Somebody call Tim Burton and tell him we found the lead for the remake, a live version of Nightmare Before Christmas. But Geoff has to keep his hair. 😂❤ 🎃💀

Geoff said that this was a challenge to his acting skills and vocal acrobatics. Geoff and Kathy did a great job with the set. Most of it is from their home and yard decor. Kathy told us in the BTS video that Geoff used this as an excuse to buy more single pumpkins, the pumpkin tower, the spooky trees, more headstones, graveyard fencing, and even the Moon. They did fill in with some things that PattyCake had on hand like the pillars and Haunted Mansion things. Rick Underwood did his makeup magic. Kathy found the costume pieces for Geoff to choose from. I think this is the only video in which Geoff isn't wearing his rings or the necklace that Kathy gave him because of the makeup.

We all know what Geoff can do, but it never fails to amaze and delight us...

Geoff is phenomenal. Extremely talented in everything he does.
It took him and Kathy 4 days to set up, break down, dress his costume, get them makeup on and film. Usually it's only a day or two.
Voiceplay also did a jump scare in their videos Hide and Seek, Once Upon A Dream.

If you watch his hand motions, his walk, you'll see there are no interruptions. That high/low shift was real. I'm not comparing myself to Geoff (that would be like comparing single A ball to the Major Leagues) but I sing bass in theater. For me, the downshift is actually quite easy, as relaxing the vocal chords after stretching up for a high note helps me to his lower ranges more accurately. I'm more floored when he goes from low to high...accurately and perfectly on key. The man belongs on Broadway...in movies...any larger stage. And please, take VoicePlay with you! All of them are absolutely brilliant.

FYI: Geoff is lip-synching to his studio recording when he's filming his videos. So while the video may not show any cuts, the recording itself can have all kinds of cuts in it - you'll never hear them with today's equipment. I don't have any doubts that Geoff can indeed do the high/low shift IRL, however I would certainly guess that Geoff records his lowest notes in takes done early in the morning (so-called "morning voice"), and the other portions of his recording may be done in the same or multiple sessions - without actually sitting in on the recording session(s) (or until Geoff tells us otherwise), we have no way to know.

This man should be on Broadway. Perfect song for a perfect singer--and it's not just his bass anymore either. Eli better watch his back. LOL If he (or VoicePlay) doesn't get to do a whole Disney movie soundtrack soon I'm going to start a petition. I agree with Lyle at Patrol Gaming. You just run out of adjectives after a while and I'm not sure what comes after god level.

Thank you for your nice reaction again! - I just want to throw in my two cents concerning audio/video production.
Of course the music (in every music video) is prerecorded. And to get the "perfect production" you normally use layers, you don't sing the song once/in one take from beginning to the end. That is simply how it works and completely normal. So I'm pretty sure that for the audio recording Geoff didn't sing the high parts and the low parts in the same recording session, BUT: You know (and sometimes get the proof by Geoffs social media postings from his home studio) that he CAN sing low/high/low range in one take. But to get the best and finest audio possible, you do it one part after another for the recording.
BTW: The same goes for the Voiceplay videos. Of course they use layers of some vocals and the beatboxing. Think of the last video "Hellfire" where you can hear Geoff singing AND doing a baseline at the same time. And Layne's beatboxing, too, has multiple layers to gain a much bigger sound and percussion variety.
Effects are also commonly used in post-production (think of "7 Nation Army" or "In The Air Tonight"). You do this for the music recording, just because it sounds better. To clear that up: That is no cheating or something. And it is still "acapella", every sound is made by voice (or body), no instrument or synthesizer used. Sometimes viewers/listeners equate "Acapella" with "Live Performance" which isn't the case. Of course they can perform the songs live, too - but there will be slight differences, because some sound parts or effects are missing.

I can still remember as a young teen going to my first concert and being so surprised that they didn’t sound exactly like they did on the album. At the time I thought they did a poor job. Then I grew up and realized that there’s a difference between a life performance and a recording.

Another great reaction & I appreciate you always watching to the end. so many reactors complain about people not watching to the end, then do the same when doing their reaction to others. I never get tired of hearing Geoff sing, his range & talent is just amazing

Yes a few of the gravestones say Haunted Mansion. They belong to Layne and Tony's Pattycake Productions where this was filmed. Geoff, VoicePlay and Pattycake are always working in harmony. All the singing is doen in advance of the filming so how it was done only they know. If you want to see Geoff scream like that again, watch VP's mini of Peahes. Geoff getting his rock star vibe out there. :) The man is a genius, so versatile.

Great reaction. I really don't care how he does what he does, just as long as he just keeps on doing it. I think I did see a one shot (or maybe live performance) video where he changed gears like that live, but I can't remember which one.

Great rection - subscribed for more! This was Geoff at his absolute best - until the next one, he just keeps on getting better and better! Fun fact - Rick Underwood did such an amazing job on Geoff's makeup, Geoff had said it took him 2 days to get rid of all the black - but fortunately, his neighbours are now used to him coming back from shoots looking rather unusual!

@@katthor7311 I wondered about that. They had lots of tombstones to choose from, but they chose that one to be featured. But I can’t think of any logical reason for that to have happened. So most likely next year at this time I’ll be astonished when somehow they tied that all together.

Geoff can and routinely does make multi-octave jumps, and he does that in live performances sometimes, so it clearly doesn't necessarily *require* separate takes. However, Geoff also routinely does multiple takes when recording audio, because he's a perfectionist in the best possible way. So whether the audio before the jump and the audio after the jump are necessarily from the same take in any particular instance, who can say?
