    WizKids WarLock Dungeon Tiles 1 Unboxing and Review! Prepainted fantasy miniature scenery and terrain, perfect for tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons or Pathfinder. Besides roleplaying games, these sets would be amazing to integrate into board games like zombicide or skirmish wargames like Frostgrave or Age of Sigmar. Heck, break them out with Wahammer 40k!

    I have been looking for a full layout of what you can make with one pack. This video is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you.

    I am terrified of the quantity you have. I'd love to make a MEGA DUNGEON from them all!

      Honestly, after seeing how much a single set makes, I'm a bit terrified also. 😆 A mega dungeon is definitely on its way!

    Great Review! I'm thinking about picking up a few Dungeon 1 sets to recreate the Hero Quest board. Has anyone tried that yet? I would love to know how many sets/expansions are needed to recreate it.

    Awesome, Rick, so awesome. Was super exciting just to watch, as always. Thanks and can't wait to see more of this amazing stuff.

    If the clips are too tough to place into the tiles, DONT WORRY! you can always separate the two layers of the tile and just reattach them around the clip! Definitely what's suppose to happen....Definitely not just cheep tiles falling apart as the clips are way too sturdy to give for the tile...

    • @RickKoeppen
      @RickKoeppen  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sounds terrible! And uncommon. I’ve clipped hundreds of tiles together at this point, multiple times, pulled them apart, repeat, etc. Not a single tile has split in two. Idk what some of you people are doing to your tiles, but take it easy! 😆

    • @xJohnnyBloodx
      @xJohnnyBloodx 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RickKoeppen Let me explain. I tried to force the clip into the tile rather than do the shimmy, fair enough, BUT the tile would sooner pop apart than for the clip to give enough to be placed in between the two parts.

      @@xJohnnyBloodx have a coke and get some EZ clips. Sounds like you were just getting frustrated and broke the tiles.

    Don’t know why I had not thought of this before but if it is not possible to make interior doors opening, it would be good to have some fixed open interior doors.

    Outstanding review. I was wondering could you give some ideas on best way to store multiple sets of Warlock tiles? Maybe some pictures? Keep up the great work!!

    • @RickKoeppen
      @RickKoeppen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I store mine in one of thr worst ways imaginable. I need to get plastic tubs and sort by piece type. Right now they are separated by piece type, but in grocery bags stuffed in cardboard boxes. 😂

    Does anyone know if this particular boxed set is still available now? (December 2023). I can't seem to find one anywhere.

    These look fantastic. Can you do suspended floor/mezzanine/second floor type things using the stairs?

    • @RickKoeppen
      @RickKoeppen  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it might work better with full height walls (which are coming!), but if you had enough stairs/landings you could probably balance a second floor on top of them.

    I bought a box of WarLock Tiles 'Dungeon Tiles I' as well. One positive: availability! Other than that, I have to say that I am disappointed. I don't like the clips included on these, as they are way too hard. Removing them is painful. After trying a few times, now I am down to using them without clips. It's way quicker to build that way. Not great overall, though. I also refuse to pay more for EZ clips. Another thing I am not impressed with is the modularity of the pieces. The grid is 2x2, but often you would just want to have 1x1 floors and corners as well. The sculpting is not particularly high in detail and doesn't look as good as I hoped. The paint job is meh. The box overall feels more like a half box, as you would need at least a couple of these to start building meaningful encounters. Wouldn't recommend these for the asking price, given the quality..

    • @RickKoeppen

      Good thoughts! Future sets will come with EZ clips by default, sounds like they're doing away with the hard clips all together. 100 EZ clips in a pack for $5 is definitely reasonable, imo. I still like the hard clips, I havent had a terrible time with them if you know how to get them to rock in and out, but I understand they aren't for everyone. I've actually been pleased with the overall look of the sculpts and paint schemes, and they have more modular 1x1 pieces coming. I feel like you actually get a decent amount of table coverage for the price, compared to other prepainted dungeon offerings like Dwarven Forge. But you're right, you can't beat the availability!

      @bluezgamerz3773 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RickKoeppen EZ as default is definitely a good thing moving forward. 👍 I am still not convinced, though. 👎 Miniature terrains are expensive, and I would like to invest that type of money in something that looks and feels less cheap, and more premium. I really wanted to start collecting WarLock when I saw them available, but they were such a bad surprise out of the box... 😥

    Rick, I love your enthusiasm! That's why I started really liking your videos! But I don't know if the Warlock system deserves it.. And I'm afraid to say it because you bought SO much!! Those clips are straight from hell and the price-point isn't much better than Dwarven Forge. The ability to twist the dungeon is interesting but it seems like Wizkids' Warlock is failing where Dwarven Forge failed almost 2 decades ago with those bow-tie clips. Keep up the great videos but I think you might regret investing so much into the system.

    • @RickKoeppen
      @RickKoeppen  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I appreciate your take! The clips hurt my fingers soooo much after a while. I'm scared to see how they feel after I combine all of these sets together! Though I gotta say, after putting together a couple builds, I am getting addicted to the clipping, and am getting pretty good at it. Maybe I'm just masochistic. Haha.
      I do agree about Dwarven Forge's bowties, definitely not a fan. These I do look at differently, because the clips aren't mandatory and don't leave a gross looking bow tie shaped gap like the old DF sets did.
      While I could give or take the tiles themselves, I'm honestly the MOST excited about the dressing/stair/door pieces, which of course can be used with any manufacturer!
