I am the happiest I could ever be right now. My Mom just gave me the keys to my first car. Which is a bright silver 2013 KIA Forte EX sedan! I love it!!
Harim Aguilar No like yeah totally. The car was honestly reliable all throughout the time I owned it. It never gave me any issues, it never died on me, it never failed me. I kept routine maintenance and it just kept going. Despite the small little four banger it had, the car got up and went. Considering how light it was as well. I was involved in a 40 MPH accident to where I actually rear ended someone’s car. No one was hurt, the car held up and kept me safe. Yes it wasn’t that fast of an accident but still. I’ve always felt safe within a KIA. Gas mileage was quite good with that car. I always got 30+ on average when I drove it. It’s a super economical little car. The only like, drawback I guess you could call it was this car and Wisconsin snow. This car did not like snow at all. It spun tires all the time and got stuck on basically nothing. Now I’m sure my tires had a play in it as they weren’t the best but with good tires I’m sure the car would be fine. Overall though, I loved the little Forte when I had it and I do recommend this car for anyone looking for a reliable, economical, safe and fun and cute car.
I have a 2013 2 door SX Koup and the only way to get max performance out of it is to put it into manual shift mode and use the paddles to bypass the ECU. The ECU in full auto is way to fast getting the trans into high gear for fuel econ. Shifts around 4500 + keep the engine rpms up and throttle response and power is much better. Overall I really like this car. Performance, standard features and handling are great especially for the price. Mixed driving mpg is 30.
I have this car in the sedan form. 2013 Kia Forte SX. It has a tight sport-tuned suspension, which handles corner like a dream! it's built for smooth, windy roads. On broken roads the ride can be a bit bouncy though but not bone shattering. It is reliable and haven't given me any mechanical issues so far. Great car imho!
I just bought the same exact car and the motor has to be replaced, and the transmission is super rough and probably getting replaced. Not only is the motor getting replaced though, but the engine is being gutted. I still love the forte. Mine has 149k miles. I'm getting it fixed for free since I have a warranty with the dealership.
I have this same car in the hatchback variation ex. I've done some modifications like straight pipe a nice burble tune on the ecu and aftermarket rims. Next is putting it on bags
I bought a 2014 EX Forte5 a few months ago. I think the quality is there, but yours, being a turbo, is faster. I miss a stick shift and good-handling suspension. The Kia has a "torsion bar" rear suspension, which is just a hollow steel bar. I can feel the difference, even from my former car, a 2000 Honda Civic Hatch DX. So.... Tomorrow I'm going to check out how bad a bath I'd take if I trade it for a Scion FR-S. Sad, in a way, but the Forte is too staid for me, even with a nice window tint. Thanks for the ride!
Update: I did get an FR-S. After driving to & from Vegas (apx 280 mi each way), I miss the ergos, convenience (esp the back-up camera), room and comfort of the Kia! Haha! Nothing's perfect, I guess. So, Sunday I'm going to take yet another bath either swapping for my exact former Forte5, or downsizing a bit & getting a bit better handling with a Ford Fiesta.
KutWrite this was the 2.4 model. it wasnt even in manual mode. the 2.4 is pretty quick for a NA V4. they had it up to 200 hp on the optima. they should have upgraded it from 173 and 170. a few bolt ons and your over 200 hp and 200 ft lbs. I have seen the 2.4 optima go against the Veloster and it was neck and neck. if they upgraded to the 200 and 187 ft lbs in the forte I bet it would wipe the floor with the 1.6T
I don't want anybody else to experience this frightening situation. Some people's Kia/Hyundai's are even starting on fire because of this issue. Even while parked and off! Kia malfunctions and I still owed about $6000 on the financing. --- Before I get into the engine failure, the first issue was my Kia Sorento not starting when I turned the key. This should have been a recall but they forced me (and others) to buy a new battery before they could diagnose the cause of the problem. CAA tested my battery and refused to give me a new one because their machine gave the battery a 'pass'. I also knew the battery couldn't have been the cause of the no-start issue. The cause of the no-start issue is a flaw in the security system that immobilizes the vehicle. If the user presses lock twice on the key fob, the following attempt at starting the engine would be seen by the vehicle as an unauthorized key/method being used to start the vehicle. --- OK, back to the engine failure issue, I was just contacted by Transport Canada several weeks after filing my initial report with them concerning the stalling of my 2015 Kia Sorento on the highway while I was with my wife and my 2 year old son. After the vehicle was restarted and having exited the highway, the engine began knocking loudly. I took immediately to Mr. Lube who had always done my oil changes and other services, they showed my the oil level was fine and told me to have it inspected. I took it to Plaza Kia the following morning who diagnosed it and in their final report stated the cause of the engine failure was lack of lubrication. Well, there was plenty of oil in there and I began reading many other people having this issue around the Canada and the USA. I even had the computer updated which was supposed to have extended my drivetrain warranty to 10 years and/or 200,000km. The service department still said I had to pay almost $10,000 for a new motor. This issue is not limited to the Kia Sorento. Many Kia/Hyundai motors in various models are experiencing this catastrophic mechanical failure. -- My 2015 Kia Sorento was one of their defective models that developed engine failure in early December of 2020. i bought this car well the koup sx 2010 and its the worst car I ever owned, in 60 000kms 2 transmission rebuild, a lot of rattles inside, even with perfectly fine anlignement tire use inegally if you have to buy this car buy the 6spd automatic version or nothing and wait for the new forte that came out soon i finished to sell it and bought an Acura csx 2009 ! at 65 000kms, PURE GARBAGE

This is what every freaking car review should be like. Thorough with now words
I love kia forte car they are the best
Looks fine for first car
That car is so fast and dificult to take the control 🔥 first car? I don't think so 🤷♂️
Nice video, if you place the shifter in the manual spot, the throttle becomes much more responsive, and 0-60 is a lot quicker

Plz help me I want to play cruze control in my kia forte 2013 but it is 1600cc I can do that or no can anybody helps me to slove this problem
pls test the new turbo charged forte koup or 5 door sx model... i heard it has improved a lot in driving dynamics.
I bought the 2015 Forte5 SX Turbo, it's a blast to drive! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a sporty hatchback.
This car looks very nice
i like how it starts off with the driving
Really like the leather interior. Hate the paddle shifters. Paddles sound plasticky and shifts half a day after you tell it to shift.
It's the same interior since 2010.
Can't wait for the new 2014 mazda 3, this car seams like it needs more sound deadening.
Gorgeous. Want this but probably gonna get the Accent SE cuz of the price
Is that year engine reliable?
Better then Honda in my opinion
Honda is crap
How does it drive it in rain and snow?
