Snowbird? I grew up in LA/South TX and will never be one of those winter Texans. I'm a CO/WY/ND/SD hunter from here on out. The REAL sportsmans paradise up here. I love the cold. Any time I start to hate the cold I tell myself there's another country north of us with millions of humans that hunt, farm and fish in much colder weather 🤣 We're pretty wimpy down here in the lower 48

I’m from that other country north of you. My wife tells me I’m getting weak and soft. Imagine, she can’t understand why I need puffer pants! Meanwhile, I sit in my stand in November and chatter so much shivering that no deer would be within 100ft of me and I’m too cold to draw anyway. Lol. Good gear makes a BIG difference. I’ve had deer freeze solid in the 30 min drag out. Ya, it’s cold, but that’s why Canadian deer are huge.

FOR SURE ! those vests work great in winter whitetail hunts, BUT if you want to use that insulation to max, cover up with another thin windproof layer 🤩🤘

Great video! I have a great many of those pieces and I agree with the performance, especially the new Intercept pants!

Can we see the Western Mountaineering Flight pants stuffed into a stuff sack for a size guide? Can't seem to find one anywhere

Looking for a “all in one” mid-late season pants out west. Weather could be snowy and cold up to slight sunny and low 50s. Anyone have any recommendations?

We would highly recommend the Stone Glacier De Havilland pants. Awesome mid to late season pant and bomb proof at that.

For those with the answers. Core Heavyweight hoody or ambient hoody for a 2nd layer over the core lightweight hoody?

      Ambient all the way.

Yeah idk man didn't learn all that much. I can look specific items up myself on the interwebs. What I can't look up easily is fit (wear the pieces please, and have a chubbier buddy do the same so we can make sense of this), and maybe layer some up. Also, durability of the items? Quality? Alternatives? Let us see different brands and how they compare.
Merino f.e. is nice but it sure as hell doesn't last very long. And for that price...? Meh. Not the greatest recommendation imo.
Also, I'm much more interested in learning about other people's systems. I'm not trying to buy 8 items that cost 300usd each, and 5 of which are totally dysfunctional. I'm trying to get a well working system down that will last and makes sense financially.
Having said that, down vests are great. 10/10. Thats the kind of tips guys should get.
