Oh wow i was so happy when i saw you two had come together to make this video as I have learnt so much from you both in the last 18mths !! Dizziness hit me first after a beloved pet got sick and sadly died, thankfully I found Dr. Yo quite quickly and started to understand what was happening but then the insomnia hit even harder and that shook my world. Trying to navigate being dizzy all day after many nights of zero hours sleep has been the hardest thing I’ve ever been through 😢Then I found the sleep coach school and learnt so much and could see the crossover between both of your teachings! I also had some 1:1 sessions with sleep coach Michelle which were so helpful. It’s been a long slow process with so many ups and downs but I’m getting there … So THANKYOU Dr .Yo and Daniel for all that you do - you are truly wonderful people ❤
Ps forgot to say cbti made things so much worse for me and I’ve realised I have spent most of my life worrying and FEAR is at the root of all this - something that I am continuing to work on.
Thank you for this informative video! Insomnia had such a deep impact and is so common among hypervigilant people like myself. I enjoyed how you talked about what`s underneath insomnia and how you should focus more on the stressors in life than on sleep itself. I had sleep problems for a long period of time. What eventually helped me was the insight that the problem was not that I didn’t sleep at night but that I dreaded the days feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. I thought I had to sleep well to cope with all the tasks and responsibilities I had at that time, which were just way too many. When I gave myself permission to do absolutely nothing during the day (which took some time!), my nights got a lot better. The night is the mirror of the day, they say. It also helped that I bought some nice magazines which I could only read during especially bad nights. Made these nights less frightening. From a CBT point of view this would be horrible of course (reward myself for bad nights), but it did help a lot to befriend the insomnia.
What a crossover!! Daniel actually helped me so much few years ago when I first started having insomnia after my dizziness started!! I did a success story interview with him a while ago, I’ll put the link here and I mention dizziness a lot in case it helps anyone. I’m going through a little insomnia dizzy flare up right now but having hope because I know I was better before. Anyone that struggles with insomnia I 100% recommend his work and also the Sleep Book by Guy Meadows (its based on the same principles)
We add and pile on to manage dizzy and balance issues. The more you unload that pile the further you go towards recovery and sleep. Less is more. Plus so true not being able to sleep is ok, its the fear we have that something is OMG really wrong that leads us down a path we should not have to go. I say nothing to fear but fear itself. If we had no fear we would be Free. Free to live the life we deserve. Free to not worry and be afraid. Take away the fear and that equals Freedom! It is not easy to do but as we lower the fear and anxiety by not giving it a Life of its own it gets easier to live well. If you are worried about something acknowledge it. Say ok there it is. That is wow hard. But people have been thru this too and so can I. Take a tiny small step to handle that. Then let it go. Let time pass. Sometimes those big scary things resolve without our intervention. I then see wow I do not have control over that. So why worry and have fear. Waste of time. This is not easy to let go and feel the feeling. But the alternative of being stuck with Anxiety is worse. Takes a huge toll. We have better and more Wonderful things to do! ❤ Thank you for new insight and some reminders. Great interview. Thank you both!!

Dr, Yonit, i have my dizziness started after going to swings in the park 8 months ago and spending i guess 5 hours here and immeadiately after swings i have felt terrible motion sickness, blurred vision, i was terrified and have a panic attack,but i was in a quite stressed state back then, my neurologist told me it is due to depression and anxiety (I live in Ukraine😢)and that i do not need to do a MRI scan.What do you think, maybe i should do a scan (to calm a health anxiety😅) and than i will just continue to work with your program and your approach which i like so much?❤Your channel is simply THE BEST❤

So is Daniel a licensed somnologist? I never heard of a "sleep doctor" just curious on the details of his qualifications, thanks!
He's a medical doctor who specializes in sleep medicine - he did a fellowship specifically in sleep medicine at University of Chicago.
