Voice Play has a new mini cover out featuring Ashley Dianne titled ..Time Warp. I think it's about 2 minutes long. Cesar is so funny. Even Lane gets a chance to sing. Please do a reaction to it.
The perfect song to showcase his talents. This is Broadway quality. He's the undisputed King of Halloween. When Oogie Boogie came out he said he really struggled with it. Look at him now!
Geoff is a very physical actor. He does his best work when he can use his whole body to express the character’s emotions and thoughts. This piece was totally made for him. The scenery, lighting, sound, all of it-this could well be his best to date. I also like his outros a lot-gives us a chance to kind of see him IRL. You always hear things that I don’t catch. I wait for your reactions!
Kathy said they wanted to give this a hopeful feeling at the end. They were going to use the wrapped present from last year's White Christmas, but couldn't find it. But Pattycake has a snow machine....
This was quite the roller coaster ride. His switching back-and-forth between registers really emphasizes the two sides of Jack. He’s revered for his scary side, but he wants to do something just a little different. Jack’s Lament has always been my favorite song from the movie. It’s a beautiful song, and Geoff’s little character details really bring Jack to life. I appreciate all the little touches of humor: when Jack says “bonjour”, recited Shakespeare and I *love* the slump when he’s Mr. Unlucky😞. Rick’s makeup job was exceptional as always. When Geoff finger-walks across the top of the piano, his hands actually look skeletal. Thanks to Kathy producing an exceptional behind the scenes and for going the extra mile not only to manage these guys but performing as Zero. Naturally Tony and Layne had a snow machine to give that final little touch of hope at the end of all of that!!!
I love Nightmare before Christmas, and this song always made me tear up, But Geoff Has made this song truly come to life and givin a more melancholy feel. And this song definitely needed a low bass cover. I definitely felt the sadness and loneliness of this song. So amazing!! Great reaction!!
Geoff has the perfect combination of theatrical drama, bass voice with incredible range, and amazing storytelling talents that nobody else on earth could compare! 🔥❤️ I love this! Great analysis, QoFy! Your impeccable hearing and insights are also perfect! ❤
I love how he played the octaves to show his struggle between how he feels and who he is (which is what the movie was about). He captured it perfectly. I feel this, by far has been his best song/production to date.
I absolutely LOVE Geoff's solo work. I think he outdid himself here. This is SUCH a spectacular piece!! I've been subscribed to you for over a year. I've listened to a LOT of your reactions from WAY before I subscribed. In this, your analysis is really insightful. I liked your use of the phrase "speech singing." I hadn't really thought of it like that, but you re spot on. That's exactly what he does. Other performers do it also (Ren comes to mind immediately), but Geoff's mellifluous rumble is top tier. Keep on doing your 'thing,' QoFy!!
Jack's Lament is one of my favorite songs and favorite moments from the movie. I couldn't wait to see what Geoff would do with it and I wasn't disappointed! This will probably be a favorite for me for a long, long time! ❤
HEHEHE couldn't wait for this one!!! Let's go! You didn't disappoint I love how you react to music you can see the absolute love for music and performance written all over your face without you saying a single word! To add one thing, Geoff edits his videos.
I enjoyed watching this with you. I have never seen the movie and now I can't wait to watch it. Thank you for always introducing me to different genres' of music and artists that I would have never listened to before.
This was simply amazing! Loved your reaction and the things you picked up on - now subscribed! He really comes into his own around this time of year! 😁 If you check the description on the original, you'll see that he did practically everything, arrangement, direction, editing - apart from makeup by Rick Underwood, camera work, final audio mix by the genius that is Ed Boyer, props also to Kathy and the Pattycake team!
This was superb as always. The set was incredible and Geoff flawlessly conveyed Jack's pathos. Thematically, though, I think the snowfall at the end is my favorite part--the perfect touch to remind us that this is The Nightmare Before _Christmas,_ and Jack's adventure and the answer to his dilemma still lie ahead.
That may have been me, lol. I have said I’d listen to him reading the phone book. I get too lost in the sound of his voice to hear what he’s saying anyway.
6:23 A lot of people still think this is an Eb1 chest but comparing it to the "and I Jack," it sounds EXTREMELY similar to that F# but it's hard to tell bc 6:23 is a literal slide
As a bass/baritone vocalist, we tend to have a wide vocal range. As far as HOW we can get that deep... Bass singers usually experience strong resonance in their chest and throat. A lowered larynx can help you extend your low range. Tension, or constriction, within the vocal folds and above them can help you sing lower. And lastly, vocal range and timbre are heavily influenced by their anatomical structure. As with all vocals, A LOT is happening. Bands with low vocals... Type O Negative, Dreadful Shadows, Sisters of Mercy, Tears of Passion......
The snowfall is a nod to the snowglobe Jack has in the movie. :) Geoff and VoicePlay make these songs come alive. I have seen clips from the movie and frankly they sound boring! Geoff has said that he always felt that Jack needed a deeper voice and I couldn't agree more. You should know by now that whoever comes up with a concept, whether it's Geoff or Layne or Eli, is in charge of everything from arranging to editing. Everything excapt the final mix which is done by Ed Boyer. If you look in the credits you can see exactly who does what.
Okay, now I want to see Geoff do "Hamlet." Preferably as a musical! Okay, yeah, that second idea is a bit cringey to my BA in English...but I want it nonetheless. Because if anyone could pull it off it would be Geoff. But I'd settle for him reading the "to be or not to be" soliloquy on his channel...and as I typed that Qofy, you mentioned Geoff's narrations! LOL!
@@dmytrotsvyntarnyi799 he doesn’t have an an Eb1 in chest he never did he said himself in a video ask Huldra Draco about it she Also knows. We are both vocal experts and your not so

I believe Geoff and his wife actually started out as stage actors/singers for Disney and Universal.

This is a fantastic example of his range and talents. That first low note reverberates for ages.
This man is too dang gifted!!! He never disappoints. ❤❤❤❤❤

Geoff is the real Pumpkin King! 🖤💜🖤 The only problem I have with this song is that it is too short. 🖤

Shakesperian coutations sounds like something from the "Grim grinning ghosts" that Voiceplay made at some point 😀
SO SORRY I AM LATE TO THIS!!❤❤❤❤
This was by far one of the best he's ever done. Unless I missed something, I believe the vocal range of this video is C5 - E1. Correct me if I'm wrong
From C5 mixed voice, down to Eb1 chest voice (at the beginning; on "far and WIDE")
@@dmytrotsvyntarnyi799thats not Eb1, thats brief F#1
@@dmytrotsvyntarnyi799wait really?
@20millionpower it's not very clear. It could be a very thick Gb1
@@dmytrotsvyntarnyi799 I think that is more likely. Because that note doesn't sound like an Eb1 to me

This cover by Goeff got me pregnant
His lowest chest notes in this song are F#1s in chest and lowest and only subharmonic note is an E1 highest chest belt note is C5
1:02 this is a chest Eb
Edit: it's not
