Thanks for your opinion Yufasa, I bought the MZ-32 a year ago and I was really having doubts if I made the right decision, it is not a cheap Tx. reading your comments about the MZ-32 makes me feel better now, I am sticking with the MZ-32 ! Regards .....
I’m still having this issue where I need a lot of sub trim just to make my servos 90 degrees. Which in turn messes up my collective limits causing more pitch on the positive then the negative. Setting up my second helicopter with the RS same issue. I fixed this issue with my goblin as I run torq servos and they have programable centre
I’m so sorry for the bombardment of questions lol, but when setting up my servo sub trim with my swash leveler in, channels 1-3 are at a values of between 55-60. Does that seem excessive. Using sub trim as I had to get the servo arms centred
Hello! I have Spirit RS + Jeti mezon 85 pro opto + Jeti DS 12 duplex. Questions: 1. When setting up Spirit RS telemetry - which company to choose ESC (jeti is missing). 2. Telemetry cable from ESC to which Spirit RS port should I plug it in? Your friend Maximo
Thanks for many nice videos. I'm wondering how do you cable up the hobbywing esc to get the telemetry info. And do you use the fan and external cappack
I believe I already have a video to hook the HW to spirit...will see if I can find it. I have fan but don’t use cap pack yet...something on my todo list
I will be setting the Spirit RS receiver up on a Goblin 770 Sport with the spirit GeoLink with the Duplex DS-12 Spirit Edition radio. With that size Helicopter do you recommend a satellite receiver or 2? I see there are connections for 2 satellites. I used to fly with Spektrum and it required 2 satellites with the receiver. I have stopped using Spektrum and changing all to Spirit. So far I have purchased 2 Spirit RS Receivers and more to get.
I know this is a big and expensive bird so it is really up to you in the end but the Jeti receiver that is built into the RS with diversity is certainly good enough for this application if you don’t plan to fly several hundred yards away from you and as long as you expose the two antenna properly and keep them away from carbon as best you can. Try this and do a proper range check and I believe you would be in good shape.
Hi, your videos are very very good with very clear explanations and a great help for someone who steps into the world of the rc heli like me. However, can you make a video of a setup spirit fbl with Futaba T18sz and basic settings as well as gyro settings, banks and rescue modes. In other words a complete setup? This would be of great help to dummies like me. Thanks regards Stefan
I am using the governor in the ESC but it still is a good point. I should cover that too if I want to make the video complete. I am working on an update for the GTR that was just released. Will try and include that
@@yufasa thank you for the reply. Yeah that is what I tought. Only was wondering if it mixes up data and confuses the esc when both activated. Don’t use it as well.
Hi I just ordered a Goblin 570 Drake and I run a DS-12, really really would love to get one of these in my new Heli. im located in Canada and wondering where in North America I could order one.
@@katpis9121 yes, it has the best rescue and is stable - setting up may take a bit of tweaking on some heli’s but I am very happy with the system and the support
A Spirit gyro i factory setting wont send signal to the tail servo until you chose band and frequenzy so no damaged done but it is a good rule to not connect the tail servo before the step is done
Thanks for pointing that out as I did not know that but if you are like me you likely already used the FBL and if the new servo matches the old one it is fine but if it does not..well better to be safe than sorry.
Hey have you ever had your set up wizzard disappear from the spirit menu in ur jeti? U just went in to make some changes now the set up wizard function is gone
No, I have not run into that - you may want to check the application directory(I think that is what it is called from memory) on the SD card in the Jeti radio. You may need to copy it over again as the SD card got corrupted..
A lot of these points in the setup , you say have to be set right in front he setup as you go . So what happens if a servo goes down and you have to replace it , can you not just go back into the setup find what you have to do and reprogram?
If you replace a servo you want to repeat the process of leveling the servo arm and then the swash plate. Never assume it will be just fine. Yes you can go to the appropriate tab in the settings app to do just those checks/settings.
I know there is an effort by Mannie to get support for the MZ-32 back up. If you compare the user experience then the Jeti is definitely the easier to use despite not having a touch screen...or maybe because of it? I like the MZ-32 feel better but this is highly personal preference and how it fits your hands so keep that in mind. For me the integration with Spirit-Systems is the clincher - it is so much easier to make changes to settings. Something that Graupner started but appear to have stagnated with the telemetry pages. I really hope that Graupner will get this all sorted and start software development again.
I have just switched over to Jeti. I have never used futaba but a friend owns both. His words to me was. Since using jeti he has never felt so connected to a model since using jeti and the gimbals was the best He had ever used. That made my mind up and decided to go straight for the DS24. You have all the features straight out of the box yes it's expensive but it's built to last a lifetime and although I have a lot to learn. It's a masterpiece you never want to put it down. I went from spektrum DX range which served me well to the DX18. Ix20 I sold. Then to Vbar personally it's to restricted to one FBL controller then to jeti. What can say I just love everything about it. I haven't found anything I don't like
I have a DS12 , SpiritRS & Geolink module , can you show how to make bank switching and stab modes vissible on transmitter ? i see it working on the Spirit pc program but not on the DS12 ?
For the banks: You need to use the menu to manually change the banks when using the integration. It appears when in setup mode the switch is ignored as a method to switch banks...once you exit the device explored however you can use the switch and you can use voice output to tell you what bank you are in. I will look into a way to display it on the screen if that is part of your question. Once you “force” the bank setting to 0,1 or 2 you can now go to the Stabi menu and see and adjust the settings for that bank.
@@yufasa I appreciate your time you put into help you provide in these videos, Its been a strange year for everyone with this pandemic, When you have time to complete this, I am sure many will appreciate it
Two ways: If you can get your hands on an ampere meter you can adjust accordingly or you will have to note the used current after a flight, recharge the battery and then calculate the difference and then apply the difference to your correction value.
Let me make sure I understand: You want to see how well the Jeti DS-12 interface operates? When I select a new model for instance? Also how the telemetry operates?
Yes, I have and it works great if you keep a few things in mind - if you build up velocity towards the ground it will not stop where you think the limit is! The same is true for fast forward flight, it messes with the pressure in the canopy and the deck height changes
I have a weird question I just got my spirit rs al wired up to my drake 570. I am running a hobby wing 120 esc. Why when plugging the rpm sense plug into the rpm port do u automatically loose the spirit menu in devise explorer. But when I unplug it it’s back
That is a rather weird one...do you have any other wires in that plug that you have the yellow RPM wire on? Sounds like something is shorting somewhere
@@yufasa figured it out. U have to remove the wire out of the sensor plug and move it to the middle spot within the servo plug. I wish spirit would just give you a manual with the product rather then scattered information within their websites wiki page
Is the overall build quality of the MZ-32 better , can you also say something about the gimbal comparison. I own a MZ-32, but I have not used the radio yet.
As far as the gimbals go, I cannot really tell a difference. Both radio’s have a good feel and the “connected” feel with your aircraft. The MZ-32 does feel more solid than the DS-12 but I can also tell you that the DS-14 I used feel just as good. I think the DS-12 is more of a lower cost model with a lot of the high end features the DS-16 has as an option. (Separate purchases)
