan of Georff & now this video like was said 'his hard work'. he just out performed the best, himself. Love love, Completely Love...
This song is a GREAT showcase of Geoff's absurdly large range! You can't go wrong with any of his solo work, it's just that some of them are better at demonstrating just how versatile his voice is. My personal favorite (tied now with this one) is Ain't No Sunshine, which I highly recommend you check out.
Nightmare Before Christmas is a 1993 Tim Burton movie. Geoff played Jack Skellington, the leader of Halloween Town. The gist is that Jack gets bored and wants leaves to find excitement. Along the way he finds Christmas Town. And then wants know everything about it. So he has Oogie Boogie's 3 minions, Lock, Shock and Barrel kidnap Santa Claus. But instead of taking Sandy Claws to Jack they take him to Oogie Boogie. That's where the Oogie Boogie song comes in. Jack finds out who saves Santa and kills Oogie Boogie. The little dog ghost is Zero, Jack's dog. In The Oogie Boogie song Voiceplay did Layne was Zero. Other Voiceplay Nightmare Before Christmas videos... Kidnap The Sandy Claws and This Is Halloween. Kidnap is the minions plotting on how to get Santa. This Is Halloween in the movie is several of the characters in Halloween town singing the song. In the Voiceplay version the guys are turning into monsters while singing the song. The snow at the end of Geoff's video isn't in the movie but he and kathy felt it fit the meaning and giving "Jack" hope. I personally have never seen the movie cause I don't like stop animation. I just know snippets here and there.
It's another song from The Nightnare Before Christmas, that VoicePlay have covered a lot of in the past: Oogie Boogie's Song, This is Halloween, What's That? and Kidnap the Sandy Claws.
If you ever get around to watching The Nightmare Before Christmas (which is a masterpiece of stop-motion animation and well worth a watch in its own right,) come back after and watch this video again all the way to the end. You missed the loveliest part, but it wouldn't hit the same way if you're unfamiliar with the movie.
This song is from "The Nightmare before Christmas" movie (I recommend watching it) in order the songs (in the movie) VP and Geoff have done from would be "This is Halloween", "Jack's Lament"," What's This?" "Kidnap The Sandy Claws" and "Oogie Boogie Song". Only a couple left they haven't covered.
Pausing before we continue to the song but you have to check out Nightmare Before Christmas, it's an amazing film and where a lot of VP's covers come from Oogie Boogie's song, This Is Halloween etc

He said he looked at what's this? before doing this one just to see if it would tell him what the story was.

the spookiest part is how the piano keeps playing when 'Jack' isn't touching it lol
Hahahaha

The jump scare gets me every time I’ve watched it. His name is Jack Skellington
Me too. Only Geoff and my daughter has been able to jump scare me in all my 64 years.

You stopped it too soon. You missed the ending which included some behind the scenes shots.
Silly me, sorry
