    Part 1 - • Cinematic Lighting In ...
    I've just realised the very beginning of the video cuts in suddenly rather than fading like it's supposed to and it's really irking me ;)
    Part 2 of our Cinematic Lighting in Small Spaces on a Budget (that's a lot of words) takes a look at a few breakdowns on some setups shot with tiny LED panels - in particular, the Godox M1. Tiny panels like this are extremely useful for getting into tight spaces and for placing just out of frame - not to mention, these days they have a decent light output and a range of colour and effects options available. If you're looking at lighting a small space on a budget, these types of lights can be lifesavers, as there's way less of struggle to fit them into tighter spaces - and if you need to mix colour temperatures, you can just do that with a button - rather than buying and setting up gels. Extremely useful lights to have to hand, not just for a low budget, but for any budget!

    Why? Just..why?
    I’d love to know the reason why someone went out of their way to try and feel big and powerful by thumbs downing valuable and free, easy to understand information.

This video's actually funny timing because just recently I did some lighting tests for a short with a *very* similar (though nowhere near as good-looking) setting. I used to think that Dynamic Range is a big deal then I realised that I can control Dynamic Range by lighting properly... and then I won't have to lift shadows and fill the image with noise. Lighting is the most important part in film-making, I am starting to realise that now.

    • @AnimeZone247
      @AnimeZone247 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      still dont over look dynamic range, the weaker the dynamic range the more stronger your light output has to be to compensate, night shots not so much. but if we're talking about daytime interiors then exposing for the windows and the talent can be tricky, unless you want to put NDs on the window, then having good dynamic range can be beneficial. Dont overlook or ignore anything in film making.

      That's so good to hear man and I'm glad my videos can help out, it's great to know these are interesting videos for people even with a good amount of experience in video production! Thank you so much for the kind words :)

      @@RobEllisCinematographer Yeah, there is always more to learn with lighting and more ways to do even the seemingly simple things. Your videos often get the gears turning in my head, and actually pay off on set, ha

    Really enjoyable and nice breakdown! I will definitely watch more. I just ordered the Godox. And zyro looks very interesting too. One tiny detail: I suppose your in-camera WB stays at 5600 for a mixed lighting setup like this one.
